Schecter is killing it with their T-style guitars. So many choices and options. I bought a PT Special earlier this year and it’s become my favorite guitar.
Schecter is a great brand, love the Nick Johnston series, top quality - wish they could make a Tele PT Special with a good trem, great tone and phrasing Rich
Hi Rich, thanks for great play through on this beautiful tele :) How would you compare it to Nick's strats? I mean the feeling of neck (since they are different types, right?), and maybe ergonomics. You said it sounds like a strat in one configuration, so I guess we can expect similar sounds here. I would appreciate any feedback from you, how they come together :) Thanks
other than the PU and the fretboard color(I think.) whats the difference between this one with the humbucker and the one with the P90s(other then $200 bucks)?
Nick’s signature tele bridge pickup, locking tuners, coil split for the humbucker, roasted hard rock maple neck with ebony or roasted maple board depending on which color you pick
love this guitar, but find neck PU way too dark. cannot get it to sound good for the life of me, tried changing pickup height, tried playing with pole pieces, nope Only thing I haven't tried so far is changing the pot (not sure what kind is in there anyhow - could not find the info anywhere, since it is shared between single at the bridge position and the HB, I'm guessing 250 or 300 K might be the cause).Would be interesting to hear whether someone shares the same opinion. or simply put the single coil sized HB into bridge and change the pot to 500 kOhm and get it over with :).
Im also having the same issue with the neck pickup.. Way too dark. I was curious to know if you ever solved this and how. P.S i thought that the pots were 500k?. I might be wrong
@@bloodflower2141 Hi, I decided to change the bridge PU and swapped it for single coil sized Seymour-Duncan. As I still do not trust myself enough to do it, brought it to my tech, he confirmed these were 500 kOhms, therefore pots could not be the issue for bridge PU dark tone. I am thinking I need to give up and change my neck pickup as well....to answer your question in short, no the saga still continues :)
@@PeteSahad03 Ive been considering the pickups that are in the Telecaster Yosemite which is also a HB Singlecoil. The HB in the Yosemite is also splittable so it seems like it could be a decent option. If Fender thinks they are balanced and paired well together they must not be bad..
I'm sorry to say but the Schecter Nick Johnston series blows away anything Fender makes in that price range and possibly any price range. The roasted maple and ebony combo is really beautiful and feels amazing but you can tell right away that the quality and attention to detail are much higher in the Schecter. Fender has found every way to cut corners and give you the cheapest product possible for the most money and Schecter killed it with this NJ Tele and Strat.

Came for the guitar. Got blown away by your playing! Mad respect man!
Thanks!

What colour did you get? I'm struggling with the visual of the p90, unless it's with the black pickguard to disguise it - what's it like up close?
@joebranston6330 change the p90 or p90 cover to a silver or gold one?
Your playin' is on fire today,. Intro/Outro, both epic!
Thanks, that guitar lends itself to me actually playing better.
Nick’s sig guitars are simply awesome!🙂👍🎸
Bang for bucks - this sounds an amazing guitar. Great playing dude!
Nick Johnston is a phenomenal guitarist, and his signature Schecters are to die for. Especially, the USA models.
But why are they so heavy? All the sweetwater models weigh 9 f lbs. It's just alder.
Personally I just won't buy a guitar over 8 lbs
I don't remember it being heavy.
There's a Ratt in the house!! Killer playing, Rich. Killer guitar, too. I like Schecter's stuff a lot. Great instruments.
Awesome demo Rich! That Tele has such a sweet tone! I have a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR, love it! Schecter's are great guitars!

It sounds fantastic! Schecter is my main go to brand (I have eight at the moment).
Rich, your playing gets better and better!
Beautiful guitar
very nice sound
Great playing and tone Rich!
I have a Nick Johnston Strat HSS. Great guitar too.
Thanks. I have a video on the strat version coming soon.
Would have been nice to hear some clean tones & country pickin from the bridge pickup.
Suena muy muy bueno

I liked it. It's not classic Tele sound, buts a cool rock bluesy tele.

Will you be having a go with the Sonics? The guitars, not the band or the sportsball team
Does Cort make them?
WMI's Indonesian or Korean factories make the Schecter imports.
