Corsair's commitment to iCUE is what's causing many of the problems. iCUE is just... bad. And the problem is you need it even for their fans - even though most competitors just use ARGB instead of some proprietary BS. As of now the only products of theirs I buy are power supplies because theirs are my go-to ones after seeing some PSU tests - very reliable for years - other than that I prefer other brands for either price or features.
Honestly I've never had issues with iCue - love the fluency of it.. My scimitar pro mouse does sometimes disconnect from the RGB side of things but I did buy second hand for £20 lol, my headset stand and k70 headset still stay connected tho
Corsair doesn’t even make their psus. If you want a good psu, seasonic made all of the good Corsair psus. I will give a nod to the ax1600i since it is the only consumer psu made by flextronics. I would also add, since evga is sadly going away, their oem for their better psus is superflower. They tend to be my go-to as they seem to perform slightly better than competing seasonics.
@@Sheltada nope. We do have a channel that tests PSUs with all the gear in both 25 and 40C environments. Corsair, Cooler Master and a local brand called PCYes passed all tests with all their PSUs so they're the 'go-to' brands here. Curiously even EVGA failed one of the tests. Those tests are authentic since they don't get sent the samples by the manufacturer, they buy the sample PSUs out of pocket.
The fact that my K70 MK.2 has survived so many spills and shrugged them off like nothing ever happened impresses me to no end. Last time i spilled on it it kinda freaked out on me and started ghost-typing, but after letting it sit for a day to dry it worked as normal again. I don't think any crappy razer keyboard could handle me being clumsy. Top tier build quality imo.
They literally did nothing to make that keyboard more water resistant. You are getting the experience any keyboard with cherry switches would have against water. Also you did get a bit lucky. Don't get me wrong that keyboard is pretty nice but I don't see a reason to praise a company for something they didn't really do.
same story with my strafe rgb one. spilled on it multiple times and not just water, mostly coke and milkshakes and after a bit of drying works absolutly fine. i did replace it tho after 5 years in use space supports started to fail, bought strafe rgb 2. For me corsair keyboards have exeptional quality
My experience is a bit different. My K95 Platinum keyboard has been rock solid and a joy to use buy my Dark Core SE mouse was so buggy that I thought my PC was failing, I had to do a warranty replacement for my MP600 SSD within two months (thankfully the customer service person I had was helpful so no complaints with that), and on a previous build the Corsair power supply failed in a year (my local computer shop replaced it with a Thermaltake that lasted for about 6 years until I gave away that PC) and the power button often did not work reliably. I'll never write off a brand completely but I've definitely had better luck with Logitech and Jabra peripherals, Samsung or Crucial SSDs, and the NZXT provided power supply in my current build.
I’ve had a few issues. Headset weak signal, which I couldn’t turn my head without dropping. Had to delete icue 4 to download icue 5. Headset dial is starting to skip volume levels. My keyboard is is not reliable with it being wireless. A lot of issue is being wireless, which I consider still early adoption, but man it sucks when it does
I only use it to manage my ram sticks, I like the effects, I personally use the colours to show temperature of various components on the sticks, very neat, tho it's a bit of a performance hog. I wouldn't use it to manage anything else if given chance, not even this tho.. Earlier this year iCue decided to fuck up my mouse acceleration at each restart, I spent days trouble shooting, until I found that iCue was acting up. That's really not acceptable. Buuuut... ASUS armoury crate made me realize that iCue could be ALOT worse. holyy moly that software is more like a malware. Also on a side note, I just decided to contact support because one of my ram sticks has issues with the rgb, they responded with in a day, asked to attempt 1 quite easy fix, didn't work, got RMA accepted within hours. Maybe luck, maybe that Europe has things better, who knows. Only gripe is that I'll need to find temporary memory for my system because they'll send me the new kit only after I've sent the old kit back
Just don't get their budget options which had really bad rep. Their higher-end options though are some of the most reliable on the market such as the RM series.
I didn't realize corsair grew so much into those other spaces. I knew them first as a RAM company. They also did good with power supplies and computer cases. But that was basically it. I feel like they grew too much and diluted what they were good at.
0:26 "Since then it has been downhill for the company" This is common misunderstanding by newbies that doesn't understand how companies work and how stocks work. The value of a stock in a company has very little relation on how the company itself does. The stock does not represent trading volume or success of the company. A stock can trade high and go up, even if a company is doing poorly, and vice versa. 1:42 These reviews doesn't mean anything, because only people who are unhappy go and leave reviews.
That's awesome, their new keyboards are built much more poorly. My K70 Mk.2 lasted two years, it still kind've works but cuts out from letting me type every couple seconds
My main rig has a corsair rmx 850W PSU and it's been rock solid for me - but I'm on linux with all my machines, so anything needing iCue is off the table on pricinple.
I run a good mix of Corsair, Logitech and ASUS components and peripherals on Linux, never touched iCue. For keyboards and RGB peripherals, OpenRGB and CKB-Next seem to do the job just fine.
