As someone who works and stays in Haldia 5 days a week, and travel back to Kolkata on weekends, I have done this journey many times. It feels so glad to see someone to make a timelapse of it, because I never took the initiative. 😅 However, an interesting fact, most people who commute between Kolkata and Haldia, including me, use buses as they pass through a much shorter route and takes a lot less time. By bus it takes about 2 and a half hours from Esplanade.
@@driptasankarlahiri5656 Already train line is there till Diamond Harbour. Need to connect Diamond Harbour to Haldia by train. Need to build a bridge like in Rameshwaram or Bogibeel bridge.

Yes because Kolkata suburban network doesn't run throughout the city and is much more spread out into the hinterland area unlike Mumbai which explains the higher expanse but lower ridership of Kolkata suburban than Mumbai suburban
