The Snap/Blip is such a good story option I wish the MCU would actually lean on, like how Tramatizing it must’ve been for people to just lose people like that…
true. i have found it so annoying how the blip is barely brought up in the following films. its always just used for jokes except for that one scene with Elena. it could bring up so many good stories

Make sense. The people I've spoken to who like L&T have two things in common: they like Waititi's sense of humour, and they don't watch Marvel movies as one big story (they treat it more like James Bond).
21:58 - want to point this out because this is different in the comics. Gorr's life was miserable. His mother putted in him belief that gods will always protect them but then she died after attack of animals. Then his misery continued. He lived for a very long time trying to believe in gods but then his child died. Then his tribe beated him and left him because he stopped beliving in their god. Then for some time he tried to survive on his own and almost died, like his child, from starvation. But then two gods fell from the sky after battle and lied on the ground. Gorr approched and one of them asked for help. And Gorr after so many losses and suffering screamed at him, tried to kill him, and then Hecrosword (which also a symbiote and a weapon of the second god) helps him with it, and after that Gorr started his quest.
My biggest issue with the mcu is since endgame, phase 4 all felt like a reaction to endgame. They never had any movies set up really after the finale bc everyone was left in the dark to keep spoilers at a minimum. It’s so obvious when the projects all feel rushed. Besides the one they seemed to have somewhat planned out which was no way home
What are you talking about? Rushed? Due to the pandemic they literally pushed movies back. Rather the conditions of the pandemic made filming very hard and affected the process a lot. That is the only reason why some post 2019 movies are rougher.
I like the Gorr and Thor changes, and agree especially on Jane and the others. I know I wasn’t a fan of much of the humor, but I also wasn’t as much of a fan of a fair chunk of Ragnarok’s either. Except “Get Help”. “Get help”, Thor’s recounting of the Loki snake story, and the interactions with Doctor Strange were fantastic. I can see what you mean about the idea that fans are fans of the wider, connected universe. I’ve seen that complaint a chunk. Personally, I don’t mind some of the standalone stories. I enjoyed Shang-chi, a fair chunk of Eternals (haven’t seen Wakanda forever, dr Strange…Don’t know if we will that one, or ant-man yet) and most of the shows (Loki was the lowest for me just because I don’t care as much for him or time travel plots, though there can be good stories with it). I wonder sometimes if Some of it is due to the other reaction from people, the idea that following other movies was needed to understand a different one. Which I get. It’s honestly one of the things that made me fall off watching the CW DC shows when I only cared about Arrow and Flash. Idk if that’s a big factor, but it’s certainly one I ponder as to the current state.

Eternity is in the comics. Eternity is a sentient being who has dialogues with other character. I always waited in anticipation for other cosmic beings to get involved in the MCU. However, in this movie, Eternity has been reduced to nothing more than a macguffin. Shameful direction! They wasted a big character on something that could have been literally anything else. It could have been a donut or some shit.

Madds Mickelson or Christian Bale? Who did Marvel waste the most? Edit: Stellan Skaarsgärd made a more memorable character with ~15 minutes of screen time in Dune than he did in 3 or 4 of these movies. I don't care to remember or look up the actual number. Wasted.
Not only that, but they cast him as one of the greatest Thor villains ever, for an adaptation of one of Thor’s most iconic stories, and they messed it up on every level. 😭
Thor in rangnarock was playful but he also used to get serious according to the situation like how while seeing the play at Asgaurd you can see his face and tell he thinks of it as dumb thing while the Thor from Love and thunder will enjoy such a thing. Also he went through so much in infinity war and endgame. And you can see how serious he was in infinity war he still cracked some jokes but most of the time he was invested and cared about defeating Thanos and while in endgame he became drunk and acted like fool he still had serious and emotional moments which elevated his character to be more emotional but in Love and Thunder he took everything as joke and he was dumb which is not character accurate, he can take big situation lightly cause he knows his power and not because he is dumb guy. They just forget somehow that Thor is thousands of year old God and while he can have fun he also is very intelligent guy with a lot of experience.
Cherry-picking scenes. You fail to mention that the movie opens with a scene of Thor conversing with a skeleton while trapped in some alien planet. This same character a movie ago threatened Stark for trying to make light out of a dark situation after their first fight with Ultron. What happened in between movies, did he receive the brain damage and don't know about it? Might explain a few things. And he keeps being stupid, unlikable, and character assassinated throughout the whole piece of sh1t movie. Yes, you mention that sh1tty scene - which, by the way, is garbage just by the fact how it resolves that one good thing Thor The Dull World left us with (Loki sitting on the throne) - but him acting all serious suddenly is exactly why Waititi's so-called take on Thor is such a gobbledygook of nonsense, because he's a walking contradiction. That same nonsense continues in Thor Dumb & Dumber when you watch him act like a total buffoon who likes to show off, but then when he meets ''Zeus'', who acts exactly like he did an hour earlier, he suddenly is annoyed by how stupid he looks. But even with those aside, let's not ignore the fact that he lies to Banner and Hulk to get them on his side. This character almost died in the first movie just to learn what is humility only now to be a d1pshit who lies to his comrades? That's not to mention the fact that he whines throughout the movie about losing his hammer but never once shows any concern for his four best friends, three of whom this hack director killed off unceremoniusly just to make room for sh1tty characters like drunktard slave-trader and an unfunny self-insert of the narcissistic director. Yeah, I'm sorry to break it to you, but the reason why we're where we are with Thor is because Ragnajoke was such a pile of trash.
The analogy for humour in the last two Thor movies is salt. A little bit of salt (Ragnarok) bings out flavour and makes the dish taste better. L&T is a bowl of salt served as a meal.
Ragnajoke was like an ocean of salt water (that smells like pee). The movie opens with Thor conversing with a skeleton out of boredom. It's the same exact nonsense. There's literally a scene where a self-insert of the director laughs at Asgard exploding. Ragnajoke is just as terrible. It's an objective fact, and you can debate me on that if you want to. I have factual proof that everything good you MCU fanboys say about that movie is wrong.
I really stan Lady Sif and wanted to see what she had been up to since the events of Dark World. Needless to say, I was not happy with what they did with her.
Yeah she just got her arm chopped off and was used for a joke. I also want to know what she was up to since the dark world. They should make a Sif spin off movie or TV show. I'd watch it if they did that.
Love and Thunder I feel is actually a perfect analogy for Phases 4 and 5 thus far. There are interesting, unique ideas and stories to be told, but the way they are told are often rushed, focus on the wrong ideas, or just aren't the right way to tell that story. It doesn't help that so much content is being pumped out that it just kind of feels like they're throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks, not giving it enough time to focus in on the ideas that work and either refine or remove those that didn't. Not to say everything post-Endgame is bad. Things like No Way Home, Loki, Guardians 3, and Shang-Chi I really enjoyed and are some of my favorite MCU films, and most other projects I've seen have had elements I do think could work for the future... Except maybe She-Hulk... But still, I hope Phase 5 brings some of the necessary changes for the rest of the saga. Deadpool 3 should hopefully be a good time, and I'm curious how New World Order, Thunderbolts, and DD Born Again will play out.
I didn't see Mjolnir acting like a jilted lover; I saw Thor projecting a lot onto it, though. Stormbreaker, on the otherhand, was partly made of a teenage Groot -- and I definitely see a bit of that coming through.
THAT would have been a perfectly fine explanation for why Stormbreaker is sentient. Literally one line stating this in the movie would have made me perfectly okay with this decision.

