I'm pretty new to crochet (at nearly 70) so this was a bit of a struggle for me in terms of working with something so small. Although my finished skull looks a little ragged I'm truly pleased I was able to make this! Your instructions are SO clear and precise it was no trouble to follow you at all. I'm going to have to check out your other tutorials - thanks so much!🥰
@@ComplicatedKnots absolutely! I'm picturing a tiny crochet skeleton marionette. I imagine it could be pretty challenging to design little bones but it could also be super interesting.
I would love to use the skull as a snail shell! The way it’s made all that would be needed is a lil slug guy to sew on and you have a cute Halloween snail! Definitely going to give that a go! Thank you for this pattern🥰
Dude! I can't remember if I said this in the video, but this skull? WAS DESIGNED FOR A SNAIL THAT IM WORKING ON. It wasn't quite right for the one im working on, but we are on the same wavelength!!
I love this pattern! My sister is getting married. Her theme is till death do us part. Her cake topper and other decorations are skeletons. I put a top hat on one and a veil on the other to make a bride and groom
Hearing you it's okay to use your pattern for selling at the very beginning of the video was so reassuring. The tutorial is so easy to follow with you narrating and the rows being highlighted! I'm going to make a skull for my friend and I can't wait to follow this tutorial
I love it so much! I love skulls and bones and I've been obsessed with make a full skelleton crochet, but I'm a beginner in doing my own crochet pattern 😅😅😅 so please please please! We need the full skelleton 🙏🙏🙏 thank you so much for sharing 🙌🙌🙌
I know I'm late to the party, but I made this last year, too, I swear. 😂 In fact, this was my second ever project that I made and I absolutely love it. The one I made was for my boyfriend, now I'm making one for myself and can't wait to make the skeleton, too. Kylie, if you ever read this, you are an inspiration. I love how you can just make yarn do what you want it to do, and I can't wait till I learn how to do that, too. ❤❤❤
Another substitute for the TR stitch is the Extended dc st. Yo once, insert hook in st , yo, pull thru st, yo pull thru 1 loop on hook, yo pull thru 2 loops on hook, yo pull thru last 2 loops on hook.
this is suuuuuch a good tutorial. I'm making my first amigurumi... a skeletal character with lots of difficult details because what else would you do right... and this is the successful start I need to gather strength for the rest hehe
tbh I do have some trouble reading patterns. Always have. Anyway, the typical rounds to decrease rows works. Just makes it a bit flat on the sides......This was a blast to make...
This is so, ridiculously, cool! I need to make HUNDREDS, now! I wonder how I could make a full-sized skull, too. Imma need to do some math (maybe, just quadruple the number of stitches. I dunno), cause that needs to be made, for sure! Yay! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
i ended up rolling it and doing the sides 2 rows of stitch one decrease and 1 full decrease and tie off. it was gonna be too big for what i wanted so i improvised and the excess ended up being the stuffing.
Creepy cool! I've always wanted to crochet a full skeleton, but as soon as I think about the rib cage and spinal column, I totally bail. (Eeee!! Ravelry friends)
Hello , I love the pattern, I only need help with the pattern when you start to close in the skull , I don’t understand the pattern can it possibly be broken down a little more for a total beginner???
idk what i'm doing wrong but at the end of doing the first side, I have more than 12 when I get to the 2nd to last step.. I re-tried it a few times and still end up with the same amount lol I'm gonna try again tomorrow. I even slowed the video down to try and watch you... I'LL FIGURE IT OUT EVENTUALLY 😂
Love this skull! Shame she skipped the tutorial for the left side of the side rather than skip it as this would have so helpful for a beginner like me!
Hello again :) I finished the wolf! I want to do this one next. Any way you could give me the written pattern so I don’t have to try to write it all down while watching your video? If not, no big deal! Thought I’d ask. :)
My count wasn't coming out right when I went to R35 and R36 for some reason...As much as I tried I finally gave up because I just coudn't get it right...oh well on to the next project...
Me too! I think the pattern is meant to say 27 single crochets from the teeth to the back in total, not 3 on the face, one around the eye and then 27. That's the only way I have been able to get it though. Maybe I got that wrong too? It's my 5th attempt. 😭
Oh I love this! But I was wondering, when making the face portion of it where you are working in the 4sc the ch3 and then 4sc, you worked 1dcr and 2sc but would you be able to use a single crochet puff stitch in those 2sc to make the cheek bones puff out more?
You absolutely could for a more cartoony efect! If you do, you might just have to adjust the stitches you put around the edge slightly, depending on how your puff is sitting.
This skull actually has a body! You can make the rest of the skeleton here: ruclips.net/video/samwxw4Ilvw/видео.html

