    AN AFRICAN art collection worth a staggering $10 MILLION has been uncovered in a notorious area of New York. Eric Edwards from Bedford-Stuyvesant - a neighbourhood made famous by rappers Jay Z and Biggie Smalls - has collected more than 1,600 artefacts over the last 44 years. The 68 year old, who travelled the world to acquire his collection, now hopes to share it with the world by opening up a museum to celebrate African culture. Eric was introduced to African art and culture by his father, who moved to America from Barbados when he was 18.

      Yes, England is really bad: they also stole from China, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Finland. Indonesia, India (a lot), Irak, Iran, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Canada.. the list could go on.

    Wow! Amazing African art collection! I loved it! Everything! The Yombe, Bamum, Yoruba, Baule, Bamana and Senufo statues, the Maconde, Igbo and Akan masks, even the small Venavi figure on the shelf on your right. Just beautiful! I do collect some African art myself, Dinka dolls and Nkisis just a few. Bless you for sharing! I had a great time!

      Most of this stuff looks like made for the decorator trade reproductions. A number of items are clearly good and old, but that "million dollar" "palace" drum? Too big to use and to too crude to be legit.

      It was loaned to the Metropolitan museum of art, so whilst it’s original ownership and purpose may be ambiguous it deafeningly has some degree of authentic historical importance.

    • @LouiseStastny
      @LouiseStastny 7 лет назад +2

      the statues are at home there, he has to keep them safe. They don't need temperature, just dusting. Age fractures don't diminish their value. I keep them here too, the mothers who's twins died commissioned a carver to make an effigy of the spirit of the dead. They are fed put to bed and keep the living family safe. They are strong and fragile at the same time. Get a collection of your own, bead them..they protect the home..even tho some are Ba'al and Dan and a little wicked. They watch everything even with their eyes shut. Little devils..but amazing power. Someone has to take care of the orphan ones that are on Ebay. Get them back to their roots.

    • @henrylivingstone2971
      @henrylivingstone2971 3 года назад

      What ? When did he ever say his undeniably encourages the ivory trade, he happens to have tusks in his collection, which may or may not be real considering the sheer amount of replicas and tourist items in his collection that the man insists are real, while his collection might be shoddy his intentions are his own and he has never explicitly supported the slaughter of elephants, and if they are real he has probably acquired them in accordance to CITES guideline or they’re probably harvested prior to 1900 or 1970.