@@ErikGjertsenyeah, OpenRGB is great for overall lighting, and CKB-Next is good for assigning buttons for the mouse. However, it IS lagging in terms of support for the 60% and 65% keyboards. Much as I hate to say, if one wants great community support for gaming products, Razer via OpenRazer is where it's at.
As a Custom Mechanical Keyboard enthusiast, I can say that there has been a stark improvement since they acquired Drop. Drop since then has provided affordable first party offerings (CSTM Series Keyboards and DCX Keycaps) as opposed to the subpar overpriced stuff they were selling before.
My fairly 750w Corsair PSU burned out two years ago. Replaced it with a 15 year old Corsair 550W and have had no problems since. Like so many companies they quickly plummet in quality after going on the stock market.
Most of them very weird right 😅 like i thought if a company wants to becomes successful focus in reliability , affordability, and quality it seems most of them are brain dead for some reason.
@@Knightmare919 They're all about short term profits. If they have established themselves as a quality brand, then they will both sell and can charge a premium price. So why not produce the cheapest garbage possible for a while and read in the profit margin between premium pricing and bottom bin components?
I remember buying some Corsair stock in late 2020 but I got cold feet and sold because I couldn't fathom how they'd be able to successfully expand into new markets or expand their current market share.
Bought a 4000d airflow case when i built my current pc and i found it to be outstanding. Cant say much about their other products as ive only bought power supplies, fans, and cases from them which has all been great
Their cases are always very well built. I have a 5000D and the fit and finish is phenomenal. If it had full 3*140 Fan support and better fan brackets it would be the best single chamber case around.
Corsair is way more than that. They have great products with really good performance and tech. But the most important part is that they use quality not just some cheap plastic. You probably never used a Corsair product and if so, you’re not their target group of people
@@komegaming3500doesnt matter, i bought the k95 keyboard some years ago and 2days after the keycaps fell off and broke, their PSU just blew up my pc and their customer support just pretty much told me to F off and the mouse died 3months after purchase and dont get me started on the redicilouse excuse of a software they have
Corsair actually does a lot of things right, the community basically loves them and me personally I’ve been running a PSU from them over others simply because of the positive warranty experiences
Please don't talk about Asus as if it was a top brand. In this video you could be talking about corsair or asus and you wouldn't need to change anything but the title. Asus blames the customers because of damage done to the RMA hardware, they will ask the customers to pay for THEIR mistakes, increase the bill without any way for you to appeal anything. You should look into it, because talking like that about Asus could mislead someone to buy their products now. Yes, they used to be a good company if not the best among hardware thingies but not anymore. Those poor guys writing those reviews could very easily be Asus'
My CV450W (2020 Q4) power supply withstanded a direct hit lightning strike, It just turned off, no hardware damaged and got back up and running. It's been running fine for 2 years after that incident.
I guess its not the same for everyone. I had a great customer service from corsair. One time I broke my 4000D's glass panel, they sent me a replacement for free, no questions asked. My ddr4 dominator platinum had one LED that wasnt lightimg up, corsair offered to send me another set and made me choose if I want DDR4 or DDR5, and didnt even required me to send back the old ram. Now I have 4 sticks of ram, sweet!
From trouble shooting to even getting free fans, I’ve had really great customer service as well. I was unaware that Corsair had any sort of negative reputation.
My corsair headphones broke within 6 months of not regular use. Didn't suffer a drop or anything. As an 3rd year engineering student even I could see blatant structural design flaws. I was able to fix them with four 3cm long wires that I melted into the headphones. They sound great, but it doesn't fix the fact, that they brake so easily.
Update: today after 3 years (almost to the dot) of buying my headphones sound stopped working in one year. After taking the headphones apart I found out that it was a problem with the potentiometer and they were not repairable :/. Guess I'm going back to using my 10 year old headphones that were cheapest in the store and costed about 10 euros
The biggest fundamental issue which you didn't mention is money, people are struggling to pay bills they might still be spending on PC part's but they are looking for value for money and durability two thing's corsair used to be known for but not anymore. I learnt they were changing their approach to customers when the drive trays in my 700D broke (yes they were getting worse all that time ago) spoke to three customer service agent's all said it was a known issue and replacements would be sent I never received any. My RM corsair PSU blew damaging my motherboard was asked to send the faulty PSU back and when they received it a replacement would be sent again never received. My last corsair product was a headset that broke as I picked it up after just over six month's I just replaced it with another brand that's been going strong for three years. When I started buying components for my new build I never even thought or considered corsair my case is thermal take, my memory is team group, my drives are Samsung and my aio is arctic I don't trust corsair and I'm not over paying for products I have no faith in. I'm a lost customer who will never go back to corsair and I'm one of a very large group.
May I know what headset brand you went with? I have a Corsair Katar XT Pro mouse and while it worked for sometime, I have been having random disconnection issues when gaming and it seems as if I am not the only one. I was thinking of buy another keyboard, but with how others seem to be having similar problems to me, I don't think I will be.
