The anime represented the game very well. A meloncholy storyline of a ironically very human experience given the setting and technology.

Not following up with a Season 2 is probably the smartest thing to do - you don‘t mull a good wine. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a Masterpiece - Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 1 would years down the line become a good first season of a show that somewhere along the line lost it‘s way and fizzled out - like all shows do.
True! Playing devil’s advocate though, isn’t it better to keep the story alive in people’s minds for longer? Even if it eventually fizzled out, the collective attention would remain on something with a lot of potential as opposed to simply letting everyone move on
@@bumperjumper Fair point, but instead of a Season two of Edgrunners - they could do an entirely different show in the same universe - like Edgerunners: Trauma Team for example

A great video made and told so incredibly awesome about a masterpiece arguibly the best anime I've ever seen.....even my youtube video standards are now being raised to a crazy level! Totally agree with you and to be really honest I was pretty sad when I've read the sequel was not happening. To be honest what are the chances that this perfect story will be ruined by a sequel and what are the ones that will even elevate or expand it to something good? I'm not sure but in any case the sequels (because as everything good it should become a trilogy) will never ruin the perfection of the first one so what do we have to lose? To try to make a sequel which stands or exceeds the standards of the first one will make it or not but still its a try. I rather prefer to see a tentive for greatness than total absolution to avoid to fail. I hope they will make some more keeping the same ppl who created the first one.

CDPR doesnt afford too much creative liberty, last time they did people jumped on them for having an advertisement of a 'queer' character in Cyberpunk2077. Trigger on the other hand is unapologetically creative, fighting for their views and thankfully we got Rebecca due to their efforts. Because of this I do believe a second season won't be arriving anytime soon. Personally if there is anything else from Trigger that is cyberpunk-related, I'd like it to be about the origins of Morgan Blackhand, Adam Smasher or some other legend that had a drink in the afterlife. Hell, I'd love to see a cannon V and observe the difference between V and David since atm game V is leagues above David in combat prowess.
Between you and me, I think the game is pretty mid. It feels held back which is in agreement with your point that CDPR tries to play it safe. Trigger was the seasoning on this masterpiece And yeah, those are dope ideas; following Roche Bartmoss would be really cool too
@@bumperjumper The game is held back quite a lot, not only social-wise but gameplay-wise too. They tackled a task larger than life and ended up not delivering in all fields as much as they promised. As for a show about Bartmoss, shieeet, they would have so much creative freedom that it's hard to imagine. If Trigger worked directly with Mike Pondsmith we would have so much lore and tid-bits that it will be spoken of for years.
It did not change anime forever. It was okay. Maybe to someone who doesn’t watch anime like that, or to someone who’s on entry. But their are more compelling series out there. The show was good, but it wasn’t great. The voice actor team from edgerunners come from bigger projects like Demon Slayer, Dragon ball super even retro stuff like ghost in the shell. All of those I mentioned actually changed anime. Some are 30 years old. Then you have series like Gundam whom have 40 years of information. That’s Star Wars lvl lore. But theirs better in my opinion.
For me its not the best anime, but its very good. About a sequence, its better to let it go, I fear a sequence could ruin it. I mean that end is great.
This show is beautiful but I laughed so hard when you said “Lucy groped a minor.” I totally forgot how you g David was. Hopefully Lucy is actually only a year older than him?
No, a season 2 wouldn’t be on brand for cyberpunk. In that universe there are no happy endings and great lives….. only great deaths and just like in the TTRPG it’s based on, there is no “winning”: The people of night city and the characters we play as and are friends with live fast and die young. (Even V is doomed)
I never understood the "I'm Special" Mentality. I knew i was never destined for greatness or any other bullshit. I sure as hell dont believe most people think they are special only Entitled brats.
It’s painful for someone to admit “I’m average” or “I’m nothing special,” and it sounds bad to blatantly say “I’m special.” Almost everyone wants to be the main character of their story though. Believing that we are special is a way to justify some of our actions. Whether it’s sports, career, or believing we are a “good catch” in relationships, it’s much harder to find someone who believes they’re special than someone completely in service/reverence to others
@@bumperjumper I find the opposite true there are so many that say they aren't different just another person silent not caring about the stupidity of the week. I think this is the main difference between how you grow up and where you grow up. As i started to find people from cities i found the "I'm Special" Mentality to become extremely common and Suffocating to be around.
I agree with everything you said but the pacing is the only thing holding the show back (I know this is probably Netflix’s fault it’s just the way it is for new shows) but still it moves way too quickly for the impact it’s trying to have :(
I’ve heard that from several people; I didn’t have that issue myselfx but I like to say that if sooo many people’s problem with the show is that they wanted more of it, then you’ve got a banger!