regarding Jane's storyline (aside from what others have mentioned), the other reason it's so clunky in the movie is because they ignored the most important reason why she becomes the Mighty Thor in the first place: Not to cure herself of cancer, or because it's magically calling to her, but because Thor is gone/unable to weild it anymore. Jane seeks out Mjolnir because "there must always be a Thor". She takes on that responsibility because Midgard still needs a protector with that power, and no one else was stepping up to do it. And then when she lets go of Mjolnir, she realizes that picking it up removes all her chemo treatments and therefore makes her cancer worse each time... But she does it anyway because it's a job that needs to be done. Just sticking to those main points and adapting it to the situation of the MCU would have made so much more sense, but they decided to only look at the surface level stuff and turn almost everything into a silly joke instead. Wasted potential, and the source material was sitting there, already written out for them to use...

If you're interested here's how the comics handle the characters and the story L&T took inspiration from. - Gorr's plan to kill all the gods invloved forcing the god of bombs to make a bomb that would kill every god in the universe. Replace the center of the universe granting a wish with the way it was in the comic and the story would be simplified and Gorr wouldn't be seen as an idiot. You could also get some laughs out if it as it would be ironic for the god of bombs to make the bomb that would kill every god. - As for Jane here's how she became The Mighty Thor in the comic. It during a time where Thor was stripped of his title after losing his way and could no longer use Mjolnir. So Jane was chosen to be the next Thor. Jane hid her identity as the new Thor because she was afraid of how she would be perceived by people. Thor initially tried to get Mjolnir back and tried to figure out the identity of the new Thor. But soon accepted Jane as the New Thor after seeing how great she is and that's where his arc of self discovery starts to begin in the comic. I'm not a person who usually says that the MCU and DC should follow exactly like the comics. I believe in creative freedom and borrowing elements from the comics to tell their own story. However this one of the few times where I say follow the comics as it would've helped fix a lot of issues people had

I think you overlooked the fact that the movie is told from the viewpoint of korg. Once you realize that, the movie makes a lot more sense in its silliness.
No. The fact that Korg is the one having the viewpoint is one of the reasons why this movie sucked. He annoyingly narrates the film like everything that happened in Thor’s life is a comedy when a lot of times it wasn’t.