I really want to like Corsair, but their recent quality decrease has made it pretty hard. Bought a brand new SF850L and it literally lasted just 2 hours before "blowing up". Took 4 weeks to get a new one from warranty, hopefully this one will last a little longer lol.
Corsair is the second Razer. Prices through the roof and RGB in everything. Though I've had good experience with their RMAs and free upgrades from them, can't complain about that. I'm running a setup with all-corsair fans and they perform better than fans that are about 2-4x more expensive. Insane static pressure and CFM at low RPM. Can't complain about some of their budget options.
@@drache3019 Have you seen the globe? No? Look at it, now see how many continents and countries exist outside the eurozone European countries. Cool. We learned something today.
@@POLARTTYRTM But that would also make Corsair fans insanely expenisve. Also if everything is more expenisve the proportions would still be the same so there would still not be a fan that is 4x as expensive.
I got a Corsair hs 75 headset it’s solid and they got good products. I just think their marketing isn’t the greatest I had to do a lot of research to find their products
@@LogicallyAnswered most of the time when I find their products it’s in the top 10 devices for a certain category but other than that I don’t hear many people talk about their products overall.
Well done Hari, great production. I recall your early videos (over 10 years ago?) before, I think, you were even shaving! 🙂 I knew then you were destined for greatness and this vid proves that yet again. Among the best production values and commentary on the web. Congrats.
You pretty much said everything here. To add on competition, gaming-centered brand appeal is just not the same anymore. When it comes to peripherals like keyboards, mouse, mic, headphones. The majority of the good ones are not from gaming company and it is advised to actually avoid them. It is especially so when it comes to mic and headphone, studio stuff are just plain better. The competition on best gaming mouse is absolutely insane, and keyboards? I can't even begin to start just how MANY wonderful mechanical keyboards out there. Awesome vid, quite odd that it has no music, I'd say revert back even though it's a nice change of pace. Keep up the good work.
I built a computer in 2018. Corsair Fans, RAM, Keyboard, Mouse, and Headphones. The Dark Rock RGB mouse went bad first in a year. Got another a replacement from them. The replacement failed quickly. Bought a logitech g502. The headphones were next, the mute button failed and it never really muted entirely in the first place. I bought Sennheiser. Next was the fans. The RGB went bad on all 4 fans. I checked the hub, plugged them into a different machine, completely bad. Decided to drop rgb and get Be Quiet fans. All in a year to a year and a half. Next within the two year mark, two of my 4 sticks of RAM failed. They sent me a new 4 stick kit and within another year 2 more failed. I'm still using 2 of theirs, but when these go out I'll buy another brand. Only good thing I bought was their keyboards, but I switched to Dygma anyways. Oh and a friend had bought a 2019 Aventum PC from digital storm and his corsair power supply went bad in 2022. So, yeah. I'm never buying Corsair again. Customer service wasn't bad, but that was a lot of money for shitty product. Everything else I've bought is still going strong.
Can confirm, Icue is indeed a fucking dumpster-fire. And i hate that people praise it for apparently being "the best peripheral software out there" cuz it's clearly not. For instance for my Virtuoso RGB Wireless Headset, whenever i have icue installed, the low-battery sound-indicator is just... gone... Those agonizing "voice prompts" it seems to put in place of those aren't working either... As soon as i uninstall icue, everything works fine again. This may not sound like a big issue, but remember, it's a WIRELESS headset. I don't like having my headset turning off in the middle of a game randomly (in many games then disabling the sound-output entirely until restarted). Honestly, If i need any new device, it's not gonna be from Corsair. Not because of the Hardware, but the Software.
Corsair is a corporate investor overlord run shell of its former self. Its being exploited for profit by the Francisco Partners holding firm and now the Eagle Tree holding firm. Kinda strange that you're making a whole 12 minute video but don't mention the real reason why they suck now lol.
I was one of those that had to deal with Corsair customer service. I blacklisted them after that. I didn't realized there were so many other people with the same experience.
can we stop saying PSU's!? they don't break often at all, plus most of them are rebranded lol Please this is not an indication of a quality company product when its 99% the same as other with a corsair logo on it.
I just bought some Corsair Memory, Case, and power supply. I hope it all turns out ok. I have purchased their power supplies and never had an issue. The problems you see are business-wide. For example, Lowes Home Improvement had storage totes on sale for 6.97 free delivery. They didn't ship them from the store but via FedEx from another state. They missed their promised delivery date and sent a broken tote. They refused to make good on it and wanted me to waste gas to fix their poor packaging and shipping of the totes. They didn't even use your shipping rap to protect the tops in shipping. All they did was throw the totes in a box and hope for the best.