I also loved the Easter eggs they included in 2077
@@bumperjumper oh yeah for sure, I feel like Edgerunners is the Mandalorian of the franchise carrying the height on its shoulders lol. But I’ll definitely be game for more especially in anime but I’ll take what I can get lol
I would love a Rebecca prequel!!! Great idea!
The anime represented the game very well. You follow someone from the bottom who rises up with the help of unexpected friendships but due to the harsh nature of the lifestyle and city, the result isnt a completely happy one.
A meloncholy storyline of a ironically very human experience given the setting and technology.
Tbh I have to agree with you. This anime was so amazing as masterpiece it changes the other emotional impacts of other anime.
Exactly! Well said
amazing video brother
Really appreciate it!!
Ok i find out is the first 2 ep and in the game David's mom died because part stealing ripper doc killed her also another idea is Lucy one of the time connect herself to David while David unconscious it's a ide of same in 2077 because last scene David dying with smile and after Lucy see David in moon same story of 2077
Life-changing masterpiece just as the game
aw man, you're so right about the ending, i almost cried. and yeah, also agreed 4 is better than 6, but that's not to say 6 is bad :3 it's beautiful and important.
Yeah episode 6 is like the payoff that episode 4 had established. Episode 6 is the “what” but 4 is the “why” as in making us care and establishing the relationships between the characters. Episode 4 is what made 6 slap harder than my dads belt growing up 😂
@@bumperjumper yeah, that's well said, with the "Episode 6 is the “what” but 4 is the “why”"
Story was written by CDPR writers, lots of music is music from the game itself (yes, that song as well)..
very nice break-down, thank you
Not following up with a Season 2 is probably the smartest thing to do - you don‘t mull a good wine.
@@evilsohn true! The trauma team comics are really great too.
Idk, if I was one of the writers of the show I would think to myself “do we want to invest and possibly gamble the reception of completely new characters or expand on the ones we know everyone loved?” Following a new crew sounds dope but there’s always a risk of not being well received. Maybe that’s pessimism tho
@@bumperjumper omg - I wasn‘t even aware of these comics 😱 will have to try and get my hands on them 😄
But you‘re right, completely new characters would be a gamble. We‘ll see what the future has im store 🙌🏼
0:04 Oh YES
AKIRA in 1988 then Ghost in the shell in 1995, two cult films that marked Japanese animation forever. We will have to wait until 2022 to see the Cyberpunk Edgerunners show an atomic bomb ❗
Cyberpunk Edgerunner inspired by the Cyberpunk 2077 games, a universe also inspired by Ghost in the shell of companies working on implants intended for the army to be faster stronger. David the circumstances the death of his mother finds an implant which is grafted in the back. After some hesitation, he grafts the implant that will make him faster. The meeting with Lucy will change her life and meet the Edgerunners, a gang that works to eliminate for sponsors. A world that put implants is daily but at a cost. David will go all the way as his mentor having extraordinary capacities to support these grafts they will be noticed and will have to be forced to graft an armor. Lucy's dream go to the moon to contemplate the earth with David...
Cyberpunk Edgerunners must see.
This is very interesting review. Im surprised with how bad Netflix shows have been, this gives me hope for the anime they'll host soon. This has a very Orwellin theme to it but also the 80s/90s punk era. Thanks for the review! I shall watch this
Thanks a bunch! I agree that Netflix shows gave me a bad taste for a while but cyberpunk Edgerunners completely took me by surprise!
Everything is pain? Sounds familiar.
Hmm I wonder ? DOOM SLAYER! Can u tank Adam Smashe-
Doom slayer: *rips off Adam smashers head* yes
Smasher wouldn’t stand a chance!
"This would be a cool song to listen to while driving" me whenever it plays on the radio in game.. no, no it isn't ;-;
I laughed so hard at that sandavistaction joke my whole family got startled
15:51 Adam Sandler
woo my fav choom with some more updates, well that sucks seeing they ended it and saying hes really dead some how till they show what really happen hes alive for me johnny silverhand was said to be dead but he was alive in a chip i think they lies about david being dead to throw people off on spoilers but hey who knows david and the crew will always be in are hearts, that being said the dlc is drawing closer i am ready how about you guys
I‘m really excited for the DLC - but I‘m even more excited, that RTalsorian Games - the team that invented the world of Cyberpunk that Edgerunners und 2077 are taking place in are coming out with an Edgerunners TTRPG Kit 😱
Agreed! They live on in our hearts. I’m really curious to see what the dlc will cover
That sounds dope @evilsohn
I need season 2 😭😭
its just perfect
I very much disagree that most people would agree they are special
They should make a non Canon 2nd season and let Lucy and David have a happy ending
I love the video the only reason people like the game it's because the anime made them want to give it a second chance
I appreciate it, Dwayne!!
@@bumperjumper it's good to see your back and also the comment that you replied to wouldn't complete
@@bumperjumper I missed your personality
@@dwayneasher6765 I see your full comment now! Yeah, it’s astounding how a 10 episode show completely revived a game so many people had given up on
@@dwayneasher6765 really appreciate it! Means a lot, especially since I’m looking to be on camera/show my face more in my videos!
you just liked the show because it remember your past life. great
0:45 it’s sounds like dark souls. But the way those two things fuck with my emotions and the hope the hope is represented from the bonfires or that Adrenalin when u kill that boss and the Dread is represented from the amount of times you will die to an enemy everytime you die to the same thing you lose you will to do it again until you hollow its all abt learning from those mistakes all in all cyberpunk edgerunners is the best anime I’ve seen and the souls series is the best game series
And don’t even get me started on sekiro
Also change my mind Kratos no diffs the cyberpunk universe
Something off topic my dream job is joining the military dying for our freedom
Yeah the story abides by the rules it sets in Edgerunners; no plot armor. I love sekiro!
Of course I hope you wouldn’t have to give your life but living in service to the collective is very admirable :)
@@bumperjumper thanks for your opinion dude I love your channel and you content keep doing what u do best 👍
@@AnxiousCinder thanks so much!! Means a lot
Never heard someone mispronounce the word apathetic so much in such a short time.
It’s like the word futile. Sure you can say “fuetil” but it doesn’t sound as cool as FUE-TILE
Trigger was the seasoning on this masterpiece
And yeah, those are dope ideas; following Roche Bartmoss would be really cool too
@@bumperjumper The game is held back quite a lot, not only social-wise but gameplay-wise too.
@@4k51. well said brother
I think that rock is called death metal 😂
Grindcore specifically if I’m not mistaken