Yeah we have the same conclusion, wasted potential, awful jokes although i found myself really enjoying the actual dramatic bits of the film, I liked it more than the average person for that.
I was scared coming into this movie that Taika Waititi was going to go too far with his humor, and unfortunately it seems that that was exactly what happened
I don't love this movie, but i'd be lying if I said I came out of the theater thinking it was bad. Disappointing, sure, but my overall experience was a good one. I thought the third act was much better than most make it out to be. However, the movie is way too silly, even my dad pointed it out.
The only upside to this movie I genuinely feel like giving is that every single outfit Thor wears is stunning to me, even the over-the-top overcompensating one with the big helmet when he sees Mighty Thor for the first time
The reason Thor could even use the Thunderbolt and to have its powers shared to other people was in a deleted scene. Like imagine a pretty important plot point and it was cut. I also think the scene ties better to the title "Love & Thunder".
This is one of those movies with a pretty good story, ruined in execution. If this film had a lot less jokes, keep the deleted gorr kills and keep those fur caped suit this film would be pretty great, also use real helmets, not cgi ones, and use less cgi in general. Just take a camera to a real location and start shooting. The best looking marvel movie of the recent mcu is eternals because they shot on location. Sure they can shoot in space or on other planets but there are plenty of interesting places they could use
I usually love your content but to accuse a film of being lazy and then not even bother to do the research to see whether storylines and certain elements of the film are based on the comics is just as lazy, if not worse. You can't have a go at a film based on comics that may have used said comics as inspiration for the film.
As someone who unapologetically enjoys "Thor: Love and Thunder" I quite like a lot of your ideas. I always saw Thor's overall humorous behavior to be a result of all the people he has lost and how he copes with loss, hence why his character has changed so dramatically since the first "Thor" film. He uses this over-the-top goofiness to shield his inner demons and closes himself off from everyone (even when he's with the Guardians). It's through rebuilding his relationship with Jane, her ultimate sacrifice, and learning to let Love (both the concept and Gorr's daughter) into his life that he grows as a person and learns to open up again. When you get down to it, Thor may just be one of the most tragic characters in the MCU.
I think a number of MCU movies suffered of having plot points and narrative arcs forced on them just for the sake of connecting with popular comics saga.
Love your ideas. Especially using Thanos snap as plot point and blame Thor. Been saying this and thinking the MCU is missing opportunities to use the snap in creative ways.
I get what your saying about Gore’s motivation being the death of his daughter, a singular event; but she dies slowly, so it’s a drawn-out death. Still a single reason, but it’s over a long period of time, so slightly more complex and motivating.
Your points about not liking things even if they're from the comics I completely agree with. Just because something happens in a comic doesn't mean that it was good writing in the first place. Over the 80 or so years of Marvel content, plenty of it isn't that good.
I will say for people who have a higher standard for movies. They don’t like this or most MCU movies, but I went to Thor Love and Thunder with what I would consider. Offline people. Older, very young kids. And mostly uninterested in internet or high brow movies. Those kind of people who went with me. Had zero complaints with the movie. And still watch most marvel things to this day. I think it’s just so mainstream and simple. That people who turn off their brains and just watch the silly and flashy action. Will still love these movies, the MCU is only just letting down the hardcore, and more picky watchers like myself and others.
What we really needed to see as a movie was all of the things that happened off-screen. Gorr, on his grief-fueled rampage through the heavens, learns of a way to reset events from the heart of the universe. Unfortunately, the Titans have sealed it away from the petty gods and it is in a realm of its own now. Gorr travels to Asgard to use the Bifrost to reach the sealed realm, only to find that Asgard has been completely destroyed by yet another atrocity by the gods. This further drives him to seek out Olympus and put an end to the self-important beings ruining the cosmos. Somewhere along his travels Gorr discovers that Thor wields a new weapon, which has the power of the Bifrost contained within. This sets him on an all-or-nothing course to destroy Thor and take Stombreaker. Now insert the existing act 3 of the movie and let it play out. We really needed to see and understand why Gorr does what he does as a traumatized parent, and why Stormbreaker matters to his plans, since honestly, the weapon didn't even exist when that portal was made so that whole aspect of the movie was nonsensical.
If you don't mind, I'm sharing my own re-write for the movie. And it's also re-titled as 'Love & Death'. It's just a plot summary, so more of the nuances are not included. It's to be narrated by a woman. It begins with a montage of Thor working out and going on adventures with the Guardians. After a brawl with other galactic bounty hunters, which started after they question Thor's identity, he recalls of his old days and plan to move on again, not most suited with the Guardians' lifestyle. He and the Guardians tend to another SOS call, revealed be Lady Sif, fighting the Shadow Beasts. In the battle, Thor finds Jane, wielding the Mjolnir. Sif is injured so Jane, Thor, and the Guardian head to New Asgard on Earth to have her treated. In there, Sif reveals that the Shadows were summoned by "the god butcher". At the same time, Thor reconnects with Jane, who says that the worthiness came to her "like a calling". Realizing that Jane is now known as him, Thor believes that the God Butcher would come after her; he seeks him out by going to places where others gods bave been slain. Korg as company. In New Asgard, Quill calls Jane and Valkyrie unfair to have not informed Thor of Jane's development. Under Darcy's encouragement, Jane reveals to the Guardians that she's dying of cancer; she has lost her hair and appears frail whenever she drops the hammer. A flashback reveals what she has been up to as Mighty Thor up until that point. She have been reluctant to tell Thor, as she didn't know how to break it down for him, especially since their relationship have ended. The group eventually learns of Thor's absence and track him down. Thor and Korg find themselves in a trap by the God Butcher; though he himself is nowhere to be seen, he raised the slain gods as his undead army to confront Thor and Korg. Jane, Valkyrie, and the Guardians came in nick of time. At this point, the narration begins to breakaway from what's actually happening in the story. Understanding that they do not have the advantage, they set out to the Omnipotent City to seek help from King of the Gods, Zeus. On the way there, Quill apologizes for his earlier behavior to Jane earlier and encourages her to open up her condition to Thor. Zeus seems jovial towards the group at first, but gradually turns against them, as he holds low opinion on Asgardians. He and Thor clash, but only briefly, before the group is held captive in the city prison. Zeus and his fellow gods hold a festivity, just vainly celebrating their godhood. They're eventually interrupted by someone Zeus assumes to be one of themselves. He reveals himself as Gorr, the so called God Butcher. He wields a sword Zeus recognize as the Necrosword. He calmly taunts Zeus, enraging the latter. Gorr, after killing several gods, unleashes his Shadow Beasts, including the resurrected slain gods, onto the living gods while he goes on to fight Zeus alone. In the chaos, Thor, Jane, and the Guardians escape. Thor rescues Zeus, though the act goes unseen by Gorr. Zeus maintains his disdain for Thor, ungrateful. In return, Thor kicks him away and steals his Thunderbolt. He and Jane form a duo, combating Gorr and his minions. An overwhelmed Gorr calls for a truce and presents an ultimatum: whoever it was who saved Zeus, they must to come to his place, the Shadow Domain, where they duel until the death. If not, he unleash his Shadow Kinds upon the universe. The heroes regroup back in New Asgard, planning the battle with Gorr. Jane insists on going, despite Thor's reluctance. She then reveals to him that she is dying of cancer, Mantis confirms it, saying the next time she reverts to her human form, it'll be her last. Jane have settled with her fate and wishes her final moments to be with him, in the battle. Thor becomes upset and leaves the room to process it. He is suddenly pulled into another realm. He lands in a pond and standing tall before him is Yggdrasil itself and the Three Sisters of Fate (I decided to blend the Moirai and the Norns together); the oldest sister is revealed to be the narrator. The Sisters are about three times Thor's size. She tells Thor that they have found him quite pesky, having constantly move away from the fate they've written for him since Thanos' defeat. But Thor's rescue of Zeus is one act that irked them most; Zeus, being King of the Gods, is the only one of the gods to hold sway over the Three Sisters. He used to be wiser but grew vain, and they grew to despise him in return. Zeus' latest request for them is to make the Necrosword itself, to be used to murder a god over a love affair with a goddess. The Fates arranged this to be his hubris and thus, complied to his demand. Zeus killed the god but was so self absorbed that he left the sword in the corpse of the god, and it would later be found by Gorr --- The Fates intended Zeus to be killed by Gorr. Thor calls out out their hypocrisy, stating that their desire for Zeus' death instead cause more deaths of other gods and now risk the universe into total chaos. He states that he'll kill Gorr and retrieve the