Here in the U.K. with my Randy 3 I’ve regularly picked up Italy, Germany, Scotland (I’m in South East England) and one particular afternoon was getting the whole of the U.S East coast and up into Canada with the standard antenna, this was receive only of course.

That noise reduction circuit has to be the best advancement in FM CB in many a long year! The novelty soon wears off with Olga and it just becomes an annoyance. During the peak of the last cycle, CB pretty much became a night time only band for local chat/nets and we lost a lot of CB'ers to alternative bands or means of communication - around these parts at least, it's never really recovered. Cheers

Another great vid! Worth trying the loop antenna again. You will need the feedpoint at 3,or 9 o’clock for vertical polarisation. If it’s at the bottom it will be horizontal, ok for skip, but not local comms if the other end is using a vertical

I used to chuck a sigma IV into the back of my Capri and drive onto the top floor of Queensgate and sideband from my Tristar 848.
Caan't even take a video camera in there these days and if you go onto top floor security come snooping around.

Next week I will be returning to the CB band here on the Belgian coast after an interruption of 22 years and I remember very well that at that time I had a Tandy 2 watt 40 channels FM walkie talkie and I but a shorter antenna on it because that was cooler thing to do and now we go back to the telescopic antennas which are actually much better.

I am in the US and 11 meters CB has been crazy at times. I have the thunderpole TX and it is great,. the noise reduction is super. I did get the 54 cm duck antenna from thunderpole as well. big improvement over stock antenna .I took one of my HAM antenna's and re cut wire for CB. end fed half wave . put that on a DX commander pole and lean it in a tree and I got out great. even worked some skip with a hand held. I haven't herd Russia on CB yet. I did on 10 meters last solar cycle. for me the UK is gray line skip on CB and winter months. I am in NY . thanks to Louis with the ling I got the thunderpole TX . took some time keep selling out. we finally got FM on CB in the US. was AM SSB only. 73's

Channels about 26 UK should be clearer as that's one band further up (2 bands up from US/EU) and so is probably less often used.

@@andykirby I was on 10m today, made some contacts, mostly to contest stations, but it was jam packed right across the band, difficult to get a word in, especially as I was effectively QRP at around 5W with some pretty big stations out there, breaking through the pileups was a challenge. 😊

Give me a break... Who actually cares about a synth audio track that has no artistic value?
Dork needs to create a separate "music" channel and not mix his ego with facts.
No more interest in this channel due to above...+ no valuable information connecting a Heltec with Meshtastic.
      I give up.
      You win.
      No sale.
