Sad to say but super rugby has killed provincial rugby, no ones interested in the smaller teams. I remember back in the day a game between Auckland and Canterbury could fill Eden Park now you would be lucky to get 10k watching.
When live rugby was shown on TV crowd numbers started dropping majorly. It started before Super Rugby came along. In the 70s and 80s you had to go down and watch if you wanted to see it live. The only way to get it up again esp in the smaller provinces is to drastically reduce the price of tickets. Another thing is that when I was going to games I didn't have to work on Saturday or Sunday... nobody did. So we had time to go to the rugby and sort the garden out. In the 2000s I was still at work when the games kicked off on Saturdays. It's not Super Rugbys fault. Its life in general that's changed it.
Got himself infront of the ball placement with his legs... its hard luck, but it was the right call. If his teammate is quick enough to get over and have a go at the ball, he should be able to move his legs out of the way before that.
Nice to see Sweany still playing for Waikato.
Good shit Waikato! Some good teams this year going to be tough goodluck
The guy yawning through his conversation before the game started is definitely a highlight.
Good work moloo man. CowBell ringing here in Brisbane . Keep doing it boys every week.
Awesome boys great start to the season and a big scalp first up. Way to play for each other 👍

2:43 not rolling? What give him a split second to roll ?

nah he used his leg to push the ball over, its intentional. Its the old trick that mccaw used to do before lol
@@ejsmith9194 Yeah, it was the leg action that got him.
Let’s go Canterbury
Nice wokoto
Waikato blaa
Horrific call for a yellow card there. Waikato didnt have clean possession in that ruck
I think he may have deliberately put his legs in the way of the ball.