Currently my PSU, fans, AIO, RAM, mouse, and keyboard are all Corsair. A large part of it is so I can use iCUE to run everything rather then having different software to run everything. They have had some flops for sure but no other brand covers enough components to run on one controller program. If I chose to not use Corsair then I would be running NZXT's CAM for my AIO and fans, MSI Mystic Light for my RGB and Razer Synapse for my mouse and keyboard. That would use up much more resources then just running iCUE alone. I do not use their headsets though as I use studio quality mics and headphones / speakers and their monitors dont have any real benefits to go with them over anything else other then looking at each monitor objectively so I have an LG.
Got a replacement for a an RM1000i because it had a problem with the current inrush protection causing sparks when turning psu on. I was upgraded to one of their newer RM1000 units, and I had no receipt at all. I actually bought the psu second hand and still got a replacement. At no extra cost at all. I think that’s pretty good customer service. Also, while iCue isn’t perfect, you can do a lot with it, more than the average user would need to.
The GN video recently was more about RMAs and poor customer service, and that tends to be very region-specific. But ASUS have been having lots of QA issues in general on the motherboard side, it's difficult to know a decent motherboard manufacturer these days...
@@peterwstacey Oh I absolutely went and watched that video! I am so pissed that they did that! They sent the ROG Ally in for a thumb drift issue and ended up getting quoted hundreds in repair for irrelevant shit that had nothing to do with why they sent the thing in. I am absolutely appalled at Asus for that. I will never give them my money ever again after watching GN video. Same reason I don’t fuck with Linus anymore. Gamers Nexus is out here doing the lords work!
I can’t speak for everyone but I haven’t had a single problem with any corsair products and I’ve been using them for almost a decade. My K70 is almost 10 years old and still works great. I have an RM850x, 4000d, 6 corsair ml series fans, corsair vengeance ram, and an H115i that are all over 3 years old by now and have never had any problems. Love the products and will continue using them.
I had some issues with elite line-up, M65 Elite mice and 120mm fans in particular - mice would misclick/doubleclick, fans had their rgb burn out. However contacting support was a breeze - had my products swapped to ML120 fans and M65 Ultra mice. I own a lot of corsair stuff (k70 pro, 4000x, rm850x, fan hub), it's rock solid and feels well built.
I have a Corsair 32" 4k monitor for photo and video work, I'm probably going to get another. I loved their keyboards, but I outgrew wanting gamer stuff and RGB. ROG however, pricey and clunky lately
yea sorry to tell you that monitor is just rebranded LG. the only monitor they have that is mostly theirs is he flex. but seeing how flexible displays is LG and samsung its prob rebranded as well.
@nicholaswilkerson501 totally fine with that. Everything is a rebranded something, but the argument there is an oversimplification. I use physical calibration tools and the ease of switching studio/movie/game modes is a convenient thing I map to my loupe deck.
Now this makes sense. No wonder i ordered their elgato wave3 microphone on their official website but received wave1. And i provided all necessary information and made a ticket, well, its been two years, they never responded…
@@admiralkaede You know what, Elgato HQ was actually in my city, I even threatened to bring signs to their HQ, but they still didn't respond. BTW, they definitely received that correctly because of their auto reply. But that was like Covid time and I did understand maybe the high demand, and then basically I just waited. Now I know I am not alone.
Trustpilot reviews don't mean shit when 99% of the people there had a bad experience. You're more inclined, psychologically, to reivew something when you had a bad experience rather than a good one.
4:45 I got mine on sale during black friday; hugely recommend. You bend it more than you think. VERY useful for switching between creative and comfy tasks.
I have a Corsair case, case fans, headset, AIO, RAM, and PSU, and I will never buy another Corsair product except a power supply, which works great. I also used to own a Corsair keyboard and mouse. The problem for me is not iCUE - I’m someone who just sets it and forgets about it, the problem is the hardware itself. I have a white build and run everything with white lighting, and on the RAM, case fans, and AIO, several of the green led’s have died, meaning when set to white they appear pink. I also had this issue with the keyboard I used to have with a few of the keys. It means now I can only use colours that only use red or blue is some combination, or have the eye sore of mostly white with random pink led’s. I’ve also tried individually turning off certain led’s but it just looks poor. Another problem I have is the headset doesn’t support hardware lighting like every other component does, and so I have to run iCUE in the background at all times just so the headset doesn’t have the RGB enabled which significantly drains the battery life.
They’ve been replacing materials in their existing-new products making them worse. It’s disappointing, all of my Corsair products in the past four years have broken.
I’m shocked so many people have had bad experiences. My AIO and Fans/Cooling setup with the controller in the back has served me well for years. Never had an issue and found the installation process to be very simple. Never used any peripherals of theirs though but I’ve heard good things about them too.
Software engineer here. "Just fix the software" is not something that happens overnight, it is a LOT of work. I've worked for a "we are hardware company" company before, and the management never understands the value of software. These companies always invest in software to "only just make it work, we don't make no money out of software anyways". And that's a problem.