sword to them. The Fates are willing to accept; in fact, they offer to grant a wish from him should he be successful. However, should Gorr kill him, his wish would be granted instead. At this point, there is no more narration. Thor returns to his group, allowing Jane into the fight, saying that he could save her. They set course to the Shadow Domain, which unlike the movie, is a shattered planet and in pieces, rather than a whole round micro planet. Nearly all is absolutely black and white, with the exception of the lightnings from the axe and the hammer, which are blue; the bolt, which is yellow; and the Guardians' blasters' beams, which are green and pink. Quill's goggles also remain in red. In some walls, the group see shadow plays based of Gorr's memories with his daughter. When they find him, the Guardians try to reach him through his plights and loss. Gorr rebukes them, and calls them silly for risking their mortal lives for that Thor's, an immortal. He summons his Shadow Creatures to battle all of them; he himself sets focus on Thor and Jane, though he doesn't know who the real Thor is. In the fight, Jane manages to wound Gorr, but in turn, he manages to fatally stab Jane, and he senses that she is a mortal all along. Thor rushes to her and Gorr stands still in bewilderment, practically giving the two a moment. In Thor's arms, Jane states that at a point, she knew dying to the disease is certain and have accepted it, she just had trouble saying goodbye to him. With her wish fulfilled, she dies. The Mjolnir comes apart again and unable to be used. Thor then returns to another fight with Gorr. The latter's wounds grow fatal; however, Thor "forfeits", giving Gorr a chance to kill him. Gorr swings the sword but stops before it strikes Thor. He deems Thor "not like the other gods" he's killed. Time then stops, freezing the battle with the Guardians and the Beasts. The oldest of the Fate appears, in full color, and she comes to both men. She scolds Thor for seemingly renegading their agreement; Thor must be the victor as Gorr is at the point of certain death. However, Thor insists that Gorr could've killed him still at that moment. The Older Fate yields and offers to grant a wish to Gorr; he chooses his daughter. She appears and reaches him. Gorr makes Thor vow to care for her before dying. The Older Fate then says that she and her sisters will not interfere too closely within the realms of mortals ever again before vanishing, taking the sword with her. Thor and the girl come out to greet the Guardians and Asgardians, now in color. In New Asgard, Thor part ways from the Guardians to care for the girl. Quill congratulates Thor for finding his peace. Thor, in turn, wishes Quill would find his when he finds Gamora again. Later, Thor puts the girl to bed, offering to tell a bedtime story. He suggests the story of "the Invincible Iron Man" or Captain America, but the girl chooses the story of the Mighty Thor. So he tells her the story, starting with how he met Jane in New Mexico. The POV pans out the bedroom through the window into the starry night sky. The credit rolls with the actors' name linked to their roles based on figures of the constellation. Like a star chart. The post-credit scene is Oldest Fate narrating directly to the audience; saying while that concluded the chapters of Thor's love and Thor's death, it is not the end of his story, for he shall return.
I decided to just focus on themes of fate, narrativity itself, and godhood is sort of framed by mortality versus immortality. I tried to explore the accountability of godhood myself, but it ended up overstuffing the text and I prefer the other themes. Really, I think that bit should've been explored in the movies before this one.
I based my Gorr on John Doe from 'Se7en' - Gorr is basically a serial god-killer anyway - So, we see what he committed, his victims, and his minions, through the first half of the movie, but he only appears in the flesh in the second half. Instead of wanting to make a wish, Gorr is fuelled by nihilism. He just goes around, aimlessly killing gods. He knows he will be defeated and slain eventually, but he wants to take down as many gods as he could. At the least, he thinks, that in death he will be reunited with his daughter. Thanos doesn't have anything to do with him, but I do have a piece of dialogue of Gorr, to provoke Thor, and calling out on his failure to stop Thanos: Gorr: _The winds carried the words... that the Mighty Thor let the Mad Titan to wipe half the universe. Even when the god had him at mercy. So much for faith._ Thor: _So much for mercy. To the death!_ Gorr: _Aye, to the death._
Since now Taika Watititi's Star Wars will maybe coming but people don't really trust him because of Thor L&T. I certainly don't hate this not because its a funny movie although I did laugh fairly often while watching Thor L&T, but that felt distracting and predictable. Funny enough, Chris Hemsworth has spoken about this in a talks about a Thor 5 saying that the movie needs to be unpredictable if it does happen and he wont continue until the people get bored out of their minds whenever they see him as Thor. Good thing he's doing great in the Extraction movies. I maybe the only person who actually enjoyed the movie. I guess one of the only things I liked to point out is that they play the "Sweet Child O Mine" in the background, which I love that song.
I feel like the real problem with this movie was basically asking Taika Watiti to do the same thing twice. It seems like his directive was "Make Thor: Ragnarok again" and not much else.
I hated Valkyrie in Ragnarok, and I still do. Same with Korg, I wish both of them had died along with Jane, then Thor could find some reliable friends.
So, here's the thing that I've never understood... you reference 'the prologue' when talking about how Thor's pain isn't because of all of the losses... but you don't seem to get what the prologue *and* epilogue represent. The movie is *Korg* telling a story. And Korg's an idiot. That doesn't mean you have to like the movie, obviously, but everything else has to be seen in the framing of 'you're listening to an idiot's version of events.'
I think it was an okay film to be honest. I gave it a watch a little while back and it did look good in some aspects. I just didn't enjoy it that much in general and we probably won't be getting any sort of continuation.
After the death of iron man and the retirement of captain America, they should have set up thor as the next in line to lead but they had to make him into a clown and shirk his responsibilities to asgard again!
One thing that I’ve noticed abt the movie is something that isn’t really talked abt. But you kinda mentioned in the end. The connectivity to the MCU. Now. Im not saying that every single movie needs to be an Infinity War level Event Film. But I’d like SOME acknowledgement. Iron Man 3 is a perfect example. You can watch it on its own & still enjoy it. But it’s connected to Shang-Chi, Avengers, & Civil War. Just by a simple MENTION of the previous project makes it feel connected. & no. Not like they did in she-hulk. Some random girl saying “oh cool. There’s a lady Thor” in the background isn’t what I mean. Marvel is more focused on keeping things from getting leaked that not even the directors or writers can know about it. It’s especially seen in Moon Knight. The people who worked on that legit said “yea. Kevin didn’t let us know anything about anything. So we don’t know when specifically the season takes place In the timeline”. But with a simple mention. You could’ve connected Love & Thunder to Moon Knight. The gods in moon Knight could’ve said something so simple like “yo. We gotta be on the lookout. There’s a Mf killing us out there” Same thing with Hawkeye & NWH, they came out at the same time. & there is a clear connectivity that wasn’t mentioned. Which ruined my emersion. Hawkeye & Kate are having a big fight at Rockefeller center. & In NWH. Spider-Man swings on the tree that’s in Rockefeller center. On the same night. (I think they were both on the 24th). I don’t need Peter swinging down & fighting kingpin. But fuck. Have him either swing literally ANYWHERE else. Or have hawkeye at least mention it if you wanna be lazy wit it “wait. Was that Spider-Man?” SOMETHING. I can go on & on about how Easy it is to connect to eachother. Like Dr. Strange & NWH. It’s so painfully obvious that MoM takes place BEFORE NWH. In NWH, Strange talks abt the Multiverse like he has some experience with it. But in MoM. It feels like he doesn’t know what tf a Multiverse even is. Yes there’s that 1 scene In the cafe where Strange tells America “I’ve dealt with this wit Spider-Man a while ago” but that was a reshoot shoehorned into the movie to “connect” the 2. Phase 4, for some reason, HAS to come out in chronological order. Which immediately gets fucked up if a movie gets delayed (which happened). For fucks sake the Phase before was all over the place. & we still enjoyed it. But why can’t we get that same thing now? They cared about telling a good story without worrying abt chronologically. AND IT STILL MADE SENCE CHRONOLOGICALLY. It was obvious that Captain marvel was before iron man. Antman & the wasp before Infinity War, Black Panther right after civil War. Etc etc. It feels like they’ve just gotten lazy “yea. We made Infinity War & Endgame. People will watch whatever we make. So idgaf how good the project is. Just go make it. As quick as possible.” Hence us getting like 20 projects in under 2 years.
I thought that gorr would wish to save Jane’s life at the end of the movie and let himself die so he could be with his daughter. I thought it was the stupidest ending that resolved nothing and showed no character development.
I AM SO FUCKING FURIOUS THIS FILM HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL AND THEN BAM ITS A CHAOTIC, BAD PACING, CLICHES, ABRUPT TONAL SHIFTS, etc. I genuinely was so hyped and they droped the ball. Also the best character was christian bale and the movie did him dirty man 😭
Yeah, but I still couldn't finish watching the Movie. I mean It was cool, seeing Russel Crow play Zeus, but the movie needed something more than gimmicks and Celebrity Cameos. (I am glad I missed the whole, Kids come to the rescue, thing at the end. (Barf))

