Flower and Asura looks promising as the first Studio Bind anime not directed at the hardcore otaku audience...if you know what I mean. Rather, it's a high school club slice of life/drama with a strong sense of place. The main character seems frustratingly conflicted, but her interest - dramatic reading, gives a lot of potential for visual metaphors and for the voice actor to really show her skill. Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf is also pretty solid. Sort of an isekai and reverse isekai at the same time, as the main characters can travel between Japan where the MC comes from, and the fantasy world the elf girl comes from. Middling production but given what fantasy anime look like this season, it makes this look high quality by comparison. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Ave Mujica, but that is basically season 2 of MyGo, albeit refocused on characters who were all supporting characters in that show. but MyGo is good, actually, and people should watch it if they haven't already. if only for necessary context for Ave Mujica. this isn't a cute girls band anime - this is a fullblown meltdown psychodrama. you wanna see five girls probably have mental breakdowns? well, you're gonna want to watch. and listen to some bangin', ridiculously over the top operatic pop-rock in the process. yeah, okay, it's CGI, but SANZIGEN has been making a concerted effort to polish their style more and more, and it actually looks pretty good. oh and I'd be even more remiss not to mention Momentary Lily, which I haven't actually watched yet and still might not depending on whether the Bad Decision Devil manages to hypnotize me. it is the latest 'anime' produced by 'animation studio' GoHands, which I'm not convinced isn't some kind of corporate money laundering scheme. I don't know any other media situation where a company with such a misguided approach to everything consistently gets more funding to make things. why? money laundering scheme by the yakuza, I fully believe this. anyway, the anime? looks like insane dogshit, but nobody does it like GoHands. at least it moves, but at what cost? every strand of hair moves. someone described their cinematic approach as "as if the only movie they've ever seen is Battlefield Earth" to describe their permanent reliance on Dutch angles. but Momentary Lily is probably going to be the most entertaining dumpster fire of the year if your eyes are able to endure it and you don't have epilepsy.
Zenshu is my absolute favorite of the season. The first episode got so much references like Sailormoon or Utena!!! It’s been a long time an anime got me so hyped from just a single episode. The second one was more standard isekai but still good. I hope we will see more of her past.
I didn't get an ad in the middle of the video but I think the stuff I'm into this season are things like Sakamoto Days (been a big fan of the manga, even when it was starting up) and Honey Lemon Soda. I haven't chosen to watch an isekai this season but the headhunter or the one where the mc relies on amazon prime might be the closest ones I'd watch (the Sentai one feels like something I would likely binge when most of the episodes are out)
Nice overview of most of the Winter 2025 season. You really dug through the trash to do this review. I’m glad you summarized some of the anime I definitely wasn’t going to watch anyway to confirm why I’m skipping it. Why does Honey Lemon Soda feel like the lesser version of Skip and Loafer? The only ones you missed that I was curious about: Medalist, I Have a Crush at Work, Flower and Ashura, & Welcome to Japan Ms. Elf. Surprised you didn’t cover Dr. Stone, but not really necessary.
I didn't get an ad at your ad break but I did get a couple at other spots. My friends and I went through a big Sentai phase around gokaiger. So I'll be pleased with the season if the red ranger isekai manages some fun and silly entertainment
Shangri-la Frontier is making them look like a bunch of amateurs this season which surprisingly isn't saying anything bad about solo leveling. The big issue with solo leveling however is they keep skipping the story to get to the fights faster. It isn't necessarily a bad thing always but it hurts the overall series because you skip a lot of the context. PS. He also missed out on the incoming meteoric dumpster fires from the makers of Handshakers and from the guys who made that Berserk series that no one talks about. The series names are "Momentary Lily" and "Okitsura: Fell in love with an Okinawa girl but I just wish I knew what she was saying" if anyone is feeling brave.
It is still a long time away but when it comes out, I recommend "Kaya-chan isn't scary". If you watched Mieruko-chan and liked it, then you will love Kaya-chan. It has "Cute girl sees eldrich abomination", the protagonist can't/won't tell you what is going on, and what initially looks scary suddenly turns heartwarming. The big difference is that the kindergartener MC deals with the monsters as if she's One Punch Man.
Red Sentai isekai is like a Fan letter to the Tokusatsu, the cgi is fine, sentai cg is always off anyway, while even the newest sentai look a better but still off. There’s even going to be a kamen rider user later too.
I love fantasy but I'm a bit burned out on fantasy anime, too many of them coming out at the moment are the same story with a gimmick I've already seen done better. Lazy cashgrabs, basically. I mean obviously not every new fantasy anime can be Ascendance of a Bookworm but it's getting a tad excessive even for me. And RomComs are just as annoying now. Honestly anime seasons have felt a bit dry for the last few years barring an occasional sequel or Dr Ameku. Apothecary Diaries has never quite hit me the same way as Bookworm. Sure, it's got some Bookwormish qualities, but it feels...off. In Bookworm Myne uses real world knowledge which was readily available to her in the past. in AD, the MC instead just has mary sue levels of knowledge on things that feel unearned. It's largely saved by all the political intrigue going on. So i nthat sense it gives me a view of how Bookworm S4 will look.
Happy new year bro❤
Looking forward to your next bookworm video
Happy New Year!! Looking forward to a new Ascendence of a Bookworm video 😅 Hoping to get my fix. Please and Thank You
Same 😅
I am sorry to announce that I in fact did not get a ad in the middle of the video.
Same, which is unusual since greedy corporation.

damn you work so hard on videos ❤ hope you get more youtube money 💰

Didn't get an ad, not during the break at least.
Now a few more words to tickle the algorithm, unless they hacked the LLM onto it...
Solo Leveling is certainly a anime of an time.

It's never lupus lol
Happy new year
The only things I'm not watching here is Honey Lemon Soda and the Toilet anime
Bro ignored that one anime with the gooner groomer vampire…

Bogus Skill Fruitmaster is also known as Nutmaster as Kinomi can be read as nut... and this is a self-writing joke base :D

The manga story boarded this.... BTW, the manga just ended. It was sudden, and I hate it.

I love the comedy!
I have youtube premium so no adds.
hello
This season is really bad.
But Medalist is pretty good.
Her protagonist is like a Bocchi on ice.
Btw, Sorairo Utility feels really mid but with a lot of heart. His pilot ova convinced me to watch it.
What kind of ice? The below freezing ice or steal your neighbor's car and go on a 3 state highway chase ice?
@@JusticeforLiberty yes🗿👌