I've always been a diehard Logitech man with my peripherals, but have used Corsair PSUs and RAM on many past builds because of their known quality and reliability. Based on my good experiences there, I tried a Corsair headset, and let me tell you, never again. Snapped within the first year and I had to fight Corsair tooth and nail. Insisted the damage was my fault and not a defect. With Logitech, sure I've had a few products fail on me under warranty, but every single time I've made one 20 minute phone call to support and had a brand new replacement on my door step in a week, no questions asked. And in this day in age, if any company can't provide that level of support for their projects, they're not gonna last IMO.
Used to be a Corsair fan but the new build I did for myself a month ago to replace my old system didn't use ANY of their stuff. I'm still using a Corsair Keyboard and a Corsair SP2500 Speaker system. That's how much I had faith in them back then. If any of these 2 things break in the near future, I'm getting something else. Then again the Corsair stopped making speakers after the one I am using lol.
Just replaced my Corsair CX500 PSU after 9 years of heavy use, that thing went through everything, power outages, under-voltages, over voltages, you name it. Was gonna buy a new Corsair as a replacement, but bought an EVGA instead, I hope it lasts as long.
My Corsair PSU RMA experience just this year was nothing short of excellent. I don't think other companies could emulate the ease with which I ordered an advanced RMA where I provided evidence of the fault within the form and I received a replacement within a matter of days, no ifs, no buts. Despite that, I have heard of issues with their iCue software from people that I know so this is something folks reading this can avoid or find better alternatives to. I don't think Corsair can be put in to the same breath as Asus, but they should get competent software peeps to redo the software issues that have been reported, this would instill confidence back in to the whole RGB element of their brand.
As someone who is always looking for best products and just upgraded my old $6k setup for $13k setup, I can pretty much tell Corsair is still Apple in PC category. Most of their products are still best available on the market. Had K95 Platinum Speed before as best gaming keyboard. Now I purchased Corsair again, K100 OPX this time. And God this keyboard is masterpiece. But today it's not some plastic Vengeance RAM anymore, it's Dominator Titanium, literally well known best RAM available without any competitor. Along with those crazy Corsair QX120 with TimeLapse mode which destroys those popular Lian-li fans. They don't just make RGB without any limitation (and holy shit, making RGB illusion of fans not spinning is mindblowing) but also best quality and performance products. These RAMs are not just some cheap plastic. They are heavy AF. With quality board you can overclock 7200Mhz to 8680Mhz. Like Holy shit. And there are other products like Corsair 1000D etc. which are just best of best. Problems are budget of people. They will rather buy low-budget 0 quality crap from Asus etc. Making products with no quality and low price is win in this world. Quite sad tbh.
I've only had one Corsair product, and that was a recent attempt to install an H60X RGB Elite AIO. The standoffs that they supplied for AMD were threaded differently than what I had to work with. They fit the thumbnuts but not the cpu backplate, different threads. The standoffs also held the pump too far away to make contact with the cpu. I emailed Corsair to ask for help. It took two days for their first response, then 3 days for their second. Their third response, four days later, was simply to tell me to contact my computer manufacturer. I took that as "You're on your own", so I packed everything up in the box that it came in and returned it to them. A few days later, I get an email saying that since they hadn't heard from me in 5 days, they would be closing the ticket. This was a little confusing, since they had already told me to seek help elsewhere, which I took as the kiss of death from them. I responded to that email and told them that I had already returned the product and thanked them for not being able to help with their product.
I have always had good experiences with Corsair except for a keyboard I purchased from them many years ago that had a double clicking issue. For cooling I use icue link h150i aio, 9 QX120 and 3 QX140 fans. I also use the AX1600i psu and all of it works with the icue software without any issues. it is very easy and convenient to control rgb, fan profiles and monitor the power usage and efficiency of the psu in the same software. When I purchased this I sold my RM1000X and Hydro H100i Pro and both was still in good condition after more than 4 years of use.
I must be lucky, I have built 7 systems all with Corsair products, never had a problem, my own system has their XD5 pump/res controlled on a commander pro, 6 of their new RX 120 icue link fans, 32gb dd5 vengeance RGB ram, x2 Corsair 360 radiators, Corsair HX1000w PSU, iron claw mouse, K100 keyboard, Corsair Virtuoso se headset with their RGB headset stand with usb 3.0 ports, I have the MX800 RGB mouse mat and LS100 RGB ambient light strips, and icue runs it all with 4 different profiles for different scenarios i.e gaming, work, watching movies etc, and it works seamlessly and can swap between profiles with a click single click on my mouse. Oh I also have their Rush gaming chair which does kinda suck 😂
Is the iCue software bloated to hell? Yes. Does it change the fact, that their peripheals are superb? No. I have a K70 rapid fire and it drank more beer than the average german (as a german, I know that for a fact). It's still working. And about ppl complaining over crap support: they dont know anything. The last time I spilled my beer over my K70, it stopped working and only worked with ghosting after letting it dry. I asked the support if we can do something here, since I was just out of warranty (2 month over). Though they didnt replace it, they told me how to clean and hardware reset the keyboard. It still works fine. Only my Dark Core Pro RGB has issues with the dpi buttons after 5 years daily use.
