Just to give you a little bit of encouragement, my husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, stage four in one lung due to Agent Orange. He had 6 treatments every 21 days of RCHOP. With a lot of prayer and an amazing medical team at the VA in Houston, he is now considered cured going on 6 years. There is power in prayer and your son will be in my prayers. I’ll try to contribute.
Praying for a full recovery for Tyler. I had what he has and took chemo and radiation. Happy to say, I am in full remission. I have faith in the doctors and medication. I have faith he will come out fine. Yes each treatment is expensive!
My wife and I are very sorry to hear this. We will keep Tyler and your family in our prayers. I'm in remission a year ago of stage 4 lung cancer. I'm still doing treatments every 6 weeks with Keytruda. The medications these days can work miracles, and prayers go a long ways. 🙏
$130,000 per treatment? Our country is lopsided. I’m glad he has you guys. I know a few people who are doing great after stage 3 and stage 4 after treatment. What ever happened to free healthcare for everyone?
Dave and Irene, I'm a longtime follower and lurker from TX, but just wanted to say I'm sending every good vibe I have to your son and the both of you...I know Tyler will beat this thing. Speaking from my own experience, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer last Spring at 59 years old, and went through the whole gamut - 30 rounds of radiation, 6 months of chemo, 4 surgeries....can't sugarcoat it, the treatments were tough and some days were awful, but happy to say I am now cancer-free and in "maintenance mode" where I have have blood checks and scans several times a year to make sure there's no recurrence. Tyler's got this! :D
There ain't no words that haven't been said already. We are down in Oregon now and headed back to WA in a few weeks. Home is in Tacoma so if you think of anything we can offer in the way of help please reach out. Sending all our Love
As parents this is never good, and please accept and give prayers for his recovery and for the strength of all who care for this young man. You are so correct regarding the insurance industry. Keep thinking good thoughts , stay strong.
Thanks for sharing. Family support is tremendous help for him and you. Insurance is almost as bad as his cancer! Sorry for your son. We're stuck in FL this summer as our Best Friend had medical care at UF. Wife had ca tx several years ago when we began F.T. rv'g. She is my private nurse and knows all the insurance hoops to jump through and was a great asset to our friends here. Offer still stands to meet up at Satchel's Pizza. My apologies for not becoming a Patron....
I have been on this demanding road - the love of family and friends that are there and know how and when to help makes the difference between believing with hours here and there of serenity and being absorbed into the confusion and despair this complex battle brings. When you have the talents of exceptional doctors and caregivers you immediately know the difference and feel so thankful and blessed such people are on your side
So sorry your son is having to go through cancer and at such a young age. Wonderful he has you by his side.....love your positivity! Wishing you all good news as you Carey on.
I am so sorry that you, Tyler and your family are going through this. It is so very hard as parents to watch your child suffer. My daughter is a stage 4 breast cancer survivor and I recall how helpless I felt and how much I wished I could go through the chemo, surgery and radiology for her. Tyler is so lucky to have such wonderful parents who are there for him and maintaining a positive attitude which I believe is a huge factor in the outcome. We watch you having such good times on the road, it’s easy to forget that you are people too, with many of the same the challenges and ups and downs we all experience. I am so grateful you continue to share and spread that positive ‘Carey On’ energy through it all. Thank you! ❤️ I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much ❤️🙏 You’re right, there’s nothing we wouldn’t do to take this from him. So sorry you had to go through that with your daughter. And so happy to hear she’s a survivor! 💪🏼❤️
Hi guys, so sorry to hear this it must be a huge shock. I really do know how you feel because my wife had the same thing many years ago and it was terrible really terrible. We lived in England at the time but of cause in the UK the treatment is free as it is here in Australia. Anyhow she is still here 60 years later. So good luck to your son and we hope he is going to get well soon. Jon🇦🇺
Sending good thoughts for Tyler. With his Carey On support, I am sure he will be back in the saddle soon. You guys were only about 5 miles from us when you passed Olympia. Maybe next time, you can drop off my tape measure.
Sister in Jan 23 diagnosed with same cancer at age of 69. 6 months of R-CHOP treatment. She did amazingly well. No cancer after the 6 months. Will be getting a one year CT scan this month. Praying all goes well for Tyler.

Sorry to hear about your son. I hope he will have a full recovery. The SuTab, colonoscopy prep, is much, much better than the salty liquid. They're a bit hard to choke down, but easier on the taste buds and tummy.
All the best for your son to be a survivor, and all the best to the entire family. I lost both of my parents to cancer, and I am currently working through cancer treatment myself. The "C" word is ugly!! I am also retired, but in my career; I helped develop the purification process for a monoclonal antibody used for Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and was a scientific support person for it's manufacture.
I have a friend (also in Oregon) and she did the pills instead of the gross drink the last time she had the colonoscopy and she had to stop twice for a restroom on the way to the hospital !! At least you have a toilet in your camper!

You two may be far from medicare, but remember this when signing up (it could change eventually though). Original medicare with supplemental is expensive. More than advantage, but we pay it. We not want insurance to dictate. I sure hope your son heals. Where is the go fund me page? My blessings to your son and thank you for sharing. ❤❤️

I'm so sorry to hear what you're son is going thru and I'm glad his situation is stable. Try to stay strong and cheerful! I've lost 2 family members to cancer because they didn't have adequate health insurance and didn't get timely treatment. The US healthcare system is downright evil the way it's structured. This is the richest county in the history of the world, but we can't have universal healthcare when far less wealthy countries have been doing it forever? It's absurd and infuriating. Medical debt has ruined the lives of many people I know and that is inexcusable.
