Hi, my name is Elie Moses and I am a 24 Year-Old Law and Film student here in Sydney, Australia. I have decided to watch what is considered the greatest TV SHOW of all time 'THE SOPRANOS' for the FIRST TIME!! Here is my reaction to episode 9 of season 5. A BANGER OF AN EPISODE!

First time watching the sopranos (reaction)
Elie is indeed, the motherfucking fucking BOSS of these reactions, bro is flying through this amazing show & still has yet to get to the nitty gritty of this show, heavy on the gritty! 😤
You don’t have to love him, but you will respect him!!
@@JMC296 random commenter: “I don’t like Elie Moses.”
Us in our best Paulie voice: “Stop getting cunty!”
Always liked how Johnny Sack, who knows all about Tony’s panic attacks, covers for him in front of the other golfers. If they weren’t in different families, they’d be best buds
Paulie's face when he found out who Finn is 😲
The fundamental question is: Will Elie be as effective a reactor as those other reactors are? He will be even moreso. But until he is, it will be difficult to verify he'll think he'll be more effective.
A total deb-acle
😂
Meadow is just like her mom in that she knows exactly what’s going on and pretends it bothers her, but when push comes to shove she decides to look the other way. She also has a thing about civilians, until she lets them in, then she expects them to react the same way. When they don’t she’s utterly confused.
I think one redeeming thing about Meadow though is that she was born into this. She loves her dad and makes excuses for him because of it. Carmela choose to marry Tony knowing full well what kind of man he was.
Another gem of an episode... that last six eps of season 5 is peak Sopranos I think... that "Peeps" headstone scene is a classic!
The dialogue is just so precise throughout the series. Johnny doesn’t tell Tony “if you’re lying to me…” he says “if I find out you’re lying…” meaning he doesn’t buy Tony’s BS for a minute but can’t disprove it. So good.
Of everything that happens in this episode, who’d have thought Finn getting out a suitcase would cause the most carnage
Johnny Sack's actor is so good, never lets Gandolfini steal the scene when they appear together. Hard to believe he barely had any acting experience before the Sopranos.
Fun fact: the woman who plays Joe Peeps sister is my mother (not cap) when they show all the people at the funeral for the brief moment you will see her at the front of the crowd all the way to the right.
The "unidentified black male" is a thread that runs through the entire series
Someone did an analysis of the Melfi/Tony panic attack scene, breaking down the progression of the scene and Gandolfini's stellar performance. It's amazing how it builds very slowly, and for the first time in the show, Melfi witnesses one of Tony's panic attacks.
nerdwriter. great video
what's interesting with this episode is that tony b has a lip which means steve is faking that limp, meanwhile the main tony (s) had to fake not having one because jimmy slept in his car that night and his back was hurting which means he had to pretend to be fine...
Lets go!!! Love these reactions. Always gets me through my work shift
💯
This is probably in my top 15 eps of the series.
Elie: "why doesn't Carm do [literally anything]"
Me, most Sopranos fans, and Jamie Foxx: "cause she a gold digga"
I don't know if you can call her a golddigger because she merried Tony when he still was poor. She's more interested in the power and the status than in the money
52:48 More themes and connection of motherhood/therapy. The first scene of the show Tony is framed between the 2 legs of the women statue and here we see Melfi compare therapy to child birth. I'm not really sure of the exact meaning of all of it, but it really emphasizes how important Livia is to his mental state and really a lot the characters in the show. Tbh without Livia, Tony would be in a wayyy better state of mind/mental health. That therapy scene is definitely one of my favorites in the series.
21:13 fun fact for any stoners out there this is the same actress who played Maria in the Harold and Kumar movies fine as hell!😍
Another Great reaction & discussion about the camera shots in the episode👌, and I enjoyed the last therapy scene, one of the best in the series, also remember Vito’s secret😉
Perhaps Meadow's overreaction about the suitcase/Finn considering leaving has something to do with her parents divorcing?
Ah, you picked up on Vito
Not talking about his goomara before the Vito reveal…..