Thor Love and Thunder could’ve been so much better. I guess I would rather watch it than Ant-Man Quantum Mania. However that’s not of a high/low bar to reach. Plus I could see Gor the God Killer to be the MCU’s version of Kratos. Sadly we barely got any of that.
The film is a downgrade from the source comic, which was epic. Even if they had to modify the story to fit the MCU and the already-established film lore, the decisions were baffling. But even within the constraints of the story, the Thor that had lost every single thing he had learned, entire character arc reset to zero. The Eternity was an ok substitute for the God Bomb from the comics, but for Gorr to only be shown killing one pantheon, his, and none else? Only offscreen with Sif being amputated. Just wasted. And for silly jokes. One thing: Taka seems to depict that Gorr's pantheon were celebrating killing the last necro sword's wielder. And distracted from the drought during the fight. The sword called Gorr. That's why it was lying around. In the comics Gorr comes upon his God (I'm not sure) in a death match with the necro sword's wielder. His God, though victorious, is mortally wounded and asked for his help. Gorr takes the sword and kills the God and vows to kill all Gods. Was the film's version an improvement? No.
@@thegoldman25 One more thing. In the comics, Gorr already had his children and spouse back. I think the sword created them. Adn at the end, there was a big point of his resurrected child accusing him, and I paraphrase inaccurately, "What have you become, if not a god yourself?," in response to one more act of his villainy.
Upon the points i may disagree with i will just stick with one. When it comes to thors character arc in endgame we see him as this broken slob and ending the movie running away from all his problems i feel it makes more sense for him to be more childish in love and thunder
That movie has always gotten flack. One half of the fandom loved it, the other hated it. There were always idiots complaining about how it had too much humor. Honestly I don't see the Love & Thunder discourse any differently. People are way exaggerating how the humor "ruins" everything. It's pathetic.
Am I the only one who didn’t hate this movie? Sure, it has some issues, and maybe it’s because Multiverse of Madness was such a huge mess, but I still liked it. I though Christian Bale was great as Gor, I liked how Thor was a much more active protagonist compared to Strange in MoM, and I liked seeing the more mystical cosmic aspects of the MCU. Heck, I even liked Jane’s story in this movie! I will say that I think they could’ve stuck with the earlier version of Russell Crowe’s Zeus, and it was a bummer they cut the scenes with Gor killing all the gods in the MCU. Also, judging by the comments, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the MCU ISN’T bad. I admit not all of their recent projects have been flawless, but the stuff that’s been good (From what I’ve seen) has been REALLY good.

