    She was saying the foam was expensive, I'll use a dollar store pool noodle. This was very informative, and I appreciated the content.

    Wow! Tonya was amazing. This was the best self wicking assembly example I've seen. Please invite her back for other plant projects.

    I love the guy she’s talking to.... it’s cute when he says how about that 😊... not sure if he is into gardening but he had me convinced. Great video

    Cool idea. Put a little cocktail umbrella in the top of the bobber straw so it's easy to see when to water

    For finding the level of water, Just take a wooden stick and dip it in to find the level just like a Lube oil dip stick.

    Great Video - Can self-watering wicking rope/cord be used in place of capillary mat fabric? Thank you.

      I am not sure, but it might work. As with a lot in gardening, see if it works.

    Could you plant container tomato plants this way for watering same method?

    • @FamilyPlotGarden
      @FamilyPlotGarden  4 года назад +2

      I have not tried this. It might work. Tomatoes can drink a gallon a day so you would need a big reservoir on a large plant

    Like the instructions for making the system. Particularly good to know there are certain plants that won't work. However, I have been looking for the tubing you used in the video. Will you give a link for the product or just the product brand? Thank you.

      I am not sure where she got the tubing, but I have been able to find similar by googling: polycarbonate tubing" or "hard plastic tubing" You could probable use some pipe if you have it laying around, it would be more visible though.

    Can I use felt instead of capillary matting?

    So did the water level only come up to the riser, or do you go all the way to the top of the outer decorative pot?

    • @FamilyPlotGarden
      @FamilyPlotGarden  Год назад +2

      To the top of the riser. You don't want the plant's soil to be underwater, as that will create root rot. Thanks.