Actually the legal system does work like that. She can only try and get what they can prove. If the money is not on the books she gets nothing
Her boyfriend is being subjected to sexual harassment and she accuses him of "making it all about himself"?
all I remember of summer school is drawing South Park characters on the board and having AC lol but farkin maths though hey
That biz with Vito, LOL! Disgusting. Great reactions!
Elie when you gonna RE-react to this GOAT of a show? Ohhhhhh! Hahaha
41:50 😂😂😂😂
I wouldn't have told on Vito if it weren't for his behaviour afterwards, and I wish Meadow would come back :p (at the time, not good now with the tightening the screws on making the province french)...
yah fark couple shit, too many are immature and don't know how to deal with stuff...
46:29 "I woke up this morning" I thought he was gonna break into the theme song for a second there 😂
agreed otherwise mate, and well said
This episode shows how entilted, lazy and toxic Carmela is and her daughter is following in her footsteps. Fin is worried about getting killed and she is worried about her feelings.
Meadow is lacking key information that Finn saw with his own eyes. That these guys are ruthless. And that Vito is bi-sexual. Meadow has never seen any violence herself. Ever. She knows of things but doesn’t really know anything. Her reaction to be more concerned about her relationship with Finn than anything is a normal healthy reaction considering what she knows. If Meadow had any clue her dads friends were mass murderers she never would have got Finn a job there. Finn actually knows more about mobsters than Meadow does. In Meadows head these “no-work” construction jobs are just part of negotiations between the union & the company.
@@gregsgoogle2947 okay sure guy that is why she scolded her friend about saying business in front of outsiders. She knows exactly what her dad does. She knows exactly what all of them are like. I've known people like her and Carmela they love the life but when anything happens they act like they don't know anything, when everyone around knows the truth. And that is they know exactly what is going on. Anyone that thinks an outsider would know more than them is just being gullible.
It's funny Meadow criticising Carmela for not trying to become financially independent of Tony by citing Finn as an example of financial independence. Meadow says, "even Finn got a job in construction", as if Finn even had to lift a finger to get that job. We know that in reality, Finn was really just handed that job by Tony to ingratiate himself with his daughter's boyfriend, and that Tony could give that job away because of the Mafia's control (the extent of which I'm not sure of in 2004) of the construction industry the New York metropolitan area. Going back to Carmela's financial independence from Tony, I'll come back to this later in an episode of the sixth series.
Elie: "not how the legal system works"...
True ... But try telling that to
TONY MF SOPRANO 😤😤😤💀💀
It's a running thing with these guys, falsely accusing black people for crimes they didn't do:
* Jackie, Jr.'s murder
* Tony S.'s panic attack induced-head inury which means he can't help Tony B. hijack a lorry full of Betamaxes
* Tony B. getting his foot run over after killing Joey Peeps and Heather
* Gene smashing a glass bottle into Little Paulie's face and then kicking him while he's lying on the ground
Christopher bitching about Tony B is rich considering it's thanks to Tony B he didn't get his head blown off in that field.
Whaddya gonna do
Whats the masterpiece you're getting you film degree for? What do you want to make? I wanna see it!
finn is acting like a wimp, he told her about vito and she didnt believe him. i would be likeyea im leaving you dont even listen to me when i tell you stuff. she acts like a baby
Could've realized that when he ate a bit after Meadow said "but I told you I was cooking tonight"
No woman. If a man says he's not hungry, he's serious 💀
This is the only episode where I hated Meadow.
Remember Carms face when she saw Angie passing out samples at the supermarket. That is Carmelas worst nightmare, to have to work for a living. Especially having to make a living doing something she thinks is beneath her. That fight between Finn and Meadow is cringey. Twenty something drama. UGH!
Not all women are like them. Choose wise
Finn is being sexually harreassed… can’t believe Meadow isn’t recognizing that. It’s fight or flight response and she is overreacting
Especially with her progressive mindset! Maybe she didn't want to sound homophobic so she's protecting the abuser? 😭💀 Incident like that must be a liberal's worst nightmare
Tony totally held Tony B back because he earned his stripes was charismatic and his jokes were actually funny this season to me shows us to me the psychopath narcissist that Tony really is just like with feech
