    Excellent, excellent video! Thank you for taking the time to do this step by step process. Too often, too many people stop the video, knock out most of the work and then record again...very nice job.

    Great video! I did this same repair 2 years ago on daughters Mini and looks like the parts have failed again.. Your video makes it look so easy.. Anyways... Tomorrow I'm all in..for a 2nd time.
    Oh and Kudos on the part w/the plastic cement. Brilliant!
    Thanks again!

    Thanks for this! A butter knife works to remove the door panel. Done it a couple of times with none broken. The mini specific tools are stupid expensive. Minis are so fun until shit breaks and then it’s all pain in the ass. Makes me wish for days when you actually rolled the window down.

    Thanks for this great video! It helped me a lot doing the same repair. I was able to open and reuse the original clips that retain the cables at the top of the door. I opened and closed them with the window removed, which made it a lot easier to access them from the top with 2 small screw drivers. (You can just pull the window out from the top). On my 2004 Mini there were also 2 blue soft plastic spacers on the inboard side of the window at the position of the special "sprocket" screws that fixate the window to the mechanism.

    Great video. My passenger window will not roll up, the motor works though. I am going to watch you video again and work at the same time. Thank you for being very thorough.

    Thank you for actually saying what size allen tool was for the internal cog removal. That saved me a major headache. Much appreciated

    "TORX" (all caps) screws not 'torque' screws - thanks for posting the video - nice shots of the clips in place.

    I have watched other videos like your. Not as as good on video as you like the in depth shots inside and at the cable clips. You didn’t mention of the window slightly opens when you grab the door handle as on some cars it has to releas from the upper door/window seal before door can open. Does this car not have that and if so is there some kind of adjustment on the regulator to accommodate any adjustments. Thanks for a good detailed video

    so what do you do if the window is stuck in the up position cause the motor is jammed so you can't Lowe it enough to get those sprockets off to pull the window and regulator

  • @WR42Gaming
    @WR42Gaming 4 года назад +1

    Those sprockets would not come off so I wasted about an hour trying. No matter what I did they wouldn’t budge.

    Just install it one on my daughter mini cooper following your and others instructions, got a Dorman brand, got it installed, but when I push up button it goes down!!!!

    • @ls1camaro92
      @ls1camaro92  6 лет назад

      boricuajedi ok, first disconnect the battery. And then I would go to the harness on the motor. Have 2 blue butt connectors ready or a soldiering gun and then cut the harness. As crazy as it sounds, it works. And reverse the wires. That will reverse the current and work up and the down button in the correct path.

      Second Chance Repair Ahhhhh, if there not other problem, my daughter just have to used (learn), the way that is now, to scare to cut any cables! Thanks

      boricuajedi You can always remove your old motor if it’s good and mount it on the new window regulator and the switch will work correctly.

    Great video, just a question after install it u dont need to progam the window,because this car when u open the door the glass drops down a little bit and when u close it it goes a lilltle bit up.

      this is my life so what I actually have a Mustang that does that. But to be honest, window rolled up never affects the door closing and opening all the way. So I never applied it, but I’ve read there is a procedure but don’t know if this older model has it. Here is the procedure I’ve found and seems to be the same throughout multiple years.
      Insert the keys and turn on the ignition. It does not matter whether you start the car or not.
      Put the window all the way up (if you are able).
      Press and hold the window switch in the up position for 10 or more seconds. Do this with the door closed. Open the door to make sure the window drops as it should. Hope that helps. Thanks
