I hate Cheerleader with a special kind of passion, but I never understood why. Your comments on the song finally explained that to me, love how insightful your videos are 😁

Didn’t expect Trap Queen in the A tier but it’s such a guilty pleasure for me lol

Uptown Funk has to be the defining anthem of the 2010s for me. Easily one of (if not the) best songs of the year.
Great (and very nostalgic) year for music for me.

    Bangers:
    Fetty Wap & Remy Boyz - 679
Major Lazer, DJ Snake & Mø - Lean On (your impression haha, for me that part is actually the best part about it)
Taylor Swift & Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood (I don't seek to listen to this one, but it's not bad. This is Max Martin by the way, surprised you didn't like the production 😛)
Hozier - Take Me to Church (absolutely brilliant song S tier)
Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do (here's an unexpected hitmaker, I think people don't really think of her as such but she had many hits, and yes I have yet to see the movie)
The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face (man The Weeknd has so many bangers)
The Weeknd - The Hills (as you can tell I'm a fan of The Weeknd haha)
The Weeknd - Earned It (oh look, another song from THAT movie haha)
Taylor Swift - Blank Space (listened to the Eden Project version, it's a nice one but I still prefer the original since I'm not a big fan of this vocal approach)
Maroon 5 - Sugar (I want to hear this, Groot haha)
Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud
Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk (is an absolute banger, fun fact: Mark Ronson together with Linda Perry and Christina Aguilera wrote the song "Hurt")
Other songs I wanted to comment on:
Jack Ü & Justin Bieber - Where Are U Now? (oh yeah Bieber is here, I'm surprised we didn't have his song Baby, I thought it was massive)
Jason Derulo - Want to Want Me (discount Usher strikes again, never heard this one)
OMI - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) (this song was everywhere! It's quite dumb and basic imho)
Silentó - Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae) (another meme song)
Fetty Wap - Trap Queen (maybe if this only had the instrumental, I would like it more, not for me)
Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth - See You Again (I absolutely loathe this one, because of Charlie Puth's vocals I'm just not a fan of the overprocessed vocals. Fun fact: Charlie Puth said Genie in a Bottle is his least favorite song of all time, and that the song is a "sonic mess")
Speaking of The Weeknd, do you watch Super Bowl halftime shows? I do every year, The Weeknd had a good one.

I've never watched anything Superbowl related, haha!
Maybe I should give his show a watch!

@@groot1421 Halftime shows are the only sports-related things I watch haha It's always a big production and many hits. They take it very seriously in the US

Hozier is a GOAT! Such a brilliant piece of music in every aspect! It's an S-tier for me as well, have to agree. BTW he's recently had another billboard #1 with "Too sweet", I don't know if you listened to this song but it's another S-tier for me.
I have a love/hate relationship with Taylor Swift (lol). Most of her later work doesn't impress me to say the least, but some of her songs, such as Lover, Cardigan and All Too Well (what a song!) are my all time faves. That being said, I like both Bad Blood (B-tier) and Blank Space (A-tier).
The Weeknd is another GOAT here. Can't feel my face and The Hills are S-tier songs imo. I love the heavy and a-bit-over-the-top beat in The Hills. Earned It isn't as good.
Ed Sheeran is my type of artist. I love his sappy songs, so Thinking out loud is an S-tier song.
I once loved Uptown funk but it was overplayed to the point I grew tired of it. Still a good song though

Maroon 5 is just formulaic. For me, Sugar is an F. I hate Adam Levine's vocals in this song so much. On the other hand, I really love Take me to church. Hozier is fantastic in this song. Again, your point of view is really insightful and I love it. Take care, min kära!

Next year are you reviewing the original or the Seeb remix of Pill in Ibiza? Wikipedia seems to list the original, but it was definitely the Seeb remix that was big.

