Cheers Jerry nice to see you here. Jerry, I would seriously consider the 1200cc “Speed Twin” rather than the smaller 900cc “Street Twin” They are easily confused in name. You may find the Street a little underpowered after the RNINET unless that is what you wanted? I agree re touring with the RNINET, of course It’s possible. Hipster will have to take into account the cost of fitting and buying a touring kit. Whether that’s BMW or one of the other aftermarkets it’s not going to be cheap. We are talking at least £300 plus.
Hi Jamie, thanks for your advice. Im not after the high power though. I agree that the first generation ST was a bit underpowered, but now it's ok. not ridden my boxer GS1150 in about 12 years - reason is they are painful if you are the highway a lot, the position of the pegs to seat which comes with a doubly whammy you can't stretch your legs out with engine configuration in the way of your feet. So it just gathers dust in the garage some nice memories - nice video
I've had my eye on one of these (not the scrambler with the nobbly tyres) for a while... haven't tested yet but sat on one. The bike's footprint is massive.

I was out on my friends r9t scrambler a couple of weeks ago. I think I have now decided I don’t like twins. The lack of gear indicator, revs and on the motorway just wasn’t for me, but love the style; and was surprised how small and light it felt to my RR.
Hi Dom, yes I am considering how much i'd miss no gear/fuel indicator. My first bike for three years had none of those so it wouldn't be a huge shock to go back to that again. Revs I'm never interested in I tend to hear how it is getting on & work off that, A few more things to consider but the search is on, I'm surprised at how I handled the weight too tbh. Would be great to catch you soon in person for a ride, do you have insta?
@@AnotherHipster yeah I’m d0mcat on insta. I have two people in my group with r9t, the exact urban GS you want and the scrambler like you had in this vid. But both have had some very nice mods done making them look 😍👌🏻
I have a '21 Pure. Agree that missing fuel, tach, and gear indicators are a bummer. I'll likely add a tach. I reset odom each fillup, and refill at 100mi. Don't know the real limits but don't want to wait for low fuel indicator. For me the joys outweigh the nitpicks.
Thanks John I have the Urban GS now. I get 150 miles before the fuel light comes on, once I got 200 miles then the fuel light comes on & that was a lot of top gear motorway riding Hope that helps
Hi Donna, I think I wanted that option to do the green lanes and so I went for the urban GS in the end. Plus I loved the original retro looks. I did the 15km off road track at Adventure bike festival and it kept up really well
@@AnotherHipster oh I see , it the right bike for you then , they do look lovely and yours sounds good aswell. It will be good for your touring with shaft drive , enjoy 👍🏍
I love this iteration of the RnineT, and the grey color is super cool. Personally, I prefer the looks of this one over the Urban G/S (and I think this is the exact model that Tom Cruise used in the movie). The sound of the Akrapovic exhaust is also really great; although, here in the Philippines, I think it was regulated (at least for after-market installations), particularly because of the sound it makes. By the way, the pub in 21:05 seems to be your favorite spot... it look very quaint actually! Thanks for the review!

I don't like this as much as your Urban G/S. I don't know why. Maybe it's the high mudguard on the G/S, or the colour. Both of them could do with a rev counter and fuel gauge. I don't agree that demonstrators get abused. They just get ridden. As long as they're warmed up first, there's no problem.

Yes I think the Street Twin mirrors would really suit this bike, I'm not a fan of bar-end as you know so i'd be ordering ST mirrors to swap in if its an easy fit. Haha no PCP for me I like to own outright. having said that the NIU scooter I might PCP because its only about £40 a month + £50 for insurance & that is only a commuter scooter which I have less pride in

One man had been talking to people since 8:30am, I came back at 1:30pm and he was still there in the waiting room! Thankfully the dealer saved me after about 15 minutes of chat with a made up story about me having to leave for a meeting..... everyone was bored of listening to him talk. Some very bold stuff to be saying that loudly too Yes there is alot of choice, i'm off to Cornwall with the Street Twin but hope to see you when im back
Triumph has got nothing on the R9T man. Ok there’s some special Triumphs , like the 1200 scrambler maybe the Speed twin, 2021 model. But still the R9Tis in a Ligue of it’s own. And you should ride the original roadster man, the classic, the best of them all, not these watered down lesser variations.