If I may, I think I have a solution to the necrosword. In the comics, it was a symbiote. When Gorr first found it, it was a little nub. What if the more gods he kills, the stronger the sword gets? By the time of L&T, he’s killed many gods allowing him to match Thor.

Director Taika Waititi, in what can only be described as a deliberate attempt to troll the audience, seemed to throw every absurd idea he could think of into a blender and hit puree._ _The result? A chaotic explosion of rainbow-colored nonsense where Thor's existential crises were overshadowed by screaming goats and a villain who seemed like he accidentally wandered in from a Tim Burton film. The film was so stuffed with slapstick humor and bizarre character choices that you half expected Thor to look directly at the camera and say, "Just kidding, guys!" This movie was so purposefully ridiculous that it made "Thor: The Dark World" look like a cinematic masterpiece by comparison._
I'd like to give my re-write as well. First change Mighty Thor is not in the movie. Also no kidnapping... But movie starts off virtually the same except we never see the daughter die. Instead she's just sick, and the God refuses to heal her. Thor gets news of Jane's cancer and rushes back to Earth. We get extended glimpses of Gorr asking Gods for the location of Omnipotent city. Thor reconnects with Jane. And essentially, we get this tragic irony of a God who is incapable of saving the one person he loves because the threat isn't physical. Is a god who can't even save his love worthy? So there's more focus on Gorr slaying gods and trying to find Omnipotent city and Thor's relationship with Jane. Gorr attacks Thor on Earth. Tell him he'll spare him if he tells him the location of Omnipotent city. Thor refuses. As Gorr is about to kill Thor, sick Jane shows up. Gorr is reminded of his daughter and flees. Thor gets the idea that he might be able to save her by taking her to Omnipotent city. Valkyrie wants Thor that the Gods will try to stop Thor from entering the city. They go on the same adventure. except we get introduced to Hercules earlier. He's trying to stop Thor from reaching the city, but fails. The scenes of them reaching Omnipotent city occur much the same, except Thor is begging the Gods to save Jane. When Zeus refuses, he questions Zeus and why they refuse to help the mortal including defeating Thanos. Gorr interrupts. He was able to follow Thor to Omnipotent city. He reveals he's not here to kill the Gods, but just wants to save his daughter. Zeus reveals himself as the real villain, and monologues about how unworthy mortals are/ beneath him. Gorr pleads. Zeus agrees to save her from her pain, and does so by shooting a lightning bolt through her chest. Its at this point, Gorr loses complete control of the Necrosword and starts rampaging through Omnipotent city. Thor and co fight off his creatures in order to evacuate Jane to safety. Gorr kills Zeus. After getting Jane to safety, Thor decides he must return to stop Gorr, and leaves. Thor battles Gorr on the ruins of Omnipotent city. Gorr easily wins, and tells Thor of all his failings, convincing Thor of his unworthiness. Thor loses his abilities and becomes a "mortal". Gorr takes storm breaker and makes a gate back to Earth of which he kicks Thor through. Back on Earth, Thor finds Jane dying and apologizes for all that's happened. Jane consoles Thor and tells him being worthy is about the ability to empathize with mortals and never stop trying to help/save them. Thor realizes that Jane is what makes Thor worthy to hold Mjlonir. He takes her to remnants of Mljnoir, and tell her to put her hands on the case. He states: Whosoever holds this hammer, if he.... or SHE by worthy, shall possess the power of Thor". Suddenly, the remnants fly into each other and reform Mjlonir. The hammer flies to Jane's hand and she's transformed into the Mighty Thor. End credit scenes: Hercules vowing revenge against Thor. And another final shot of Gorr stating his vow to kill all Gods. I really love the idea of the tragic irony. Thor this all-powerful gods being unable to save Jane. Also, I love the idea of essentially giving Gorr the same motivations as Thor. IMO it was a huge mistake to kill Gorr off after one movie... But the downside to this plot is it would certainly require a second movie to wrap up the loose ends of the first. BUT I think it would be an amazing inverse to this movie. The second one would be about a Mortal Thor trying to save his Godly girlfriend from Gorr/Hercules(?).
Lets just say it. Comics are Lazy there for any Movie based on Comic Books are lazy. All movies must be original. Thats actuly what Im hearing with this video. Its just my Oppinon.
All we need is serious directors, like the Russo Brothers, Benjamin Caron and Matt Reeves. Stop giving these wacky directors like Taika Waitit or people who don't know what they're doing like Chloé Zhao. Ultimately I blame Kevin Feige, he is the guy overseeing Marvel and he is letting this happen. The only reason heads like him aren't being blamed is because he doesn't really put himself in the spotlight Kathleen Kenedy. It is all weird and it needs to stop.

