I was a mechanical designer (designing some of the electronics modules and antenna mountings) on the TRD pod, introduced around '93 from memory for the Balkans. Good to hear it was still being used. The tow cable length was classified by the way! The decoy was the same as installed on Nimrods under UOR for Gulf war 1.

Jolly Fellla, nicely narating complex missions.

The F3 really matured nicely over the course of its career.
This is one BAD-ASS, dude!!!!!
He is indeed!
Another great interview Mike, good to see from all the F3 crews you've spoken to just how effective it became.
Cheers. Great to hear you enjoyed it.
Inspiring!
Huh, I never knew that about chaff, that it is cut at the same wavelength.
An excellent commentary.
That Skyflash is a big chunky piece of stuff! Imagine being in a MiG-23 or 29 and hit with one of those!!
That would be thank you and good nigth😢😢
Ofcourse it would! But do keep in mind that both the R-24 and the R-27 are just as chunky!
Awesome video
Thanks very much.
fascinating
Didn’t some of the F3s carry alarm anti radar missiles over Iraq ?
Dont think those were F3's, rather GR1B's

@@gansior4744 He is right, F3's were modded to perform SEAD, I remember AirForcesMonthly mqgazine did a feature on it at the time.
Removing booze improves any situation IMO
Almost like somebody had planned the IRAQ deployment. Spooky.