Cons of keeping rebecca in a show: rebecca is in a show.
Pros of keeping rebecca in a show: Smasher can goomba stomp her.
Least obvious ragebait
@@b.g.31_58 no bait, i honestly find her annoying and Smasher episode is my favorite
No, Kory in the House changed anime forever.
Life is meaninful
For me its not the best anime, but its very good. About a sequence, its better to let it go, I fear a sequence could ruin it. I mean that end is great.
So its official, David is really dead ? Or they said that to give us a surprise of a season 2
This show is beautiful but I laughed so hard when you said “Lucy groped a minor.” I totally forgot how you g David was. Hopefully Lucy is actually only a year older than him?
nice
Thanks a bunch!
No, a season 2 wouldn’t be on brand for cyberpunk. In that universe there are no happy endings and great lives….. only great deaths and just like in the TTRPG it’s based on, there is no “winning”: The people of night city and the characters we play as and are friends with live fast and die young. (Even V is doomed)
comment for the algorithm.
I appreciate it!!
It's great, but I doubt it changed anime forever
So sad man
I actually love this RUclipsr so much
Also cyberpunk edgerunners is the best anime ever made in this generation
Wow thanks so much!! Edgerunners is my favorite show of all time
i was here
2 episodes were filler btw.
Sandevistation 😆
I agree with everything you said but the pacing is the only thing holding the show back (I know this is probably Netflix’s fault it’s just the way it is for new shows) but still it moves way too quickly for the impact it’s trying to have :(
I’ve heard that from several people; I didn’t have that issue myselfx but I like to say that if sooo many people’s problem with the show is that they wanted more of it, then you’ve got a banger!
no it didn't.
Did you fall asleep during the show?
The Show ended like Berserk!'s Eclipse
