"Guys, include me" lol saddest yet funniest line if the whole skit
And just think, if he was included, he'd probably be dead as well.
SNL making an entire skit based around a completely fair, valid issue. I dig it.
Too bad it got cut for time. You know, I bet you can make an entire episode of SNL with sketches that never aired due to time, content, or the actors cracking up too much to stay in character.
I never really gave to much thought of how they all understand eachother in starwars until I watched this video.
@@juliangonzales3490 I always thought it was super weird. Like.... You clearly UNDERSTAND huttese but respond in English.
Universal translators became so standard, they never bothered to show or mention it apparently. It's just jammed into their brains.
For a hot second, I considered that your comment was referring to the issue of not knowing who helped establish the Rebel base on Hoth, but I quickly corrected myself.
Charles Barkley’s non-actor vibe makes this so much funnier.
Charles Barkley is the best sportsman to host SNL! Love him everytime he's back, he's always game for anything and seems like he always has a blast!
the polloeléctrico “Those beeps and stuff, that’s him talkin? I didn’t know that.” Sounds like he just thought of that line on the spot.
Barkley is funny on snl. See Macgruber.
Charles Barkley has always been naturally funny
@@thepolloelectrico1117 Would fit right in with the prequels.
I can’t believe they cut this, Barkley was hilarious.
Thomas Loveless I know right
"This is not the sketch Disney wants you to see." (In Jedi)
I kept waiting for the huge laughs to happen, and kept wondering why they didn't. This should absolutely not have been cut.
@@michaelanderson5747 (nagathalla?)
This looks so expensive for a cut sketch
Black Phillip it really does
Black Phillip doesn't matter.
They’ll reuse it next week
It does but Disney probably payed for it just because it's still cheaper than a trailer.
Black Phillip i thought the same
I gotta say, Alex Moffat's 'arrogant Imperial' acting is top notch
As soon as I saw him, I knew he was perfect for the role.
I seriously thought he was actually from the movie.
he was playing the Gran Moff(at) :D
Calling the rebel heroes "criminals." Pffft!
he was good as anything
As a _Star Wars_ fan, this is the highest budget low-budget movie I've ever seen in my life
And somehow it makes sense..! That's the weird part.
Ahh, just like the first Star Wars, lol.
They missed out on the chance to put Pete in that revealing Leia costume.
That would’ve been hot!
That'd look awful on him. He's too skinny and frankly, I don't think he has the hips for it.
Thank the maker!
Well I happen to find him attractive and wouldn’t mind the chance to see him wearing next to nothing.
@@jscorpio1987 to each his own, I suppose.
“Guys, please include me!”
That’s a mood right there.

+Darkside Hero iu
Emily B this looks fucking garbage ...disgracfull to loyal understanding starwars fans..no respect for the darkness an all the seriousness behind the humor, and how in our reality we have faces similar delamas😪
You can hear his heart breaking when he said that
The costume department really went off on this one. Alex Moffet in particular makes a perfect imperial officer.
Alex almost went full Spaceball there. 😂
Lot's of money and time here, excellent production.
"All this time he was talking? I thought he was just making dog noises. I said things to him. Private things."
It proves that he's loyal as heck
That definitely my favorite line until, "Man, £^¢% this!"
The language thing and the fact that everyone is an engineer in Star Wars always made me feel stupid when I watched the movies
Oh my god same!!
Ya figure people would pick up *some* stuff, but it'd be like most people working on regular computers here, fix obviously broken crap by splicing burned up wires, bypassing safety devices, and replacing boards. Beyond that, it's take stuff apart and hope you can figure something out, then not be able to put it back together right.
That's probably why it took Han and Chewie a damn movie to try to fix something that was broken.
I never noticed the engineer thing before
My mind is blown
Its ANOTHER WORLD... ANOTHER REALITY.... just have fun with it.
@@GARY84ROCKS having fun is what SNL skits are for.
