Totally agreed! With every new gameplay snippet they're releasing, I'm more and more convinced that Shadows has the potential to become the best Assassin's Creed game in a very long time!
I hate Ubisoft, but something ill give them is that they're always very innovative on atleast one mechanic per game, like their innovative parkour in Unity, or Pirate system in Black Flag... This time around looks like they truly innovated on the combat and it looks great and fun while also being cool. I just hope everything else about the game isnt mediocre as per Ubi standards

The combat looks all right, but I think the animations are too stiff. And the animation blending isn't the best. Pretty much every move feels a bit choppy and unsmooth. I don't know why so many new games have a problem with that when ACs from the last decade had perfectly smooth animations.
Unity's animations were simply on another level 🥲 (Unity still holds up pretty well too) - Although before delaying the game, the animations looked way worse so at the very least I'm just glad Ubisoft delayed it to fix some of these issues...
I find it funny about yasuke. Hes a historical figure yet people complain about him saying things being forced down our throats when hes a real person. Its funny to me
Tell you the truth be honest with you we haven't even gotten a game and we're judging it so damn hard they going to push this game back to a millennium they are probably changed the name a quadruple times I don't know if this will be the last ever assassin's Creed game we will ever get there's so much going on with this game it is crazy
It's highly unlikely for Shadows to be the last Assassin's Creed game. Games usually change a lot during their development cycle, but with what we're seeing from Shadows and with Ubisoft's proper call to delay the game to further polish things, I think we're in for a good ride!
@@robopokorny2982 That's just straight up false. Ghost of Tsushima itself was inspired by Assassin's Creed games, mainly the older titles in a lot of aspects, the most important ones mind you. (there's a video in the channel explaining that as well) Just because both games are set in Japan doesn't mean they are doing the same thing.
AC Shadows pitch meeting. We will make Ghost of Tsushima, but split the honorable and Ghost way amongst two of them, plus better graphics and black guy
all the similarities that you might have sawn: ghost copied the light and red enemy's attacks from ac origins and odyssey and the UI is the same since ac odyssey, so mainly ghost that copied assassin's creed, not the other way around, but I appreciate the fact that you said that the graphics are actually better, since most people say that the graphics are worse in shadows, and they absolutely aren't

@TheTrueSeal Ubisoft made flops after flops this year such as skulls and bones, Avatar, Xdefiant(which had potential), Stars Wars Outlaw. Not only that they also collabed with Nier Automata in Rainbow Six siege and they made 2B look manly as heck. They decided to make the gorgeous actor for the Star Wars Outlaw protagonist look ugly in game as if they hate attractive females. Skull and bones was far behind than AC4:Black Flag. But if you enjoyed these, don't let me stop you. However I don't like these and that made me lose faith in Ubisoft.
@@notsubaru4464 Being skeptical is totally fine imo. I don't support everything they do either, but Avatar is genuinely a good video game. It's gorgeus and follows Far Cry's formula in a fantasy world. However, Star Wars Outlaws has been updated a lot to fix some of its most glaring issues and I promise you, Kay Ves' face is literally at the bottom of that game's list of problems. I guarantee you one of the key reasons the game failed to sell was the horrible optimization, poor previews, and all the mixed reviews during the early access period.

Nope, they didn't alter Kay's face, however they updated the game to fix its horrendous stealth encounters and made them totally optional, therefor you won't face a "mission failed" screen once you failed stealth encounters.
As long Ubisoft stops insensitively trying to convince people that its a historically accurate game, I believe they have a potential to make a decent game out of it without dooming their company. Because as natives already stated: samurai armor doesn't come off that easily (as much as I admit its a cool idea to show that enemy is exposed to attacks)

Not to mention using chinese architecture in japan or plants that are not native to that region. Whether the case, Japan has a lot of hiperinterested people outside of japan, plus the native's sensitivity to own culture. Ubisoft really should've been much more careful with designing that "spirit and authenticity of that period", and as we can see, current staff mainly built of liberal women who are juniors at game design are simply not capable at taking such delicatee subject

@@roux7110 Depends on how we're looking at a game. Simplify things enough and even a masterpiece like RDR2 can look repetitive. (Not comparing Valhalla to RDR2 btw) I'd say if you're interested in the era and the AC lore, you will fall in love with the game.
Mirage's combat was awful to say the least. The combat was okay in Odyssey and Valhalla mostly improved upon that but lacked the "it factor" or any hardcore elements. It was serviceable at best imo. Shadows - at least based on the released videos - seems to be the one that finally gets the combat aspect right. Enemies don't look floaty, they "think" and fight, and your attacks seem heavy. they have weight. That's what makes Shadows combat look far better than the rest!

I think making an AC with that type of combat would drive a lot of players off. With a quick look at Kingdom Come Deliverance , a game focusing on realistic swordfights we learn that the combat in that game requires players to put a lot of time and effort into mastering it, while generally most gamers prefer skill tree based combat systems. I personally like realistic combat systems, but I don't think we're going to see something like those games in an AC, at least not in the main games.

Nah, it won't be the next GoT because GoT is doing its own thing and AC is going its own way. GoT is the game that was inspired from AC, not the other way around.
This game is a sleeper for those who are stuck in ultra realistic fantasy, wanting there to be no inaccuracies/ woke agenda but odyssey did this but failed to deliver combat but the ones who can see the potential of how they used every assassins creed from the past to delivered a hyper realistic action packed combat game like this we just need a dope @s storyline to be the cherry on top and this could be the best ac we’ve seen since black flag and 3s combat just saying

bruh, you can literally play as Naoe, an assassin, I can understand if you don't like the fact of playing as a samurai in an assassin's creed game, but it's feudal japan, not putting a samurai as a playable character would be crazy, besides, you can play almost all the game with Naoe, so this game is perfectly considerable as an "assassin's creed game", even though this terminology doesn't make sense since, for me, ac odyssey and valhalla are perfectly considerable assassin's creed games since they explain a lot about the isu lore
How can you even say this? Origins showed us how the creed started, Odyssey showed us how the remaining ISU bloodline lived their lives, and Valhalla showed us the reach of Hidden ones vs The Order war. in fact Valhalla is the most faithful AC to this date, despite not having an assassin protagonist... and about Shadows, we still don't know a lot of things.

Another area they're really good at is their world design. Every single Ubisoft game has some of the most beautiful worlds ever in video games!

Why dont Ubisoft add physics based combat mechanics in AC games? I hate combat system in all AC games so much. So easy and boring
