For its price, my favourite by far. I like the bitter aftertaste. Much more than the overwhelming sweetness of Jameson

Picked up a bottle from the airport sometime back and I tried this today after a few years of drinking it at a friend's place. I somehow enjoyed it right out of the bottle. Lots of fruitiness with a slight hint of vanilla. Friendly in the mouth but slightly tough on the palate.
For 25$ here in India at the airport, this isn't a bad bargain.

Just bought a bottle and it's amazing how much better it becomes with some ice in it.
Normally I don't use ice but it takes away the sharpness immediately.
Makes it an easy sipping nice Whiskey!

the first time i tried it had a nice soft bread or buiscuity fatty creamyness softness to it and flavors of green apple and pears and went down nicely,i was very surprised at the first mouth feel nice thick stuff but i gave a bottle to my cousin and after a long while i was at his place and found the bottle sitting outside on his balcony and gave it a quick taste and it was dry and harsh.,idk what went wrong?

This has been my nightly quaff of late.. For me it’s smooth initially with not unpleasant bitterness that lingers in to a peppery restitution.
l let it rest for 15min or cut it with a drop of water. I pick up banana, caramel in the smell mixed with apple and clove in the taste, again, with the after taste of some spicy heat.
    As a pleb it’s great.

Tasting it now for the first time, funny I don't mind the bitter after taste... Or better yet don't find it bitter at all. It's a smooth one and its one ill keep refilling in my bar 👌

  • @Bareego

What hit me first with this drink is the initial malty/honey sweetness, quite distinct from a dry scotch. I didn't taste any bitterness whatsoever. Very satisfying on a cold day.

I would generally say that irish whiskies are smoother and milder than scottish ones. in my opinion. when i'd want something edgeless and not obtrusive, then i'd take an irish whisky.

Interesting. The last time I had Tullamore DEW there was no bitterness at all. Just smooth and delicious. It's been a few years, but I can't imagine it's that different.
Of course I didn't spend any time at all sniffing it prior to sipping it. 😎

Well done, I expected this of you...even though I love drinking this stuff on it's own, but the way to drink this is to not let it touch the back of your palate until you swallow, not to taste those tannins too ...early as they do cover the tropical fruit. But the finish is totally unripe mango. BTW their representative says the age is 4-7 years

    • @glennhooper8867
