- A very special session of the Penguin Literary festival featuring a dialogue with two amazing women Shobhaa De and Vidya Balan. An author, columnist, Shobhaa De is someone who forces others to re think their opinions. She has a new book coming out soon, '70 And To Hell With It'. In many ways, that sums up her mantra of life. Vidya Balan, one of the best actors we have today in the Hindi film industry, is someone who has won everything from the National award to film awards, government awards and still has a long way to go. Vidya Balan like Shobhaa De has never been afraid of breaking out of the mould, of experimenting with her roles. She's now also a member of India's censor board and has a new movie coming out 'Tumhari Sulu'.

Wow Shobhaa De! She can be candid, especially now she has accomplished a lot!! Sad that women have to let go of her things because she can't go some place alone and still is the case today!! And Vidya is right "Kangana putting up the fight unafraid of the consequences"!!
Glad to see Indian women are challenging the status quo of male dominated Indian society. Hope hypocrisy of Indian cultural ethos are exposed and set to the right course. As a Fiction writer, I would like to develop characters of heros in my next novel with these two women as models.

Seeing the sarcastic comments really make me wonder if we have actually progressed one bit. Cos the amount of hatred for this interview reflects how passive we are when it comes to day to day issues a women deal with in a work place.

Shobha de failed author who is trying to make statements in order to create controversy for selling her frivolous book. Kangana has only a story for PR purpose but there are no factual evidence to prove that story. All her claims turned out to be false. Hrithik has submitted his personal computer, phone, passport to the police investigating team. So it is natural for any person to support someone who has evidence to prove his innocence. Law decides on evidence and not opinions or hearsay. As for feminism I can really tell u I am yet to see woman who has proven stalker and slept her way through the ladder is called feminist in shobha de's mind.
Maryam Mohamed everybody have physical needs. urban men or women both do sleep with somebody. arranged marriages are all trade. even dumping a partner for a better one is also sleeping the way for a better life. so do u also consider ppl following these are sleeping their way to the top? I m not agreeing that kangana did sleep with men for the success but "ppl sleeping their way can't be considered Ideal" is hypocrisy. I'm a working guy living in NYC. I do know for a fact that it happens all around the world.
