    Actual red mica’s are very difficult to find. That was a great experiment and the ❤️ was a beautiful true red. I don’t know if Rezin Arte by ColourArte is available in the UK but, they have one called Puppy Love. I’ve got it but, haven’t tried it yet. It looks pretty close to true red. Thanks Wendy

    Omgoodness that’s a lot of red! I have several too bc it’s an elusive thing to find a good one. Maybe adding a bit of Macropearl from Pearl Ex..or Pearl alcohol ink from piñata, would make the other 2 favorites have shimmer so they are usable. ~~I agree with you on the top 2. I do love pastes but really dislike finding them hard and unusable. The heat gun will fix it with stirring & heating back and forth until it’s all liquid again.. but it takes much less time to go hard again. The two reds I’ve been going with are from Coloure Arte, Queens Stiletto and Puppy Love. Saskia Smit (RUclips channel)sells their products in the Netherlands & always has discount codes. They’re a little pricey for the micas but sooo much better quality.. idk if that’s easier for you as far as customs/fees/time than the USA is. ~~Anyway thank you for this comparison. It’s been needing addressed. See you in the next Wendy 🌹🌹🌹

      Thank you so much for this information. There is a limit to how many reds you can actually buy 😂😂 most of the micas I have are red from trying to find the red 😂😂 now I have a good colour red I can give it a rest for a while 😂😂

    An idea for using up your over-abundance of reds...a resin tray or a honking big canvas! 😁 You could call it "The Reds Have It" and use all sorts of shades in a dutch-type pour. Contrast with bits of black and gold...yummy!

    Not sure if anyone else has mentioned these true reds in the comments. I’m a bit late seeing this video.
    There are a couple of true reds from Fluid Art Co. They are from the This Little Piggy line. Their true red is called Maraschino, and they also have a bright red called Inferno (which I’d say is also a true red).

    Are you talking about primary red? In my opinion, primary red is the only perfect red. When I was younger, I didn't really know what to call it, so I just called it red--red or true red, or pure red. The mold you just held up at the beginning of this video, didn't show up that way on my screen. I don't know if that is the fault of my device or what, but it looked more like Salmon on my screen. I ordered a red shower curtain liner online one time, and what I got, also looked more like Salmon. It is the same color as your mold looks on my screen, but they called it red, too.

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  Год назад

      Yes the mould I held up was definitely primary red 😀😀 not salmon.
      It’s funny how we accept what we see on our screens to be true isn’t it?
      Sorry if it confused you as I didn’t think about giving it a proper title like that 👍❤️

    • @susanhopemason
      @susanhopemason Год назад +1

      @@Toonpish I never said it WAS salmon, I just said it looked like salmon, on my screen the first time you held it up at the beginning of the video. Later in the video, it did look more like primary red. But, I wrote my comment before that. I am perfectly aware that different devices can render colors differently from other devices, and sometimes lighting can also effect how the color looks on video. I never assumed that it was the color it looked to me at that time, I was just telling you what I saw on my end. In this particular case, it was probably a lighting issue, because the first time I saw it, you were holding it up in the air, and then later it was laying flat on the table. It did look more like primary red when laying on the table. I checked Amazon right after that to see if I could find some called primary red, and I didn't see any.

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  Год назад

      I really appreciate your comment and sorry if I sounded abrupt, it wasn’t my intention.
      Perhaps the lighting did make a difference 🤷‍♀️ it is quite bright when I stand in front of the camera.

    Good afternoon, Wendy.. I need some help with my mica powders please!! I can stir my mica in my resin and never ever get the resin to break down all of the powder. Is there something I can do to help break it down in my resin? I have tried mixing it in a smaller amount of resin and then adding it to the rest of my resin and that does help but not all the way.. HELP PLEASE... Thank You!

      There are some micas that do the same for me but it’s really down to the brand. Have you tried sieving it?
      Or maybe putting it in a pestle and mortar?
      I do think the idea of mixing it in a small cup is a good thing to do.