Cheers Marko I went with the urban Gs in the end. The roadster looks great but I’m looking for more adventure than the glossy road edition. Glad you enjoyed 💨
@@AnotherHipster I fell in love with the RNINET last year and bought a scrambler. It’s significantly quicker than my T100 and I constantly have to reign myself in. There is the temptation and ease to blip past everything such is the acceleration.
Hi Jamie yes I felt that power difference, my Street Twin has more HP than your T100. I love the classic blue & cream colour option though there’s no question I’d have that if I went for the T100 The 110hp on the R Nine T was certainly noticeable, how did you find the engine braking? "Count those chickens" especially if you're planning on staying with your parents$$? You only live once Jack. Wish I could share your enthusiasm for the beemer's looks but....if it floats your boat, nuff said :)
Cheers Mark yes I graduated two years ago, we agreed i'd try and have enough accounts to go for a mortgage after three years but covid has reset the clock that I was on track in terms of work going up, regular contacts ect... Now intro the great unknown for work. I could just get a full time job for three months & use those to prove my earnings but I believe when the time is right i'll move out. BMW I wish it looked more tidied up like the Triumph, but the ST small tank & frame are outgrowing what I have planned from my motorbike. especially with these little electric scooters for the commuting parts, I hope you would still come back and watch if I swapped to the Beamer? It is always great to have you here
@@AnotherHipster Sorry Jack, didn't mean to come over all critical. I fully appreciate that "life happened" to us all last year. Overrated. Don't do it. I'm speaking as a BMW owner, too. You're glee about the slight side to side jolt of a nigh on agricultural 1930's design boxer engine that sticks out massively each side is amusing because, frankly, it's not a good thing. Moto Guzzi do it, too, although they have flair that teutonic engineering does not.. Japanese multis, Ducatis, don't do it, they stay still at idle....like a bike should lol. The peg should not stick into your foot when your at a stop, either. It's not a quirk, or 'character'......it's one of the not so good design features, along with the bumb numbing measly thin seat. It has, of course, plenty good design features...shaft drive, good build quality (though, hand on heart, I think my Ducati has the edge on build quality and finish over my BMW) and sound ergonomics. Try some other bikes, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Aprilia. Don't fall for an image and a brand, there's other bikes as good if not better.

Revs I'm never interested in I tend to hear how it is getting on & work off that,
A few more things to consider but the search is on, I'm surprised at how I handled the weight too tbh.
@@yodomcat Thanks Dom i'll search for you now, they look like lovely bikes & I would do the extra lights, luggage setup ect after a while
I have a '21 Pure.
I get 150 miles before the fuel light comes on, once I got 200 miles then the fuel light comes on & that was a lot of top gear motorway riding
Hope that helps
What made you go for the R9 scrabbler instead of the more road R9?
Hi mate great to see you here, what is your name sorry? Mine is Jack I am sure I’ve heard you say it in your videos but I don’t want to get it wrong 😁
Yes I loved everything about the bike even with no fuel gauge or gear indicator. Not sure which one I’d go for but they both take my Givi side bags so I don’t need to buy more luggage
Yes it’s a lovely pub we’ll visit when you come over here 😉 It’s apparently the oldest pub in Britain & was made in 1539
@@AnotherHipster Hi Jack, my name's Joel. I'd love to visit that pub. It's interesting to know that it's the oldest pub in England! I was actually thinking that it could be the quintessential quaint english pub! 👍
Hi Joel I was so sure it was that but I didn’t want to embarrass myself 😁 It’s just as nice inside so I’m sure you would enjoy it, has a beer garden too we love those here
@@AnotherHipster Oh man, I can't wait to check it out! Thanks and good luck with your next move on the bike! By the way, I finally took your advised and bought a drone... the DJI Air 2s
Thanks I’m waiting to see if the jobs I applied for come through or not. It would be annoying doing all the sorting for it to just sit there for a few weeks while I worked away
So we wait & see
Wow! That is a whopper of a drone here it is about £950 for the combo pack. Cant wait to see what you can show us. Don’t fly it in your home go & find a field or car park with nothing in although the clever tech will help you out buddy. Very exciting
I'd have those tyres changed out for Pirelli Scorpions that I have on my husky svartpilen 701
Cheers I’ll check them out, I had scorpions on my street twin for a while
@@AnotherHipster Pirelli MT60 are great tyres also. They have the. Slight off road block look too them
I don't like this as much as your Urban G/S. I don't know why. Maybe it's the high mudguard on the G/S, or the colour. Both of them could do with a rev counter and fuel gauge.
