    You definitely need a comparison between IF22 vs IF22A. They are both great but there are important differences that might sway people to buy the IF22 instead. Around 4min in Turbo, slightly longer range and less flood even though it's still pretty good (the outer ring is more pronounced), also the IF22 is a bit longer and has slightly larger heat sink which contributes to better heat dissipation hence the longer turbo mode. It's actually a pretty hard choice to choose between them therefore that review would be great to help people decide. 😉

    Interestingly there seems to be two different versions of the if22a. The other version has a slightly different lens and a tighter spot and maybe slightly longer throw as it seems a little brighter.

    Excellent review as always. This little Sofirn thrower is amazing considering it's small size. I think I'm going with a Wurkkos TS30S though. Yeah, it's bigger, but for what I'll use a thrower for, that doesn't matter. 6000 lumens and an SBT90.2 are too tempting for me to turn down, even if it is around $30 and change more.

    • @jericosha2842
      @jericosha2842 2 года назад +3

      @alanrabinowitz7111 2 года назад +6

      Man I don't know where you are but here in the US a wurkkos TS30s is going for over a 100 US dollars. For that kind of money I could get something far more powerful, efficient light with amazing runtimes such as a Convoy L7. SBT 90.2 is such a power hungry emitter, I cannot have it powered by just one 21700 cell. This light is 1/3rd its price, is relatively efficient and is much more pocketable.

Alternatively, there is also the Thrunite mini with a smaller battery ofc. I think the Wurkkos FC12 also deserves a look. It throws well, wirhout being a dedicated thrower and is EDC sized so will fit in your pocket with no problem.

    While a nice little light for use around the house or yard, there are several regrets. The spot isn't very sharp, and fans out over distance making it less effective. The control switch is very hard to find once you take your finger off of it. Really. And then theres the temperature. This light really gets warm. On turbo it heats up really fast. Actually gets hot. Even on high it gets uncomfortable to hold after a few minutes. Why isn't this stuff pointed out in all the reviews.

I doubt it will be very useful as a walking-around light since you need to use it on high/turbo for any useful spill which it probably cannot sustain for long and will blind or annoy other pedestrians in an urban area. Something like a SOfirn SF47T will be more useful with its long runtimes when a real thrower is required.

      IF22A is probably more useable, the MC13 is almost like LEP laser light at lower brightness levels. I you need throw though the MC13 should be able to throw further for longer as it has less power draining the battery and causing heat
