    If an NRI sold his/her pre acquired agricultural land when he/she was resident in other town and now want to sale to consolidate the agricultural land to his town for better management then can the person do so... And if already done whats the next steps?

    Hi i have a question(s). If NRI father gifts agricultural land to his NRI son, Can the son - 1/ rent the land to RI for cultivation 2/ sell the land if so what Tax is applicable on the sale of this land ? 3/ Can sale of proceeds of this land be repatriated to foreign bank if so is this taxable also ?     Hello, Very nice and informatve Video, Thanks for sharing this information>I have a question regarding buying Agricultural Land in India.We are NRI's with me and children having US passport and my wife is still carrying Indian passport, can we buy agricultural land on her name?

    While acquiring agricultural land what if the funds are generated from within India i.e. sale of another asset. Also, what is the definition of agricultural land if nothing is cultivated is it still considered agriculture.

      Yes, you can acquire agricultural land using the sale of another asset.
      Agricultural land is defined by its classification, and cultivation is not mandatory for it to be considered agricultural.

    Very clear cut, ,concise video. Congrats. I am an OCI holder who bought agricultural and for my mother in her name recently. I transferred the money to the seller directly from my NRO account. Is it illegal? I promised my mom as a child that I would gift her some farm land. So fulfilled it. Can you please help clarify? I am worried

    My relative who is oci purchased agricultural land in November 23 and converted it in to commercial land with in one month in andhrapradesh. How ED get to know about this?

    Can anybody clear my doubt,
    Case 1: OCI/NRI living outside of india cant buy Agricultural land.
    Case 2: OCI living in india can buy Agricultural land and any immovable properties ?? i mean staying more than 180 day in india and paying taxes in India same like all other person. and planned to stay regular in india, not going to back to USA in near future.
    can anybody answer this case 2 ??
