鍋ヶ滝について
鍋ヶ滝は黒川温泉から車で約20分の小国町にあります。
この滝のいちばんの特徴は滝を裏側から眺めることができる事です。
そのため、別名「裏見の滝」と呼ばれます。
滝の落差は約10mと規模は小さいですが、幅は約20mあり、
カーテンのように幅広く落ちる水が木漏れ日に照らされる様子は、
とても優美で神秘的です。
阿蘇のカルデラをつくった約9万年前の巨大噴火でできたとされるこの滝は、
長い年月をかけて現在の形になりました。
滝上部の固い岩盤や滝裏のやわらかい地層は、今も浸食等を繰り返し、
少しずつ形を変えています。
某お茶のＣＭで一躍小国町の人気スポットに。