I don't agree that demonstrators get abused. They just get ridden. As long as they're warmed up first, there's no problem.
yes I agree that would be a great upgrade, hope to see you back soon
@@AnotherHipster Plus a main stand to help with the oil level checks.
Great looking and sounding bike top vid buddy 👍
Cheers I think my longest video yet but I just wanted to document my thoughts. Hope your exciting route with Fen tour going well, I’m sat at a windmill right now having a lovely picnic. Not quite the HH Bench but it’s good fun
Thinking of switching to one but still not convinced .
I had a few months after this test ride & then I swapped. I really love my R9T but sometimes I miss the looks of the Triumph. Try & go for a test ride and see how you feel? the new 2021 model has some more bling bits on it
Is it good for someone 6"2?
yes its tall and you can change the footpegs
@@AnotherHipster I bought one and I'm a very happy owner! Fits me perfectly! :D
It's time for you to get a scrambler or something capable offroading a bit. Maybe you should take a closer look at the BMW urban GS. Really pretty old school GS.
Cheers Florian great to see you here, yes the old school ones are really cool but I don't have the skills to look after one properly. Plus hard getting modern luggage ect... to work on it. Catch you again soon nice to see you
@@AnotherHipster Thanks Jack. The urban GS is brand new and belongs to the r9t range. They look great and is way more comfy than the scrambler. Same engine, same frame, higher suspension and really comfy
@@floriang.8535 Thanks Florian I tested one back in June & loved it. the exhaust is better than this one as its 2-1 not 1-1 so more back pressure. interesting stuff thanks I will have a look :)
I love my '21 Pure, but I have more vibration in the handlebars than I like. Watching the mirrors in this vid, I didn't see the same blur that I get. Need to look into this.
Hi John sorry for the delay, yes i've never noticed any vibrations & I have the Urban GS now. This was a smooth ride too, have a look into those & see what you can come up with. Pier city custom have some amazing mirror choices
Nice review!
Have the same Goldtop in black and also the Revit gloves. I see the velcro removes the stitches the same way as mine😅
Hi Paul great to see you here, yes most of my wrist lining of the jacket has gone thanks to my gloves :D Weight shedding I guess? But the look is well worth it. Jacket must look great in black with the red lining
@@AnotherHipster
Its a bit sad, that the nice lining gets destroyed, but have to live with that issue , i guess =D i will look for another pair of nice gloves, but without the velcro strap to save some of the lining. The bobber jacket in black has the lining in gold same as yours, only the collar has the red suede to it. =)
Have a nice day and lots of riding fun, greetings from Hungary!
Very lovely, ride safe & enjoy your beautiful place of Hungary. Goldtop make some great options, turns out these are Dainese Gloves but yes same lining-hating problems
What about the r9t pure
I liked it & it’s a great bike but I wanted the cross spoke wheels & I really liked the styling of the Urban GS. I brought a Urban GS in the end 😎
I love the r9t but don.t believe the marketing! But main thing for me is lack of mudguards! Ok if you only ride in summer.