The best example of why Ragnarok worked and Love and Thunder didn't is the theatre scene. In Ragnarok the whole joke is that Loki, disguised as Odin, is the one who set it up. The framing of Loki as the hero of the story is funny, because we know it isn't true and is a product of Loki's vanity. Now look at the Love and Thunder. The theatre is just set up by the Asguardians, re-telling the story of Ragnarok.
I would argue that Jane's sacrifice would be to turn down a chance to go to live in Valhalla. That is what happens in the comics. She decides that she had more to give and risks her life to help defeat Malekith in War of the Realms. She becomes Mighty Thor and then becomes Valkyrie because Asgard needs a Valkyrie to re-open Valhalla which was closed after the destruction of the Valkyries. That would be an interesting arc for Jane after Love and Thunder. I do think that Portman and Hemsworth have chemistry. When they embark on their journey, Jane and Thor glance at each other and it is clear that they adore each other. As to the movie, I would have wanted more scenes of Jane and Valkyrie having discussions over whether Jane should tell Thor about her cancer.
I feel like by removing the heart of the film your version feels kinda empty. I'm all for exploring the god aspect further, but there has to be ana emotional core and theme beyond that ethical dilemma
The thing that disappoints me the most with this film is that when i watch taikas past work it's the ultimate whiplash. He CAN make great films but he's just going for the bare minimum here. Like dude.... you made Ragnarok and JoJo rabbit what happened?
Everyone keeps sucking the fart out of Christian Bale's Gorr in this movie, due to his performance, but I when I watched this trash movie, he was on screen for almost as long as Malekith from "Dark World" and didn't do much on screen to make me go: "Ohhhhh Sh*t!!" Everything and Everyone in this movie was trash, and I'm glad I watched a pirate copy on my firestick... Now, GotG3 and Across the Spiderverse, Those were good movies worthy of taking my ass back to the cinema.

Reminder, in Thor Ragnajoke he made Thor into a dimwitted cretin who lies to Hulk/Banner to get them on his side, he forgets about Warriors Three & Sif, who were his best friends and were ready to die for him in previous movies, and instead whines throughout the movie about losing his hammer. He's made Thor an unlikable, unloyal, dumb d1pshit since day one. But it appears it only caught on to you MCU fans only know. And now there are rumors Hacktiti is coming back for the fifth one. The MCU is literally repeating a mistake WB almost committed when they thought about continuing Batman franchise with Schumacher after the fourth one.
Thor love and thunder along with multiverse of madness I had the biggest expectations for, and both failed to meet them. However, for some strange reason(pun not intended) MOM worked better for me, and each time I rewatch it it gets better. But for Thor 4, its story was just generic, and didn't do what it needed to---see Gorr kill!!! And the "save the children" story was not needed, 1) because its a lame plot in my opinion, and 2) Guardians 3 did it 10x better!
The MCU is dead. They kinda did this to themselves by disconnecting or bad-connecting the Movies/Series they have been throwing out since endgame. Spider-Man: No Way Home and now Guardians 3 were the only good Movies (by far) and just because they worked on their own respectively the had a great foundation in the older Phases. Every other Movie/Series fails no connect and if they do it's done very poorly with extremely bad writing story and characterwise.
The heads at MCU have pissed on the notion that a few actors charisma was the initial hook and bait. Without RDJ in the 1st movie, would it have taken off? Maybe. Regardless, with Gunn packing his stories up and most of the Guardians we like being done, the MCU is trying to sell us on the teenage girl lineup. There's 4 to 6 teenage girls in line for some upcoming Avengers movie probably with Captain Marvel running the show. Who has any personality that's different? Are they all sassy kung fu geniuses? Ugh.
People have been saying the MCU is dead way back when Eternals came out. Save for a few things, every movie and show is the death of the MCU. Like you say with Star Wars, it supposedly died with The Rise of Skywalker yet the Mandolorian and Obi Wan did great and I assume Ahsoka will do well too.
Remember that the Gorr introduction is apparently thousands of years before the modern era, so the snap didn't affect Gorr at all. "Long ago, Gorr was an alien living on a desolate planet plagued by famine, natural disaster, and all sorts of horrors that made life inhospitable. Despite this, the people of the planet devoutly prayed to gods who never acknowledged-let alone helped-them. Gorr eventually lost faith in the gods entirely after the agonizing deaths of his family, but one day a miracle happens: Two dueling gods fell from the sky and landed, severely injured, in a crater in front of him. When one of these gods had the audacity to ask Gorr for help, he snapped. Gorr grabbed the other god’s sword and cut down the god. It would be the first of many he would butcher." That actually would have been a better introduction than what we got.
Eternity is in the comics, but isn’t some wishing well. That character is the kind of power that is maybe one tier below Thanos with the gauntlet if not a slight tier above. Usually the kind of character dr strange encounters. That was a total waste of a character. That dude has legendary power. This movie sucked and really shit on quality comic source material. Cheaply made. Insulted the legacy of Thor in so many ways.
Why do you get pissed off about people saying Star Wars is dead? There maybe some points that don’t make sense, but there are so many points they make that are valid. I wouldn’t say that Star Wars is truly dead, but I am most definitely not a fan at all of the sequel trilogy and consider it creatively bankrupt.
Thankfully they retooled the infinity saga because originally Thanos began a conquest for the hand of mistress Death. He wonders how to get her attention so decides on annihilating half the life in the multiverse. One of the major Flaws of Marvel as a company is their flippant disregard of their characters. There are too many storylines with single characters killing all life in the multiverse, or going on massive crusades to have the outcome be a fizzle instead of a satisfying conclusion. These stories were never meant for such exposure but the proven method to sell and maintain book sales at least for months at a time until the worst habit being reconning all of the events to then return without consequence to point A. There is limited promise of success and growth with these practices and that's why the entire franchise will fail. By the way thank you for making this rewrite, well worth the time.
The Snap/Blip is such a good story option I wish the MCU would actually lean on, like how Tramatizing it must’ve been for people to just lose people like that…

21:58 - want to point this out because this is different in the comics. Gorr's life was miserable. His mother putted in him belief that gods will always protect them but then she died after attack of animals. Then his misery continued. He lived for a very long time trying to believe in gods but then his child died. Then his tribe beated him and left him because he stopped beliving in their god. Then for some time he tried to survive on his own and almost died, like his child, from starvation. But then two gods fell from the sky after battle and lied on the ground. Gorr approched and one of them asked for help. And Gorr after so many losses and suffering screamed at him, tried to kill him, and then Hecrosword (which also a symbiote and a weapon of the second god) helps him with it, and after that Gorr started his quest.
My biggest issue with the mcu is since endgame, phase 4 all felt like a reaction to endgame. They never had any movies set up really after the finale bc everyone was left in the dark to keep spoilers at a minimum. It’s so obvious when the projects all feel rushed. Besides the one they seemed to have somewhat planned out which was no way home