Corsair is excellent at innovation and setting market trends. Everyone wanted a Corsair keyboard from 2013-2017 because nothing came close to that build qualiy. Everyone wanted Corsair ARGB Ram and Fans up until a few years ago because they had the best RGB on the market. Everyone wanted a Corsair power supply because of how good they were. Hell Corsair was the one who popularized white power supplies. The downfall of Corsair was it's unwillingness to lower it's prices, fix Icue and actually honoring warranties. Their keyboards are stupid expensive costing about the same or even more from when they first came out. What does a Corsair keyboard have at that price that other competitors don't at a lower price point? Same goes for their fans.Their RGB isn't so special anymore yet they charge a premium for it. Same for their power supplies. Ever since the Pandora box of all power supplies being made by a handful of manufactures became more widespread there wasn't a reason to pay extra for Corsair since others started making their power supplies in white.
Never had issues with Corsair products that I used previously including; keyboard, case, AIO, fans. Can’t speak on their other products. Icue has worked fine for me. Have you seen Gamer Nexus’ recent video on Asus? This pales in comparison haha
yea not true, corsair has had its day of crap overpriced products as well. and customer service is based on the person you get lol ASUS and Corsair are both overpriced rebranded products. RAM, monitors, AIO, power supplies and fans are all rebranded things lol $50 a fan today when lian li has had the same tech for years and are less than half that as an example. Most of the PC parts are owned and patented by someone else and then everyone rebrands it like it better than the competition when it's the same. just so you know for the future. lol
@@nicholaswilkerson501 I’m sharing my own past experience with some Corsair products lmao wtf made you think writing an essay not remotely referencing anything I just said would make you sound intelligent? ASUS is shitting the bed, it’s not “based on the person you get”.
Do not agree with a lot of this... Every Corsair product I've got is rock solid apart from an RGB mouse pad I've got that started buzzing. They replaced it not once but TWICE for free because the replacement had a bright spot in the lighting. I also didn't have to return either of the faulty products. That's some of the best customer service I've ever had. iCue isn't amazing but it works for me once it's setup.
That’s what I was saying Corsair support is actually really good, you almost immediately start talking to a real person right away through email within a day, I’m not sure what they’re saying about support because my experience has been opposite.
I just bought a vengeance i7500 recently. It’s great. They’re quick to respond to support. Bought the corsairone 1080ti back in the day and it’s still going strong. So i can’t complain.
Very interesting take, as someone fortunate enough to be able to build the highest end of computers, I can say that in PC parts department, with build quality, there isn’t company better than Corsair, I would say that only Lian Li is currently to only one that can go toe to toe with Corsair. Regarding iCue, for me it’s the best app with infinite possibilities to customize your hardware lighting, sure there are some problems sometime, but all it needs is a bit of troubleshooting and that’s it, I think the biggest problem is that amateurs are trying to build computers and then go crying into the reviews straight away, would be shame to see Corsair take a fall for their incompetence. Also don’t get me talking about ASUS and their warranty shenanigans in PC industry, also Asus Armory Crate is the worst app on the market, iCue is a blessing compared to that.
Corsair was my favorite brand since I got into this thing of ours. They may not have had the "best" at any one thing but everything they had was good solid quality. I still use a lot of their stuff when I can. Still haven't had a bad experience.
15 years ago they were pretty good company and liked products, now they all feel cheap and dont last long, and software is just bad. not lasting and bad software is kind of a industry norm sadly.
this just mean you take care of your keyboard. people have had crappy dell keyboards for 10 plus years. it doesnt mean its not a crappy product, just means you take care of it.
My new rig was built in a Corsair 5000T case, one of the case fans came connected incorrectly (only 2 pins connected). RGB worked but fan didn't spin. Connected it properly, fan spins & RGB works but fan doesn't show up to the system to adjust fan curves. Great. Powered the rig with an RM1000e PSU. 4 days into use the PSU died. Will not provide any power to the mobo. Killed the Corsair RAM I had installed too. No idea if it's killed/damaged anything else (storage, CPU, GPU) so my brand new 7800X3D/4090 system is just sitting in pieces while I wait for my RMA to finish so I can re-build my system and test everything else. At which point I guess I just hope I can get any other damaged items replaced under warranty. I guess I also just hope that my second PSU doesn't decide to blow as well because I don't really want to have to drop another ~$300-400NZD on another PSU. Do. Not. Buy. Corsair.
I'm lucky enough I got my corsair ram pre pandemic. So when I had issues they swapped them out. Their fans and fan controller have thankfully always worked for me. For how much it cost I'd be livid too if they started malfunctioning
I know Corsair and some of its products. Their PSUs are still recommended tho not much as some other brands. What everyone recommends and almost always has a good review is, Corsair Vengeance RAM. So popular to the point I barely see anyone flexing their PC builds without a Corsair Vengeance RAM. Well I wanted to buy one for my first PC build, but it is $30-40 more expensive than other RAM choices of same specs, so I chose Apacer. I don't regret my RAM choice, but to this day I hardly ever see bad reviews about Corsair Vengeance. If Corsair wants to survive, I think it's about time they shed all other products save for its PSU and RAM, and maintain those two before it's too late.