I was expecting Pete to say OK at the end of the skit 😂😂
yeah that was a brilliant opportunity missed
Idgi? Sorry
That would have been better. 😎
R Ree it's a response he often gives in sketches
R Ree Type Chad Snl. You will thank us later.
Actual footage of me in AP Spanish pretending to laugh at whatever the native speakers just said
Lol literally me yesterday
😆😆😆😆
Me in Python training.
Me trying to relate because I’m a polyglot and literally speak every single language...
In Star Wars...
Which is basically multiple forms of gibberish
VS me being the only one laughing in english class (I'm from france) when the teacher showed us monty python and feeling very alone too.
You can tell this sketch was written by someone who has watched Star Wars countless times and has thought about Star Wars in depth 😂 I love it.
Charles Barkley’s too funny. "Where is the school?" "Where is the school?" "Where is the school?"
Donda esta da bibliotheca
That was great and all, but seriously where is the school?
Umaka baba chooi naka taba smooi...
Fr
Dr Phot Oh! Thanks!
This was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Alexiosization It's "you're", not "your". You dumb fuck. Why do people have so much trouble with distinguishing "your" and "you're"? I want to paraphrase my original comment and say where is your elementary school at? I want to know because I would never recommend anyone go there. It's insane how many people in the RUclips comment section don't know the difference. If you want to act all zealous about your race then at least have the God damn common curtesy to have proper grammar.
Charles Barkley dressed up like a Jedi is the best thing EVER
- **threatens in foreign alien language**
- "Nagatala!"
I died.
I love the Charles Barkley keeps it real in every sketch he’s in. 😂
I can't stop crying omg this is fucking hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂 "guys, please include me"

“oh damn.” bahahaha. also, alex was literally perfect in his role lol.
SquirrelCake that’s literally the truth. He was literally perfect in this scene. I’m literally serious. Like cross my heart and literally hope to die.

charles is top five hosts for me. he's just perfect. i love the way he acts out imperfectly in the skits, it comes out perfect!
2:39 the wicked calm "oh damn" kills me
*Where is the school?*
donde esta la escuela?
No, Gracias! Soy Alergico a los crustaceos.
Did you just assumed my gender?
el coches arbol morado con queso
Do you know da way?
Why was this cut? This skit is funnier than some of the skits they included in the actual show.
No idea. It was funny and the quality was very high for an SNL sketch. Maybe corporate didn't like it since it is too close to being an advertisement for Star Wars, which is owned by a rival media company (Disney/ABC), though it seems like they would have stopped it before they even started working on it.
for time, its in the title.
then it wouldn't be on youtube either.
D. Garcia-Reyes no shit, but they decided to leave in other sketches that are arguably less funny and cut this one. They also most likely spent some money beyond what they normally do for this. That is what is perplexing. I just threw out an idea of why it was cut but stated at the end my doubts about that being the reason. Plus, they did a Star Wars sketch with Adam Driver a couple of seasons ago and that one wasn't "cut for time".
It's possible in rehearsal they thought they could fit it all in 90 minutes but realized towards the end they would be short the 3 minutes and 42 seconds needed for this. I still think they could have cut one of the last sketches or put this in towards the middle and left one of the less funny sketches in a spot to be eliminated if they didn't have enough time.
Cuz it’s not about Trump.
This was hilarious
I think Barkley stole the show here.
Props for doing your research! Shyriiwook is the canon name for the most common Wookiee language!
Charles Barkley is funny as hell😂😂😂😂
I was thinking...After just recently seeing an old MacGruber sketch..He should be a regular
True - he's great every time he hosts!
Haha hell yeah he's so much funnier than Shaq! (Nothing against Shaq but he sucks as an actor.) 😋
I’m American and trilingual but yeah I see your point.
@@zacharycollins9485 Shaq is a way better actor than Charles
This was hilarious lol, should've been in the show. I think Charles was perfect for this skit
Barkley killed it in this one..
