We picked up some pullets at the State Fair this summer, and one turned out to be a Roo. We're not supposed to have them because we are not in a rural area so I bought one of these and got it on him early. I can tell you that it is a success! He still tries sometimes, but it's no louder than ordinary Hen clucking! Before you throw your rooster in the pot, I recommend giving this a try! I can't say for sure, but starting young before they really find their voice is probably a good idea.
We keep 1 rooster. A Cuckoo Maran. I placed the collar on him at 14 weeks, BEFORE he started crowing. When he crows now, he sounds like a dove. The hens are FAR louder than him.👍
We have 4 roosters that are all 8 wks old and 3 just started crowing over the past few days. I tried the collar on one and it acted so anguished. The only way to keep one is if we get the collar to work.
LOL seriously, dogs barking is as louder if not louder than roosters crowing, yet most people in urban areas don't really complain about that... Seems like a double standard...
I can see why you have kept all the Roosters, they look amazing !!!! and I didn't know you could put little necklaces and stop them from making a noise.
@StrangeSkies1111 you got to do what you got to do, you could use a specially designed shock collar that is triggered by crowing, rooster are intelligent and can learn. They'll associate crowing with a shock, hens are not so intelligent but they also don't crow.
Идея хорошая и это работает. Но я читала, что такой ошейник очень натирает шею петуху, надо прокладывать мягкую ткань под липучку и хорошо поправить перья, вытащив их из под ошейника.
If you can snuggly fit a finger beneath it, that's the right amount of tight. Roosters have extra air capacity so they can really fill their lungs and belt one out. The collars prevent them from overfilling their lungs and muffles the sound. Good luck!!

Hi! That's a great idea. Do you have to keep adjusting it as he grows bigger?
@@91jmchanprobably just a bit

And one for the dog......
He's terrible. I think he needs to wear 'the cone of shame'.
😂😅😅

I don't mind my Orpington's gentle crow.
I despise dogs barks. Too loud..

They've all gone now apart from one of each race. It's a lot quieter in the garden now, and we do miss their flamboyance.
The problem is this can cause your roosters to get sick if your not very carefull with how tight they are & even still can cause digestive infections

That dog needs one too
LOL 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
🤣 Cool chicken dancing. Those boys have some beautiful hackles on them! Very nice indeed.
Such placid sweet roosters!
Thanks for saving their lives
They all have new homes now, except for the one we kept.
How tight do you apply the hook and loop for it to be effective but without the drooling?
Good lord, I’d rather have ten roosters than that dog.
I was thinking the exact same thing! Obnoxious barking and one would think very stressful for the flock.
Dude your dog man. Great rooster video
Sorry might be a stupid question what's your silver at 3:43 beautiful bird

Will one of those collars work on that dog?
Well done
What if they are malting and the area is painful for them
Do you know what moulting is?? How would it effect the shedding of the feathers
How do you know how tight to make the velcro?

Doesn’t work for me. Ideal would be decrowed surgery.
Roosters are beautiful, they love making noise Lol
I buy from eBay collar not work
They sing in the morning to keep
Their body temperature high !!!😮
Was that a Velcro tape?
Yes, I think 4cm wide.
Or rather 15cm wide. Also don't sear h velcro tape. That comes with adhesive on the back. Try velcro strap.
People in the house next door just got one wakes us up and they wont use anything to stop it
Dog needs a collar too.. 😮
You need one for your dog too😅😅😅
That dog is going to eat your chickens
That 1 I got from eBay lil tiny not ur size 1
I have tried this and my rooster is still crowing. Am I not putting it on tight enough or does it just not work for some?
how low on the neck is it?
Put him under a milk crate at night he won’t crow in the morning as he can’t stretch his neck out
Not tight enough
@@nowirehangers2815 This seems like a better idea. Anybody that cares about their animals would not do this.
and one for the dog
Should have put dog somewhere else. Having a dog try and attack roosters that are also stressed is not helping. Dog should hang out with a bobcat…
😅😅👍
Make same sound loud as hell
The barking dog is worse
They don't look like they enjoy the collar. And I'm sure your yapping dog is not helping.
😂😂😂
My gawd--- what an undisciplined dog put him some place else when you film if you cant keep him quiet or put an electrical collar on him-- geez🙄