Funny timing on the video, my Corsair HS70 Pros just broke alongside my siblings Hs45. Both lasted an okay amount of time but unfortunate to say the least
im so happy that my corsair mice and keyboard still works good, buying new stuff from another brand is the one thing but getting behind my desk and trying to get the old cables out and the new ones in is the other thing
Corsair rmx1000 many many years, void headset given away but still going 5 years later, nightsword mouse still going 3 years, mat 5 years and k57 still going strong again 5 years. I've had several RMA's without issues. Sure the support took a little while but I'm still a happy customer. My m65 mouse was replaced three times due to buttons failing, ironclaw mouse had same issues. I hope someday I hear news they fixed the m65 mouse button issues. I'm a Logitech fanboy but I still use Corsair without fear.
I worked with Corsair way back 2016-2018 as a tier 2 tech support. I support Corsair One specifically. They were good at that time, didn't expect this to happen with their customer service. And YES, ICUE sux. lol But software aside, all the peripherals, rams, psu and even accessories like commander pro and corsair link are very good. I still have them and they are still working with my old PC. Was shocked to see they are doing bad nowadays.. :(
Corsair's old cases were great, my only complaint with them is that it was always very difficult to get spare parts. Power supplies are good too. I have no experience with any of their peripherals, so I can't speak for the quality of those.
like 1-2 years ago i had the best customer / warrenty experience i've ever had with corsair. I cant believe their customer service went downhill that hard.
They’ve been great with any RMA issues I’ve had like if I had missing parts for my case which I realized like 3 years later they send them out for free, they repaired a water cooler I blew myself for free, and other things tbh. They’ve been really reliable for the most part and the parts are good and look good, yea they have a premium price but IMO they’re worth it.
I had (have, it's still in a drawer somewhere) a Corsair Scimitar MMO mouse. Most MMO 12 key mice you find on the market have the default thumb buttons mapped 1234567890-=, but the scimitar's defaults are whacky seemingly random keyboard keys. This means to get a meaningful experience out of it you HAVE to program it with the Corsair software. If you have troubles with the software, the software ever becomes unavailable, or you have to reset the mouse, it will essentially become unusable. The K70 keyboard is still a'choochin though.
I made a post a while ago about the new version of corsair icue taking up to much cpu utilization. I mentioned that task manager was showing 8-10% cpu utilization from iCUE. Someone from corsair responded and said "Task Manager wasn't real or reliable software" (it is). Then I followed up with iCUE is reporting the 8-10% cpu utilization while idle as well. Corsair responded with "iCUE is not reliable software"....
My Corsair RAM started giving memory issues about 3-4 years after purchasing back in 2019/2020. It was the low profile Vengeance lineup. They asked me which one I wanted to replace it as they don’t manufacture it. Was able to get slightly faster (3000->3200) RGB RAM as a result lol. Also have had their H115i Pro since 2016 and it is still running strong (knock on wood). On my AM5 platform I don’t have their RAM anymore, but still their AIO, PSU, Keyboard, Mouse, and several fans… I have never had much a reason to complain about them. Kinda sad to see their current state. They remind me of when I had an extremely fond opinion of Logitech.
iCUE has been nothing but problems since i first built my pc. i went all corsair for peripherals and fans, as well as their top of the line AIO. not only did the icue software crash VERY OFTEN, but it would also disconnect all usb devices when it crashed. i still have the keyboard and mouse from them and every power on the keyboard will just randomly disconnect and the rgb will stop working. ive tried many cables and ports. i ended up just getting rid of the commander pro for my rgb fans and now run them as if they didnt have rgb because i was over the bs. not getting any more corsair stuff.
"Corsair went public" well there's the problem
That is probably when it started getting bad tbh.

@@Sheltada kinda sucks Seasonic doesn´t sell in Brazil. tough luck I guess
@@psygreg rip. Do you guys get superflower? I actually prefer them to seasonic.
Same story here with the exact same product!
yo, I fully washed mine like twice. I also spilled milk soda and coke cola on mines. lol
same story with my strafe rgb one. spilled on it multiple times and not just water, mostly coke and milkshakes and after a bit of drying works absolutly fine. i did replace it tho after 5 years in use space supports started to fail, bought strafe rgb 2. For me corsair keyboards have exeptional quality
@Karavusk wouldn't consider myself lucky considering the amount of times I've spilled beer and other drinks on this keyboard.

I know many people with your opinion. However I can't stand the software.
I’ve had a few issues. Headset weak signal, which I couldn’t turn my head without dropping. Had to delete icue 4 to download icue 5. Headset dial is starting to skip volume levels. My keyboard is is not reliable with it being wireless. A lot of issue is being wireless, which I consider still early adoption, but man it sucks when it does
I own a lot of corsair products. everything is top notch.. except for their RGB.