I’ve been crocheting for 15 years but today this tutorial helped me make my first amigurumi! Thank you so much, I love my little skull buddy
I've made two of these now and i love them so much! I left one unstuffed and used it for a dice bag!
Love that! I have this mental image of you going "blurgh!" As you make him spit the dice out...
Yes more bones please!
Could be fun right? :)

I spent 3 days making this but it was so worth it, I love my crochet skully. Thank very much for the video! I'm making 3 so I wear then on a necklace

These are amazing. I love them! I would love the whole skeleton! I think I'm going to make some with catnip in them for the kitties at work
Love this idea! Put a little bell in them too for bonus points!!
@@ComplicatedKnots oh I think they will love that
@@Kaylawiththedachshunds Just a bell might not make any noise but a tink tink. Maybe stuff a small ball with a bell in, instead.
@@WastedTalent- oh that's a really good idea
Not to be negative, but yarn can be super dangerous for pets if ingested. I would not reccomended making a crochet cat toy.

I've been trying to find the perfect skull pattern. I cannot wait to get started on one now.
Well done you. You explain so well and it's not to slow. I'm loving it thank you!
Thanks!
Yay!!! This skull worked up so great! I need more bones to scale! Yes please 😁
Congrats on how well you explain the what and where👏 I really enjoyed your teaching style and the skulls are super cute 😍

I reckon x3 would do the trick 😂 if you do it you have to tag me so I can see!!
I’d start using a thicker yarn
i ended up rolling it and doing the sides 2 rows of stitch one decrease and 1 full decrease and tie off. it was gonna be too big for what i wanted so i improvised and the excess ended up being the stuffing.

Yes to the full Skeleton.

Great tutorial thank you. I would love a whole skeleton please.
I love your patterns and so thank you so much ❤
I just finished him it’s so cute
When you did the “in the round” portions, did you slip stitch and chain 1 or is this just a spiral in the round? Mine came out wonky. Lol
Excellent tutorial!! Thank you!

Love it. Great tutorial. Can't wait to see what you have next t ♥️
How many ply of yarn did you used on the orange skull?? Do you have a tutorial for bigger skull? Tysmmmm 🥰
Compelling storytelling, exciting details! Let's watch this documentary together.

Can you know how to do a skull octopus.
I am new to crocheting and I did the small one of this I would like to do a bigger one but I am unsure how to go about that can any one help thanks.
Amazing!!! Thank you so much for this! I love them!!
Hey, couldn't we just crochet the edges of the inner face while making the border stitches for the skull face strip?
Your channel is amazing, tysm for the tutorial. You deserve so many more subs :)
Brilliant ❣️ Thank you.
Love this skull! Shame she skipped the tutorial for the left side of the side rather than skip it as this would have so helpful for a beginner like me!
Did you just use a larger hook for the bigger one ?
Interesting construction 😁 I like it tho 😊 minimal sewing I love ☺️
I am interested in making the large head skull (the goldish color one) is there a pattern or tutorial for it?
It's this one! Just with bigger yarn and a suitably sized hook.
@@ComplicatedKnots Thanks
What yarn and hook size did u use? Tyyy

RW 35. She getting to fast to see what she is doing. 😢
Making this for my science teacher who has a skeleton next to her desk
May I ask, are you using the same size needle for the skull as you did in the very beginning?(3.5mm needle?)

The bigger skull? I used bulky yarn :)
