Not me watching on the original SE! It’s so small, lightweight. Has Apple Pay, can handle GPS, Apple Music, most apps. I got a security update in late January of 2024.
My battery health is 88% works great. 64GB. I don’t play games, don’t have social media. So, it’ll last me most of the day. I love how small it is, Touch ID works great. Fast. This iPhone is more than useable for the low key user in 2024.
Also, my cell phone bill is $60 and that’s the best part of this all. No leasing, no monthly phone payments, etc.
I have a fast Wi-Fi at home, so no problems plus full 4G bars. Works great.

@@antoniettameo593 actually you can buy 3 models of iphone SE. The first ( based on an iphone 5S ), the second ( based on an iphone 8 ) and the third ( same of the second but it’s mutch power ).
Just buy one, not expected it used to browsing internet, watching RUclips or something, just to do phone calls and satisfy my nostalgia. And I have to say, I love the overall look of it, the Apple's style is the one you can't miss out.

Uff, everyone complains in those SE1st Gen. videos about the battery. And nobody talks about that You can replace it (with even a better one 2100 mAh) pretty easy to do ❤
Don't be fooled by their false marketing. Cheap chinese battery technology is not better than what apple could offer in 2016. The original battery size is 1624 mAh, which is upgradeable to 1800 mAh due to the slighter larger batteries that are offered today. I would still recommend using the original 1624 mAh battery as this allows the battery to expand under heat, something the larger batteries won't allow as they take up all of the space.

I still use this phone every day. I replaced the battery three years ago ans have no problems during the day.
Hope, there come security updates the next two years.

This is still one of my favourite ever iPhone designs. I lucked out and picked up a used one in perfect shape with 128gb storage and put a new battery in it. It’s awesome. So compact.

I am on watching this video on the original SE I use it for TikTok RUclips all my banking apps and they said yes they still run the phone operates without a glitch still an awesome small little iPhone that doesn't look like a brick in your pocket
Loved my SE it did get laggy so upgraded to 12 mini but still find it too big. I kept the SE, swapped the battery, glad to still have it. Not my daily driver but a pleasure to pick it up and appreciate it's perfection.. Still useful these days. Sadly missing 5G, sometimes a little laggy and poorer camera. Sticking the camera out the back since the SE just an awful idea I doubt Jobs would have allowed. I would rather have it same thickness all over a put a bigger battery in. The 3.5mm jack back too. Brilliant.
How you find the 12 mini too big? U got super small hands like a 2 year old or what?

my dad had it for work and it was love at first sight.
I got this on auction for 25 ..very impressed much better than 6s i have 2 iphone 6s that majorly lag with speed and updates still i cant update those however SE took like under 2 minutes it was lightning fast for the 15.8.1 , which to me is pretty current software for what i need , battery health was low and kept shutting down so i bought a tiny tool kit and battery under 10 ...and replaced it works great now best little phone i ever had i like the size so i can take it fishing throw it in tackle box or whatever ...i do recommend these
Just popped my sim from an iPhone 12 Pro max and just love the small size why are they getting rid of the small form factors even an iPhone mini would be ok
In two previous jobs I was given an iPhone 5S as a work phone. Rather than take a 6.5" monster that I was offered in my current job (after testing one for a couple of months) I just took the SIM and purchased a refurb SE. (About 90€) a couple of months ago. It ticks lots of boxes for a work phone. The best (touch) smartphone form factor ever (at least for a work device). Headphone socket. Supports MS Company Portal. Decent user interface. Cheap. (And I already had cases, etc.)
I certainly wouldn't buy any other Apple device, and I think it would take a lot of searching to find an Android device that comes close. (Headphone sockets are easy to find, but a sensibly small one for work with a clean UI and a new enough OS is tricky).
For its purpose, I'm really happy with it. (I wouldn't use it as a personal phone, Pixel 2 with a custom ROM was the nicest I have had recently - very different requirements obviously).
daily drove my iphone 5 until a couple years ago when they turned off 3g. carried around a 4glte modem for awhile until i got an old cosmetically rough 2016 se. melted out a corner in an old iphone 5s case and installed the se components into it. turned off every privacy and data sharing settings and my phone looses like 8% per day in standby and lasts for around 10 hrs of screen on time. replaced the battery and screen every year or so and the parts cost about 2$ each if you buy them in 3 packs
I loved this phone. Still got it in my collection and works fine, although slow and battery is pants.
You can replace the battery very easy. I got a 2100 mAh powercell battery and it holds the whole day
I just got this for 25$ . And for that price its excellent as i use it for GPS on My Motorbike. And social media scrolling and for 25$ i think no other device can compete with this . As if i want to sell this i easily can for atleast 40-50$.

Quite frankly I’m glad this phone doesn’t have water proofing. It makes it ultra easy to open these up and replace the battery when you don’t have to deal with adhesive. Being as even the newest of these phones are fairly old these days most probably need new batteries.
I’m using this as my secondary device. My main one is a 13 Mini. “Almost” the same size

If they made this exact phone, same internals and everything, only with USB c, I'd never buy another phone again! This was the last iPhone i had, way back in middle school now. I slipped on my bike in winter and landed on it in my pocket, the entire chassis was bent, you could see the backlight between the side and the screen, and it still fucking worked! I've mostly just been using my dad's old androids ever since.
Maybe a usb c mod is possible? I haven't found anything on it.

I use this phone to play my games since I don’t like to keep charging my main phones because the battery. My SE has 74% max capacity and it has very bad battery life so when I play games it stays on the charger, it runs relatively fast for its age. Don’t really care about running games at the highest graphics ever so it doesn’t bother me, the screen is pretty small though but I adjusted easily.
The only reason id but it its just bc of the design and nostalgia behind it . Just loved the design

I sincerely wish Apple would bring back this type of design and size of a phone. I'm an android guy, but this would seriously make me consider buying an Apple product. Gotta have a headphone jack tho, bring the back, just bring an option for it!
I actually like the notches and the bezels, it's just a great design.
It's just a shame they might not make small phones like this size nowadays, it's all large screens which is obviously good to have, but it's no longer a surprise. The max phones now peaked is 6 9 inch screens until it reaches tablet size.
This iPhone is my favorite, 2nd is the iPhone 7 for all the build up it brought.
For this who are asking 'is this phone bad' it actually is not because its first iPhone SE ever and its actually OG who has got iPhone SE 2016🎉

In 2024 if you aren’t expecting too much for this phone, I don’t see why not to buy this phone in 2024, it can still run the newest versions of apps and it can still make phone calls and texts, although the processor is a bit outdated compared to modern iPhones, but for 40-80 bucks I see why not to buy it especially if your a budget.

This phone is oddly a good phone actually. It’s as powerful as the iPhone 13 and has 5g. The iPhone 11 doesn’t even have 5g. And it had iOS 17 which is cool. They still sell these in apple stores . It’s a good phone for a budget

If you’re broke for £50 buck you have this phone no other phone give better specs and build for that price. So yes it’s worth having as a back up/emergency phone in case your main phone is lost/stolen/broken.

@Lo-Fi_cloudrunner big yes! But you can go to settings first then to battery to see the remain capacity, just to be sure it’s the battery. I bought my new battery two years ago and it’s still amazing. The brand is Powercell and it has 2100 mAh. It comes along with the screwdriver and stuff. But before you do it watch a yt video for the procedure. It’s very easy to do. For other parts to replace I just have a second SE laying around as a donor. I replaced the camera and the home button too.
As long my apps are working on this device, I will never change it. Love this phone as a daily driver