😂
@SilverJoystixI use their stuff it looks nice but their fans are cheeks at airflow

Your psu doesn't require icue.

Lucky you, I've had to RMA my Corsair PSU. Got a replacement one which is still running fine.
But my trust is in Seasonic now.
I didn't realize corsair grew so much into those other spaces. I knew them first as a RAM company. They also did good with power supplies and computer cases. But that was basically it. I feel like they grew too much and diluted what they were good at.

Corsair RMx power supplies are legendary in the industry - as a non-gamer, it's the only Corsair product that is my "go-to" for any computer I build

Please don't talk about Asus as if it was a top brand. In this video you could be talking about corsair or asus and you wouldn't need to change anything but the title. You should look into it, because talking like that about Asus could mislead someone to buy their products now. Yes, they used to be a good company if not the best among hardware thingies but not anymore. Those poor guys writing those reviews could very easily be Asus'

I have an HS80 headset, some features just don’t work… I am in contact with support but it doesn’t look good
What features? I love my hs80 that i bought mostly for the microphone quality.
Glad to hear that man!
yea sorry to tell you that monitor is just rebranded LG. the only monitor they have that is mostly theirs is he flex. but seeing how flexible displays is LG and samsung its prob rebranded as well.
@nicholaswilkerson501 totally fine with that. Everything is a rebranded something, but the argument there is an oversimplification. I use physical calibration tools and the ease of switching studio/movie/game modes is a convenient thing I map to my loupe deck.
@@nicholaswilkerson501all oleds are rebranded LG or now Samsung. They’re the only two manufacturers
Customer experience with Corsair is damn good. They sent new muffs to their virtuo headset after the 2 years warranty.
Now this makes sense. No wonder i ordered their elgato wave3 microphone on their official website but received wave1. And i provided all necessary information and made a ticket, well, its been two years, they never responded…
😔
wtf u should have threatened to sue them or small claims court they will be forced to give u what u paid for then
@@admiralkaede You know what, Elgato HQ was actually in my city, I even threatened to bring signs to their HQ, but they still didn't respond. BTW, they definitely received that correctly because of their auto reply. But that was like Covid time and I did understand maybe the high demand, and then basically I just waited. Now I know I am not alone.
@@JiajuChen oh
Trustpilot reviews don't mean shit when 99% of the people there had a bad experience. You're more inclined, psychologically, to reivew something when you had a bad experience rather than a good one.
I see many people saying they prefer no background music in the comments, but I disagree, I prefer when there is background music
Good video too
Appreciate the feedback man!

4:45 I got mine on sale during black friday; hugely recommend. You bend it more than you think. VERY useful for switching between creative and comfy tasks.
They make excellent cases and PSU
They dont make the PSU´s they sell they buy them from a 3rd party OEM
Corsair didn't really make high quality products, they made the best imitations of quality to the uninformed.
I do like their CV and CX Bronze Powersupplies thou, quite durable
Some people said the new Cx Psu are CV rename is that true i Need a new Psu msi Mag a650bn or corsair Cx650???? Both are 5 year waranty
Love the video. I would request you to add noise reduction on your vocal channel, the hum is very noticeable and easy to remove.
yea sounds like you have an audio issue with your set up, your EQ or sound.
Oh WOW! Not having music in the background makes this soo much more engaging! I did NOT expect that O_o
THANK YOU this has been the only review video of Corsair that talks about icue as the Achilles heel of the entire company
They lost focus and produce way too many things form desks to watercooling parts, and quality went down as well
Never had issues with Corsair products that I used previously including; keyboard, case, AIO, fans.
15 years ago they were pretty good company and liked products, now they all feel cheap and dont last long, and software is just bad. not lasting and bad software is kind of a industry norm sadly.
ive had my K68 RGB keyboard for like 6yrs already
this just mean you take care of your keyboard. people have had crappy dell keyboards for 10 plus years. it doesnt mean its not a crappy product, just means you take care of it.
True that, RAM cost went to space after it by some god damn reason, even old stuff.
Used almost exclusively Corsair components in my custom loop. No issues a few months down.
And YES, ICUE sux. lol
But software aside, all the peripherals, rams, psu and even accessories like commander pro and corsair link are very good.
I still have them and they are still working with my old PC.
Was shocked to see they are doing bad nowadays.. :(
Not sure if it is just me but there was a constant humming in the bg maybe consider putting a low cut on your mic
This guy never had a Corsair product before? The quality is really good.
Got corsair keyboard. It is bit more expensive than others, but still a very good product
Hey 👋🏻 short question:
Are the Corsair Custom Waterloop Parts good for RTX 4080 Super+ Ryzen 9 9750x3d?
yea warranty means nothing. ram stick who have by law lifetime warranty .... you have to send it to them in the US. making it not viable