I'm sure you've already seen which version I reviewed ;)

Glad you liked 2015 as much as I did, though there is a few songs you and I could argue about, like the fact you said Cheerleader is one of the worst songs that year is just...no! I disagree with what you said on that! That song will ALWAYS be more of an anthem of the 2010's in my world more than Uptown Funk will ever be (Even though Uptown Funk okay by me). However, the one song that you and I can both agree on is how awful Sugar is. It made me lose my love for Maroon 5. It should've be in the F category.

My comments on the songs I know:
Sugar: annoying vocal but a satisfying enough structure and vibe that makes it work for me though it is harmless. A C-tier for me. (Note: had the wrong Sugar initially by Robin Schulz featuring Francesco Yates which is just so fantastic and well-produced and just does what it tries to do perfectly).
Trap Queen: This is a very annoying song but sort of fun and charming. A C-tier for me.
Thinking Out Loud: very timeless song and very pretty and emotional though it doesn’t expand enough making it sort of fall short and it being boring. A B-tier for me.
Fight Song: great lyrics and progression with so much catchiness that I really enjoy. Maybe it is nostalgia but this is a mid-B-tier for me.
Where Are You Now: amazing production and such a cool song. Great vocals as well that make it work for me. An A-tier with the sort of annoying approach of the drop that makes the song work less for me. A high B-tier for me.
Want To Want Me: really sweet and vocally competent for me. Catchy hook and great production. Just a great pop tune from him, a strong B-tier for me.
Lean On: love the vibe and it is really well-sung and unique. Very catchy song for me that works for me. A strong B-tier for me.
Bad Blood: the version without KL is better. I like the instrumental, the lyrics are take it or leave it, a bit annoyingly catchy, and the verses are so much better than the chorus. A strong D-tier for me.
Take Me To Church: is a dark and depressing song with a great message and tension that chills me to the bone with its approach overall. A fantastic song for me, S-tier easily.
Love Me Like You Do: good vocals but just so mid overall. A C-tier for me.
Can’t Feel My Face: love the lyrics and his attitude is just wow. The instrumental is just a vibe as well that is so easy to dance to. An S-tier for me.
Cheerleader: very catchy and fun. Just a foottapper and so chill. A B-tier for me.
Shut Up And Dance: love the lyrics and it just sounds fantastic to me and is just straight-up perfection. An S-tier for me.
The Hills: love the ambience and it sounds decent and it is solid vocally but sort of boring for me. A C-tier for me.
Uptown Funk: amazing vibe and attitude from Mr Mars that just shows why he is one of the best in everything it does and it does it perfectly. An easy S-tier for me.
Earned It: really fine. Good vocals but just so hard and seductive that it forgets to be sonically interesting and expansive making it so boring. A D-tier for me.
Whip Whip: just so annoying and loud and lazy. Hate it. An easy f-tier for me.
Blank Space: love the sound and lyrical concept and how she just commits to it. It is so satisfying melodically and structurally with so much catchiness that makes it an A-tier for me.
See You Again: Charlie Puth sticks it here and the song is really touching and emotionally loaded which works for me. The rap verse is absolutely fine but the singing is just what elevates it to a high B-tier for me.
Overall this is a great year. So many classic songs that are fantastic in my books with a couple of sucky ones peppered in there that make this year so nostalgic for me.

Blank Space is not only a great pop song, it turns the tables culturally. - Meanwhile I was going to chide you about "Reproductive activity" but after your subsequent personal comment I was disarmed. Someone will come along, when you are ready for it to happen. 👍

This is an ok year. I don’t feel as much as I did in 2013/2014. Some of these, I absolutely adore though:
    - Cheerleader (oh come on now)
    - Take me to church (truly modern classic)
    - Blank Space (Agree with everything you said)..
However, I really don’t like ”Uptown Funk”. But even worse is Ed Sheeran. I never like his music, I even blocked him on Spotify to avoid ”accidentally” playing his music. So… yeah. Everything is F to me, from him.
Also really don’t like ”Bad blood”. It just seems like not a single care was put into that song.

EVERYTHING from Ed Sheeran is an F???? Nooooooooo, even "I See Fire" and "Don't"???
