Mailchimp Tutorial 2020 | For Beginners

- Mailchimp has changed a lot over the months. That is why I created a new tutorial. NOw you can follow every step of the tutorial again. In this video I show you step by step how to sign up for Mailchimp, create an emaillist a.k.a. audience, create subgroups using tags, add people to your list using Mailchimps sign up forms. I will also show you how to get opt ins using free Wordpress opt in plugins.
When you grow your list you want to send emails to the list. You can do that through Campaigns. I will show you how to set up a campaign from scratch, add images, video's, style your email en save your Campaign as a template so you can save a lot of time for the next email Campaign.
I will show you how reports work, how to send a welcome email to the people that opt in and how to redirect people to the gift you have for them when they sign up. It can be an eBook, free webinar, discount code. Whatever you have in mind.

As of 17 July 2020, I can't follow you step by step - because MailChimp doesn't look like this anymore. But I watched the whole video and I feel much more familiar with what is possible with Mailchimp. I does more (for free) than I was aware of, and I think it's worth learning and trying out. Awesome tutorial! This really helped me understand MailChimp -- I didn't know ANYTHING about it.
I just wanted to ask you, how do you add/automate tags for users who subscribed using the Sumo pop-up and how do you overwrite already subscribed users. In the tutorial, you were able to sign up three times using the same email via the Sumo pop-up.

Thanks so much for this tutorial. As a non tech-savvy "newbie," I found it very helpful. I do have a question which is really basic, but I'd appreciate some info. I'm on the free plan and have published an opt-in/landing page and an automated welcome email was sent out to those who subscribed. I've subsequently created and sent out three follow up emails to these initial subscribers (the subsequent three emails can only be automated on a paid plan). So in the free plan, when additional new people "opt-in" and get the automated welcome email how do I send them the subsequent three emails?

And, my question is (maybe you answered it, but I can't seem to find it specifically), when I want to create a new audience, for a new opt-in for example, would (or should?) that new opt-in form have a different code (or I'm not sure what?) to differentiate THAT list from the regular newsletter list (although I understand the audience will all eventually go into just ONE audience on the free platform)?
How do I segment a new audience? When you create a new 'audience', does it create a different sign up form, but still add it to the one 'list' that's allowed?
I'm sure it's simple, and it's all right there... perhaps I just missed it? Or didn't understand it?

I encountered a problem though. When double opt-in was disabled, the welcome email wasn't delivered. When I enabled it, it worked. Just a small remark, because you didn't enable the opt-in either.

But to integrate into Wordpress, Elementor Pro do you recommend we use contact form 7 too or is this enough? Would LOVE some understanding of this because you have a tutorial on contact form 7 too and I don't know what will be best???

hello Ferdy :) thank you so much for this tutorial! As a beginner in mail marketing I really found it very helpful. I'm running a business using a wix website. The fact is that on Wix I can only send 3 campaigns/month with a total of 5000 mails. The functions between the two are pretty much similar on the basic plan, so I'm trying to figure out if I should stick to Mailchimp (I have built a list over the past months) or just manage everything on Wix. What do you think? thank you in advance

Great tutorial! I've followed along until However, when I get to building email campaigns, MailChimp pop us a long box with a left arrow and an exit x on the right. No places/fields for building emails. Grrr. Any thoughts?
