I totally agree. The older the homes and people , the more variety of stuff. I’m also hesitant about garage sailing in newer neighborhoods. Anyhow, cheers
I would have checked them out too if i had more time, because you never know...some girl might have got bored with her Taylor Swift records...but much more likely to find records in older neighborhoods.
Love the watch the Sunday morning Tuco vids. There is an estate sale nearby but all the yard sales etc I've been to around here never have records. I did find a WWII German helmet though in a garage sale around here 20 years ago. I'm moving to this neighborhood HA HA! And here I am.
It's funny because i started posting on Sunday mornings because that's when youtube said most of my viewers are on youtube....but afterwards i got to thinking that my videos are probably the right sort of "chill" for drinking coffee and waking up slowly on a Sunday morning.
@@VinylHunter Yep most definitely! Thease days folks can't take a joke like The Mentors but they were pretty good musicians Sickie just wailed on guitar & El Duce's funny, catchy songs were gold! Looking forward 4 the next video cheers!
I think the record bandit was Rob the waxed. I saw in another of your videos a comment that he was searching zillow for property in Nebraska after you found a bunch of good albums😁. Foreigner and Nazareth are toys in the attic are my favorite out of this batch.
Older homes and people NOT ALWAYS. Newer homes have more storage space for pack rats. Many yrs.ago I learned the most important dirtiest secret from the pros. Hit the garage sales houses (already advertised) days before the sale date. All the good stuff gets grapped by resellers. I tried this and 2 out of 10 will permit you to look through. Honestly I've never found obscure or grails, although a few good finds. Thanks for sharing and ☮️.
@@VinylHunter I listened closely to these resellers(con men) and quickly found out that it truely is THE WILD WILD WEST, out there. I believe it was last year that on the news, a huge collection was stolen from a house. The owner was on holidays and this is more common, than you think. I knew of an employee that had his best stuff stolen, when he was on holidays. When my house was broken into twice, lucky that the thieves thought vinyl was worthless. Makes you think twice about posting and exposing yourself on any media platform. There are only two kinds of people in this world. Those with guns and those without?? Take care and ☮️.
I'm a town-wide garage sale seeker also, but they have pretty much dried out for the year. I have my best luck at the beginning of the seasons. I know this video was probably done at the first of the season. It's always a great idea to ask about records as some people still act surprised that someone would be looking for records. They must not get out much. The Vinyl Bandit was me in another dimension. Looks like the ones you picked up were in excellent condition, probably because they weren't sitting out in the sun since she had to bring them out from her house. Nice titles!
I live outside of L.A. California,at 62 years old now, I witnessed alot of Shows, stumbled into a Mentors show at the Music Machine around the time of Their first 12",saw them a few times after.El was always good for a laugh if You were Male and probably over offensive if You didn't know Him.He was a little out of hand at a Black Flag show in the basement of the Cathade De Grande, still horrifies an old Friend of mine to this Day.She also had Blackish Lawless throw Meat at Her for Heckling Him...I really enjoy Your channel.
Only time I ever had to defend my home from theft, I did it with a wooden bokken. Sword 1 Intruder 0. As for the area there, one of the Butcher albums I found this year was in a home like the ones in the beginning. The guy was trying to sell off his in-law's estate, which most was in his garage. I find a lot of blue collar workers live in these homes and that equates into 70s-90s LPs.
I've never found a butcher...but i was recently on a dig where someone else found one. It's the only one I've ever seen. I took my picture with it. 🤣😂🤣
@@VinylHunter I'm sure you'll find one, and then you'll sit there blinking like, "Did I just find this?" The hunt is the greatest thing, a treasure hunt. Love that you're not just hunting for RL Led Zeppelins or Pink Floyd. I've gone to so many estate and garage sales where hunters I know are disappointed that they didn't pull down a ton of rock. They beat me there, but they leave empty handed. I go over to the stacks. I find outrageously rare rock, psych, etc 45s (45s are beneath them) or rare jazz, soul, funk LPs, or amazing 78s (my specialty). I love that those I'm running against are ignorant of true value. Even when they find their Zeppelins, they buy the trashiest ones I've ever seen, not early pressings, that won't even play without damaging their needles. Really crazy. They don't educate themselves about anything outside of their comfort zone, and most times, not even that. Can't wait to see you dig up a Butcher. Too many of them out there for you not to find one. I suspect it'll be one with the sticker still attached though. Most people don't know how to figure that one out.
Ever since I moved to Lincoln this year, seems like I don't venture out of town much anymore or at least very often. I almost gave up on garage sales entirely, but lately they've surprised me! I haven't been to Central City in a while. I think I had to go through there this summer cause there was road construction towards Silver Creek. If anyone's being competitive, you've surpassed me on these trips you take by a long shot haha.
Alright, four things man: 1 - just subbed 2 - I have never seen semi's drive through a subdivision like that 3 - does the state of Nebraska not believe in asphalt 4 - sweet BOC shirt, can't wait to watch more videos and cheers! Great channel!

Once again Tuco, I must remind you..although vinyl is so desired right now, and the competition can be intense, DON’T DISMISS CDs AT THIS TIME! While everyone is pawing through Barbra Streisand and old decrepit musicals in the album bins, I cannot get away from the Rock and Jazz in the CD bins! I always avoid "new" neighborhoods - those people have either tossed their older unwanted stuff before moving or had no older stuff to get rid of. And forget millennials, they usually have bare bones homes, bare walls, and buy barely nothing that would personalize or give character to their home! You will have a little more luck with the Gen Xers!