“I feel dumber than the dog guy.”
FoggyNoggin grrrrrr
"Those beeps and stuff...thats him talkin?"
The jokes about languages are so true!
And funny.
At least Star Trek covers it with everyone having universal translators hidden in their ears.
I'd watch this movie. Kate and Mikey look amazing!
What does that have to do with me living these two people?
YESSS xDD
this is beautiful, i feel this dude
"Come on, Just include me!" "WTF is going on?"
"Wheres the school?"
The dog guy😂😂
OMG this guy impersonating Harrison Ford nail it to the tail!
Every body expression, the movement of the eyes all the mannerisms. I'm so impressed.
It must require an inch by inch study.
This is better than half of the skits that made it onto the show. I think they cut the wrong skit for time!
AGREED
Wermhats Wormhat that was suck a fancy way to say you dont like the new star wars films lol
Why do I feel like this would be an actual scene in a stand alone film. Like why is this actually really good?
The Wizard Warriors Like the quality of this sketch is really good! But like the writing at SNL really sucks! It’s like The Last Jedi but only worse!
Because you lap up endless Star Wars crap like a good sheep.
The Wizard Warriors good lighting, camera angles, sound technique on point, costuming is 10/10, honestly this is the effort SNL should be making on all skits in 2018.
steve conn what?
rfahy72 I thought The Last Jedi was good to be honest
This was fucking hilarious, probably my favorite Star Wars SNL skit that they’ve done. Charles Barkley is always really great.
I couldn't stop laughing after he said "where's the school" xD
Awkward how a skit this involved (read: expensive) got cut for time
They need to learn marketing. Call this a "digital extra" or something. "Cut for time" is just pissing people off.
revengefrommars yeah digital extra or something like that would be a lot better
revengefrommars what? Why does that piss people off?
Did you think that "cut for time" means that they didn't include it in the live show? The SNL cut for times are just prerecorded sketches that are played in between the live sketches to give the actors time for costumes changes, etc..
Ophelia Adelaide I watched the entire episode, and no, this sketch wasn't in it. It's a deleted scene.
"where is the school where is the school?"
PHILOSOPHY 100000000000
Bruh Charles' got a mad serious point tho I had always wondered the same
SNL at its best: answering questions we never even knew we *needed* to be answered.
Never really answered anything though. How the hell do they understand all the languages including robot beep-speak? I still don’t know.
Didn't need asking. The skit is fun but wildly inaccurate.
LMAO the ending killed me
Where is Bill Hader when you need one.
Bill is the droid
5556655
WILLIAM THOMAS HADER JR IS A PERSON, GOD DAMN IT, NOT A NUMBER
Ivan Cvenić ikr thats what i was thinkin
crett Hm. Sounds like something Bill Hader would say. Reveal yourself!
Alex Moffat suits the Imperial officer role very well and I don't know why lol
This brings up a very valid point about how many people could fluently speak across all these languages without the use of some highly sophisticated translator
A Babel fish....?
Kate being Rey aaahh everything is complete now.🙂
I was ready for the pilot to just say "Ok." In typical Chad fashion.
Why is there no translation needed in all the star wars movies?
In A New Hope, I believe Luke asks "what did he say?" ???
That's actually what C-3PO is supposed to be doing in Jabba's Palace in Return of the Jedi.
Because you can usually understand R2 and Chewie through context
Shri wook and droid binary beeps are understood by most people but not fully by Luke (he talked to r2 on the X wing screen that translated him)
They have protocol droids for that; & there are actually some subs, but I can't remember which of the dozens of films or episodes they're in 🙄
It's amazing that one of the best sketches ever was "cut for time."
Am I supposed to be the Black guy?
Obi-Wan Kenobi Hello There!
