- Hello buttercups,
I'd like to think I fly quite often, especially long haul flights. In fact, I'm scheduled to fly quite a lot this year starting next week. I love traveling but I hate flying. The airplane is all sorts of evil for my skin and that's why I'm pretty high maintenance even if I'm 50,000 feet in the air. Today, I'm going to share my Airplane Beauty regimen with you guys. I'll cover everything from skincare to makeup to hair.
Inside the airplane, air is constantly recycled. It's germ filled and the humidity only hovers around 8% (our skin need 40% to be healthy). To prevent the airplane from sucking every drop of moisture out of your skin, it's very important you protect it by keeping it hydrated as much as possible. Don't be afraid to turn your flight journey into a beauty spa.
EDIT- Yes. This is how I always fly. Yes, I watched Michelle's flying video years ago and I always wanted to do one ever since. It's how I handle my skin, makeup and hair. I did not copy someone else's routine. I'm about to fly next week and I just wanted to share my traveling routine. How many ways is there to remove makeup and apply skincare? I'm not going to apologise for copying something I didn't do. Michelle did an airplane beauty video years ago. Many did so afterwards. Are they all copying? No! There's lots of smokey eye tutorials, are they all copying? No. I'm just working with my skin. Common sense. That is all =) Believe all you like. You can't take away my dignity & attitude.
EDIT 2- I appreciate everybody who is trying to stand up for me but please don't get involved with bickering. I realised proving yourself right has a price to pay. It's not worth the time & effort. I appreciate your support and that is enough already =)

I put on a sheet mask for the flight from Japan back to America when I was visiting my family for Christmas. The Japanese people didn't bat an eye at it, but the American girl that I was sitting next to just gaped at me like I'd grown three heads!
Those things are a LIFE SAVER for your skin, though. I left mine on for about 30 minutes, then rubbed the extra essence onto my skin, tucked the used mask in the air-sick bag, and patted my skin to help it absorb the moisture.
(You're lucky you can sleep on planes though--I can't!!)

I remember watching this when you posted it and thinking "hmm I won't ever be able to use these tips since I never fly" and now I'm flying off to Hawaii next week for a mission trip and watching this again! Thanks bubz!

I'm flying from Heathrow London airport to Australia (with a stop in Kuala Lumpur for an hour!) and I must say this is really gonna help me as I have eczema and tend to get heaps dry skin on short flights. I have now made a mini shopping list of stuff I need! Thank you bubz!!

+Nami Swan I had a 14 hour layover in Kuala Lumpur once. It was like a mini vacation! That airport is the BEST to catch a nap and relax in. Too bad you'll only be there an hour!

No... The most you need is moisturizer tbh. All I carry is some oil sheets, facial mist and moisturizer. And if you need to do makeup do it half an hour before the plane lands. But makeup is not needed, all I do is just fill in my brows and some concealer

Brianna a maybe she/he prefers silence and no movements which is understandable for "sleep" flights :) and moving so much may cause bumping arms with the person next to you so.. but we can just be careful if we choose to do this

This is a very good and helpful guide. Especially the lighting part. And for the people who are wondering who would put on their makeup on a plane ride: you have obviously never flown for over 9 hours before. Make up doesn't stay on that long without smudging or irritating.
