highly recommend winsor and newtons permanent white (or zinc white if you want a less opaque mixing white) it comes in 14ml and 37ml and dries beautifully. haven't tried holbein yet but i am tempted by a few of the colours to fill in the gaps that winsor and newton has in their collection, especially the pastel purple and single pigment earth tones.

Thanks so much for the recommendation I hear such things about Winsor & newton gouache. Still on the search for that perfect white so may have to try it