Jordan Cabral General Kenobi
but do u have the high ground tho?
no no I am the High Ground
No no no u do, by five feet
How come this was cut from the show? It was hilarious 😂😂😂Also, it may be just the nerd inside of me, but Mickey Day dressed up in that Han Solo-ish way is like a dream come true 😂
*Mikey
" I said stuff in front of him. Personal stuff."😂
0:35
Kate's first line should've been "I got a bad feeling about this."
toddsmitts - or “mmmm, I like this. Can I borrow him for a sec?”
Lol weird that this was cut tonight. Barkley's best work since SPACE JAM 🏆😂
Wow the budget for this
must've been quite large!
:0
Channel for Positivity l Understanding l Justice I am sure it was created by and paid for by Disney to promote Solo. The Solo movie is going to tank!
rfahy72 do they even have to pay? What network does Disney not own these days?
kr7437a NBC
What are we doin!??? Barkley's bewildered expression cracked me the f Up.
1:03 -- Man, that little bird-thing was killing me. Looks like a child version of the thing on real Jabba.
Charles Barkley's acting is perfect for this.
I have to say Barklay is surprisingly funny in virtually all SNL skits
Eh nada bueno en la kristen wig "shana?" sketch yo think.
"I've said a lot of stuff in front of him...private stuff...."
This reminds me of every Star Wars table top rpg game we ever played in collage.
Not a great college if they taught you to spell it as collage.
WHERE IS THE SCHOOL!!!
This is probably a stupid question, but can you explain the reference? lol
Hello Goodbye school shooting joke not funny 😒😒
+1999sonicboom uhhh no it's not. Watch the skit before commenting.
1999sonicboom no it's a reference to this video.... Wtf?
That foo Charles said “where is the school?” that was so cold haha 😂
Alex Moffat has a certain Inglourious Basterds Christoph Waltz vibe going
Mikey day is going to kill me god what a man
Finally the question I always about this movie has been brought forward
As someone who's never seen Star Wars, this is EXACTLY how it feels to be outside of it! I'm so confused & overwhelmed. I have a hard enough time understanding HUMAN BEINGS ON EARTH- 😭😂😂
Your okay with human beings on another planet? I need to know a bit more.
Then you should see the Movies, they are very good, the language joke hits even harder once you seen the Movies actually
“Oh damn” best line reading ever.
2:39 Idk why but his deadass look on the face while saying this had me cracking
this had me SCREAMING laughing oh my goodness so dang funny
enbykenz sarcasm?
Opinion: This skit had a better script than the entire Disney trilogy.
And episode 123
Right there with you! They should have started the casting list with this bunch and gone from there.
@@masakazuishiguro8525 Nah man, 123 is legit compared to the new trilogy. We didn't even know how good we had it. Would have been even better without Jar jar... and yes, Hayden was angsty, but at least managed to fit the role decently.
"Man I said a lot of stuff in infront of him, *private stuff* " I hollered
Americans are thinking, “yeah, who speaks more than one language?”
Europeans are thinking, “this is completely relatable..”
To be real, most people only learn the language they were raised on. Some people might learn a second one or be raised on 2, which often will be the most common second language in the world, English.
Relatively few learn 3 or more and often they're related languages, like Latin-based languages or ones you can basically work for word swap like Korean & Japanese.
Fortunately, some languages are similar enough to one you know that you can kinda piece together a rough idea what someone is saying and say something back that's close to get the points across more often than not, such as with Dutch vs German.
@@InfernosReaper Or Austrian and German.
:-D
Ditchtenders be thinking "like I'm gonna call the ranch manager so he can ask his irrigators when he'll be done with the water and them call me back. Just give me your irrigators number and I'll talk to him in Spanish.
Depends where you're from, in Germany everyone has to learn English in school as 2nd language, a third is mandatory in grammar school and you can take a fourth later. So everyone who went to university knows at least 3 languages.
Not everyone is fluent in all of them, but we had to learn them at some point and most people are at least able to speak Englisch. I think it's the same im most of Europe
@@InfernosReaper Not necessarily. In places where you need to speak many languages people can have several under their belt quite easily.
