    Now THAT was awesome! You even cut the wood outside in the snow (like I would have to!). Thank you for not "mathing" me to death. You just gave the ratio (which you explained perfectly!).

    I’ve been watching a lot of tree building videos and yours is the most intuitive. I like the cutting guide and the ability to easily scale the dimensions without getting into heavy math. Thanks much!

      Well, thank you for the warm greeting, but I have to admit, I'm a little jealous of your sunny weather in Cape Town. Can you send some sunshine my way? 😄

    This was a good explanation without a lot of fluff! Great job. I did notice at about 3:57 into the video it looks like the tree you are showing is nailed from the inside instead of from the outside. I like that look. If that's the case then the only outside nails showing would be at the peak and the base. Regardless, a very helpful video. Thanks

      Thank you for the kind words! Yes, you're right, the tree is nailed from the inside, leaving the outside nails visible only at the peak and base. Glad you found the video helpful!

    Hi Janis! I saw your video last year and saved it but never got around to building. This year I am and just did my first tonight. Not perfect, but not too bad. Question, are you nailing from the inside of the tree so it doesn’t show? I did the outside and obviously brad holes are showing. Any advice?

    • @craftyshed
      @craftyshed  3 месяца назад

      Hi! I would suggest using a little bit of wood filler and sanding it afterwards. And yes, I am nailing from the inside, so the only visible marks are on the top peak and bottom.

    Thank you for sharing. How long is the A part in cm?

    • @craftyshed
      @craftyshed  2 года назад

      Hi Anna! Thank you for the question. You can pick any length 10, 15 or 20cm, even longer. My favourite is 10cm - so your tree will be app. 25 cm high. It is nice size, fits on any shelf.

    Hi 🙂
    Your christmas trees look very nice ⭐️ Can I please ask what part C size is?
    Thank you.

    • @craftyshed
      @craftyshed  Год назад +2

      Hi, to find dimension for part C you need to assembly sides of the tree. Put those sides together, rest them against straight edge and you will find exact dimension for part C. Part C is variable, it will depend on what thickness of material you have, how much you overlap and what dimension you chose for part A. Hopefully it helps😉😉😉

      @@craftyshed Thank you for your reply, I hope to give it a go 🙂

    Is there any formula if I use other thickness? Like 12mm.

    • @craftyshed
      @craftyshed  2 года назад +1

      Hi Ralf! Usually, I do like that - I pick dimension for part "A" (for example 100mm), I prefer look of 30° cut (but this work with any degree) - so I cut part "A". Then I measure thickens of material at the end, on 30° cut (not perpendicular as usually, but under angle). For 12 mm board it will be around 13,5 - 14mm. In this case my part "B" will be 114 mm long. If part "A" is 150 mm, them part "B" is 164mm. I know, it may sound complicated, but it's just geometrical thing. Hopefully I explained clear enough. Thank you for your question😉

  • @joshhowell307
