These are great. I wish all mountains had these. Actual, usable information for people that haven't skied a place before.

Skied Arapahoe all the time in the 1970s. We would drive down Highway 6 and park a car at Montezuma (long before Keystone ever existed). Drive back up to Arapahoe in another car, ride to the top and ski down the back. It was unofficially called Beaver Creek run back then. 7.5 miles of untracked powder much of it thru the trees. We called it "timber bashin'". It took most of the afternoon, but was the best skiing known to man. Terrific memories. I'm 74 now, and still skiing around Lake Tahoe, but have kept in touch with the crowd who skied Arapahoe in those days. A few are still at it.

Here's to you Pete!! That brings back memories to me big time. I did the same thing regularly in the 80's when I lived in summit cty. We would primarily use the lifts to access the gates and do rotations in the Beavs, hitchhiking to get back to the parking lot. In the summer we'd mtn bike up from Keystone and over the top on the Lenewee trail to Montezuma road. I hated when magazines like Powder would mention our secret stashes, we wanted them for ourselves...untracked. When the resort would get crowded, we'd ski Loveland pass (both sides) and Dave's Wave. A little later I switched to tele and moved to skiing Berthoud pass three times a week because it was closer to where I moved. Now I'm older back to Alpine, but I'm always searching for powder. There are no friends on a powder day.
