It' sad to see untalented musicians in the mainstream but people like Mr. Moreland don't get the recognition they deserve. This is what music is right here. Thank you John Moreland, I love your music brother.
The music production industry is all about looks and charisma and the ability to sell the product to as wide an audience as possible. That's how it's always been, but cultural tastes change and now Bieber gets far more acclaim and reward than true music makers.
I live in Nashville and retired here. The root problem is that everyone wants to be a songwriter/performer but the demand is very limited. The music industry is probably the epitome of lopsided supply and demand economics and for every recording contract or songwriter's job that becomes available there are thousands of candidates to consider from. The market is so tight that writers/performers have almost no chance of even having their work considered. Yet, the hopeful still pour into the city daily. Too bad you can't eat dreams. You should go backstage at the Opry where security has to hold back the dozens of songwriters who are trying to shove lyrics into the hands of the artists as they come off stage. Yeah, Moreland is good... damn good, and it means absolutely nothing.

Saw him in Oct, 2019. Last show I was able to go to before detoxing. A pin wouldn’t of dared to drop. Love his albums but he’s the best singer/songwriter I’ve ever seen live.
I think you are one of the best current musicians, and a true songwriter.That said i don't really listen to modern musicians, i tuned out years ago, but hearing this gives me a feeling good music is still out there, and i've just got to look for it.

John Moreland is the greatest of the great and I have been freely band promoting for ages....Did it free on MySpace for many years. They send me their music.....i could send u my empty house address or apartment? The house needs repairs but i loved it and owned it prior to our Son or our Marriage. He the x seems to wish to ruin my kia jeep and house out of hate because i paid for and divorced him. He never bought me a house, car or ring and i bore him a handsome still sweet Son. So he drugs him on toxic street stuff but mostly pot when here at apartment and keeps him from women think he is still a Virgin. Chris needs an intervention but would hate me for he loves this evil stuff his Dad has on him. He would take Todd's blame for things Todd did or forced him to do.

I will say I am biased because he’s my favorite musician that’s still alive.
The only way we keep Mr. Moreland writing and playing his music is if we go to his concerts or buy his music. This I will do because, damn, he's good.