Cheers Zed yes it will be interesting to see how mucky it all gets, I went with the Urban G/S X which has huge mudgaurds & a fitted hugger which should help
Do the swap now!! You’ve justified your swap a hundred times in that vid. Longer you think about it you’ll end up talking yourself out of it 😁 you can always go back to a ST. Only live once 👌
Cheers Jim I am just adding up the numbers & we'll wait and see. Glad to see you here thanks
Those tyres are off-road. Give them to me. That’s what I do. 🏍️💨🏁
Lovely bike (apart from the mirrors ) YOLO Jack think of all those thin Women on Titanic that waved away the dessert trolley. Buy one NOW on a PCP deal, do it, do it now!!!
Yes I think the Street Twin mirrors would really suit this bike, I'm not a fan of bar-end as you know so i'd be ordering ST mirrors to swap in if its an easy fit. Haha no PCP for me I like to own outright. having said that the NIU scooter I might PCP because its only about £40 a month + £50 for insurance & that is only a commuter scooter which I have less pride in
Great video, but way, way to many commercials :(
thanks, sorry to hear that. I've left it on automatic & don't see the ads myself. How many did you get can you remember? Will try and change it now
Another watch , the beautiful thing about motorcycles is the freedom of choice , your along time dead 💀 so definitely do what makes you happy , just promise me you won’t turn into a none waving none nodding bmw rider 😱😂 stay safe
Hi buddy no I will wave constantly, the dealership was full of them though so I wonder what type of bike group i'm buying into, but i'll stay more with the retro riders. One man had been talking to people since 8:30am, I came back at 1:30pm and he was still there in the waiting room! Thankfully the dealer saved me after about 15 minutes of chat with a made up story about me having to leave for a meeting..... everyone was bored of listening to him talk. Some very bold stuff to be saying that loudly too
Yes there is alot of choice, i'm off to Cornwall with the Street Twin but hope to see you when im back
@@AnotherHipster have a good trip stay safe , looking forward to seeing your adventure
@@bikerbuddy3166 cheers i've got a nice little apartment booked & of course taking the drone too. Catch you soon
Triumph has got nothing on the R9T man. Ok there’s some special Triumphs
, like the 1200 scrambler maybe the Speed twin, 2021 model.
Overtaking on a zebra crossing! That’s big ticket and endorsements fella. Hope there was no camera.
Be careful hipster. Don’t get to carried away young man. It’s a step up from your baby street twin 😉
Cheers Jamie, would be a big jump but I really loved it. Thanks for coming
I love the classic blue & cream colour option though there’s no question I’d have that if I went for the T100
The 110hp on the R Nine T was certainly noticeable, how did you find the engine braking? It was perfectly in tune with what I’d look for
"Count those chickens" especially if you're planning on staying with your parents$$? You only live once Jack. Wish I could share your enthusiasm for the beemer's looks but....if it floats your boat, nuff said :)
Cheers Mark yes I graduated two years ago, we agreed i'd try and have enough accounts to go for a mortgage after three years but covid has reset the clock that I was on track in terms of work going up, regular contacts ect... Now intro the great unknown for work. I could just get a full time job for three months & use those to prove my earnings but I believe when the time is right i'll move out. BMW I wish it looked more tidied up like the Triumph, but the ST small tank & frame are outgrowing what I have planned from my motorbike. especially with these little electric scooters for the commuting parts,
I hope you would still come back and watch if I swapped to the Beamer? It is always great to have you here
@@AnotherHipster Sorry Jack, didn't mean to come over all critical. I fully appreciate that "life happened" to us all last year. I'm just very lucky to be older in that regard, so no criticism of anyone caught up in a Brexit/Corona reality just starting out in life. You do what you do, I appreciate your lovely video-style and that's not related to what you ride (said a man with two Hondas and two Vespas). If the beemer gets your blood running then go for it.
No worries Mark it’s all very strange times for everyone, it is always nice to see you here & thanks for your kind comments. Hopefully I have something interesting to show you when I get back from my Cornwall trip this week 🍻💨
Also a-crapo-vich😂
Good on yous for siding with your own stock's national product. You're wrong. German is superior. But good on yous
