Padmaavat is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language epic period drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Based on the epic poem of the same name by Malik Muhammad Jayasi, it stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, a Rajput queen known for her beauty, wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh, played by Shahid Kapoor. Sultan Alauddin Khilji, played by Ranveer Singh, hears of her beauty and attacks her kingdom to claim her. Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad, and Anupriya Goenka featured in supporting roles.

The best part about final battle scene is that they didn't use any Background music...only the sound of swords, shields and foots...which makes it more realistic and so brilliantly performed by actors 👏🔥

While everyone talks about Ranveer's and Shahid's performance, we have to applaud Deepika's great work in portraying the character of Rani Padmavati. The poise and elegance with which she holds the character is beautiful. Also hats off to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for pulling off such a difficult script with such finesse.

Sati was the only way since Khilji couldn't get what he desired the most. If she would've shown her face Khilji would not have left her and would've treated her the same way as he treated Malika-i-jahan

Moreover , the weapon Ratan Singh is using is the Talvar, the Rajput standard sabre... The weapon Khilji is using is the Killij , the standard Turkish sabre... The diff is that killij is much more heavy , the blade is wider and the tip is widened for more cut .. that part was called yelmen...
Standard Rajput sword was Khanda which had a reputation of being the best sword at the time. But Muslims used light swords which they can easily use on horseback and move faster from one place to another thus Indians also turned to talwar sword which was light and similar to Muslim sabers.
Indian Metallurgy had produced a variety of good weapons and had a nice reputation in the world. Khanda was a sword with hammering power of an axe, a heavy sword which was so strong that can do heavy damage to powerful Spartan shield with a single proper hit but it wasn't that great in duel when enemy was using fast and furious swords.
