The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 84-68. Matt Morgan was fantastic for the Hornets, as he shot 11-11 from the field, including 7-7 from beyond the arc on his way to a game-high 36 points as Jake Stephens (14 points, 7 rebounds) and Zavier Simpson (14 points, 8 assists) added 28 points.
Donovan Clingan (16 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks) and Bryce McGowens (16 points, 5 rebounds) led Portland in the loss.
The Hornets improve to 3-1 in the NBA 2K25 Summer League, while the Trail Blazers move to 2-2.

Matt Morgan did not play only in turkish, french (2nd in MVP race behind Wembanyama, if I am not mistaken and All French league first team 2023) and british league (BBL player of the year 2024, majority of games on RUclips BBL channel), he was also Eurocup (middle level European continental competition) bucket machine and first team 2023-2024 Eurocup. This is typical example what is some experienced overseas guy who was playing 2 games per week capable of doing, when he finds his rythm. Fun fact is that some guys impress with FGs like 5-13 (you know who do I mean, hehe) and get NBA contract pro bono, but this guys earns his every $ overseas. I guess he will stay in NBA story only if offered 2-way or NBA roster spot, otherwise he will come back to Europe I guess. He deserves to play in Euroleague at least if not given NBA opportunity

He did not get free pases or smh in Europe, but he followed traditional formula first practice more and play less , then when ready also participate in European continential competition under serbian coach Petar Bozic (who also coached in G league, if I am not mistaken). Making an NBA roster is also a lot of politics and GMs decision making, because there are only 450 jobs available currently