I lived in Finland where it was required that all students speak Finnish and Swedish and English was de facto required as little media was translated. These three languages have virtually nothing in common. Then, many people also spoke German, French or Russian as well.
In a place like Netherlands the language expectations are even higher given how little of the world speaks Dutch and that they are surrounded by languages like English French and German as well as Flemish and Danish.
Best SNL skit I've seen in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time
This skit was better than The Last Jedi
True. Like everybody in there speak like 6 different lenguages. Some just noise ones. How did that happen???
*languages
I'm guessing they must have some type of real time translator implant, or perhaps they have easily available technology to instill languages. The only other character I can think of that didn't speak another language was in Rebels.
Sorry to spoil the joke, but in multilingual places, a lot of people understand quite a bit more than they speak.
I would never call myself fluent in Spanish, but I can get the gist of what customers at work are saying, I just don't have the vocabulary to respond to everything, but they get the idea of what I'm saying in English.
In Austria, most people speak German or Austro-Bavarian, but will have a functional understanding of English, French and Italian, which are commonly spoken. In South Africa, Zulu, Afrikaans and English are spoken by some and understood by many.
Lisabeth Hanscom Uhhh, Austrians don’t just know French, English and Italian by picking it up somewhere. Don’t know if you meant it that way, but that’s what it sounds like. It’s because you have to learn a minimum of 2 foreign languages in school. One is English, and the other is usually either French, Italian or Spanish. I even had to learn Latin. Most of my friends took Russian as an elective on top of the obligatory French, English and Latin we already had.
Well you have to look at the characters. Force sensitives like Luke, Leia and Rey have a preternatural ability with languages, so they can pretty much understand anyone they meet. Being good with languages was one of the ways they identified force sensitives. And people like Han travel a lot and have to talk to lots of different people - Han wouldn't be able to live as a smuggler if he couldn't talk to Hutts or communicate with his co-pilot.
Someone who specifically doesn't understand the different languages is Finn, who was, in his own words, "raised to do one thing" and it wasn't talking to droids or Wookies.
"What did he say?"
"What are we doing?"
"they talk in their language and you answer back in our language"
well it's not like this is the only franchise that does that. Ocean's Eleven, for example.
It's the best way to communicate when both understand each other's language, neither one embarasses himself with a poor pronunciation of the other's language.
In a night full of duds, how could they cut this creative (and likely costly) skit?
Because there was no forced audience laughter.
Why do droids even have their own language? What designer thought that would be a good idea? "Hey so you got the droids able to speak English right?"
"Nah I decided to give them their own language of beeps and boops, and make every human in the Galaxy learn it instead."
At one time geeks had to learn morse code to talk to each other on air in dots and dashes.
If you really want to know, ask Lucas. He'll probably say the droids have their own language because it feels more exotic. Like they're really from another galaxy. Don't think too much. Just try to have fun with it. Like when you were a kid, and didn't care about logic.
"Easy, Dogtata! He was just joking!"😄
I laughed so hard at this. Why would you cut this? It looks like it cost a lot of money and it had JJ Abrams.
Now this was funny 😂 on so many levels
nope not even one.
Mikey Day makes a good Solo
That's the best Sketch I've seen in a long time.
Me when I'm in public speaking to people with my inside voice 02:21
This is so well produced
I've said alot of stuff in front of him ...... PRIVATE STUFF! LOL underrated joke
I like how they made the shootout ending look like the Basement Shootout scene in Inglorious Bastards.
Noone can be as funny-clueless as charles barkley
...Mikey Day would’ve actually made a great young Han.
Here in 2020; Thanks for the grins and giggles! Most needed!
This was one of the best sketches ever! Why was it cut for time? Can't they just have played it the following week???
Only McGruber could get them out this situation.
& he'd do it with Eddie Money playing
I don’t know where I would be in life without SNL 😂😂🙌🙌
Cody Whitlock probably smarter