Rather the conditions of the pandemic made filming very hard and affected the process a lot. That is the only reason why some post 2019 movies are rougher.
I like the Gorr and Thor changes, and agree especially on Jane and the others. I know I wasn’t a fan of much of the humor, but I also wasn’t as much of a fan of a fair chunk of Ragnarok’s either. Except “Get Help”. “Get help”, Thor’s recounting of the Loki snake story, and the interactions with Doctor Strange were fantastic.
I can see what you mean about the idea that fans are fans of the wider, connected universe. I’ve seen that complaint a chunk. Personally, I don’t mind some of the standalone stories. I enjoyed Shang-chi, a fair chunk of Eternals (haven’t seen Wakanda forever, dr Strange…Don’t know if we will that one, or ant-man yet) and most of the shows (Loki was the lowest for me just because I don’t care as much for him or time travel plots, though there can be good stories with it). I wonder sometimes if Some of it is due to the other reaction from people, the idea that following other movies was needed to understand a different one. Which I get. It’s honestly one of the things that made me fall off watching the CW DC shows when I only cared about Arrow and Flash. Idk if that’s a big factor, but it’s certainly one I ponder as to the current state.
I enjoy the standalone stories too, but idk if its for "the best"

Eternity is in the comics. Eternity is a sentient being who has dialogues with other character. I always waited in anticipation for other cosmic beings to get involved in the MCU. However, in this movie, Eternity has been reduced to nothing more than a macguffin. Shameful direction! They wasted a big character on something that could have been literally anything else. It could have been a donut or some shit.

@@thegoldman25 The word TITULAR is the one on the top of my head. It's used at the start of Chapter 2 about 7 minutes in. You used it to describe Thor but it doesn't fit. If you would have said TITULAR GOD. Maybe but it's still a bit out of place

Edit: Stellan Skaarsgärd made a more memorable character with ~15 minutes of screen time in Dune than he did in 3 or 4 of these movies.

Thor in rangnarock was playful but he also used to get serious according to the situation like how while seeing the play at Asgaurd you can see his face and tell he thinks of it as dumb thing while the Thor from Love and thunder will enjoy such a thing. Also he went through so much in infinity war and endgame. And you can see how serious he was in infinity war he still cracked some jokes but most of the time he was invested and cared about defeating Thanos and while in endgame he became drunk and acted like fool he still had serious and emotional moments which elevated his character to be more emotional but in Love and Thunder he took everything as joke and he was dumb which is not character accurate, he can take big situation lightly cause he knows his power and not because he is dumb guy. They just forget somehow that Thor is thousands of year old God and while he can have fun he also is very intelligent guy with a lot of experience.

Cherry-picking scenes. You fail to mention that the movie opens with a scene of Thor conversing with a skeleton while trapped in some alien planet. This same character a movie ago threatened Stark for trying to make light out of a dark situation after their first fight with Ultron. What happened in between movies, did he receive the brain damage and don't know about it? Might explain a few things. And he keeps being stupid, unlikable, and character assassinated throughout the whole piece of sh1t movie. Yes, you mention that sh1tty scene - which, by the way, is garbage just by the fact how it resolves that one good thing Thor The Dull World left us with (Loki sitting on the throne) - but him acting all serious suddenly is exactly why Waititi's so-called take on Thor is such a gobbledygook of nonsense, because he's a walking contradiction. That same nonsense continues in Thor Dumb & Dumber when you watch him act like a total buffoon who likes to show off, but then when he meets ''Zeus'', who acts exactly like he did an hour earlier, he suddenly is annoyed by how stupid he looks. But even with those aside, let's not ignore the fact that he lies to Banner and Hulk to get them on his side. This character almost died in the first movie just to learn what is humility only now to be a d1pshit who lies to his comrades? That's not to mention the fact that he whines throughout the movie about losing his hammer but never once shows any concern for his four best friends, three of whom this hack director killed off unceremoniusly just to make room for sh1tty characters like drunktard slave-trader and an unfunny self-insert of the narcissistic director. Yeah, I'm sorry to break it to you, but the reason why we're where we are with Thor is because Ragnajoke was such a pile of trash.

The analogy for humour in the last two Thor movies is salt. A little bit of salt (Ragnarok) bings out flavour and makes the dish taste better. L&T is a bowl of salt served as a meal.

Ragnajoke was like an ocean of salt water (that smells like pee). The movie opens with Thor conversing with a skeleton out of boredom. It's the same exact nonsense. There's literally a scene where a self-insert of the director laughs at Asgard exploding. Ragnajoke is just as terrible. It's an objective fact, and you can debate me on that if you want to. I have factual proof that everything good you MCU fanboys say about that movie is wrong.

I really stan Lady Sif and wanted to see what she had been up to since the events of Dark World. Needless to say, I was not happy with what they did with her.

Love and Thunder I feel is actually a perfect analogy for Phases 4 and 5 thus far. There are interesting, unique ideas and stories to be told, but the way they are told are often rushed, focus on the wrong ideas, or just aren't the right way to tell that story. It doesn't help that so much content is being pumped out that it just kind of feels like they're throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks, not giving it enough time to focus in on the ideas that work and either refine or remove those that didn't.
Not to say everything post-Endgame is bad. Things like No Way Home, Loki, Guardians 3, and Shang-Chi I really enjoyed and are some of my favorite MCU films, and most other projects I've seen have had elements I do think could work for the future... Except maybe She-Hulk...
But still, I hope Phase 5 brings some of the necessary changes for the rest of the saga. Deadpool 3 should hopefully be a good time, and I'm curious how New World Order, Thunderbolts, and DD Born Again will play out.

I didn't see Mjolnir acting like a jilted lover; I saw Thor projecting a lot onto it, though. Stormbreaker, on the otherhand, was partly made of a teenage Groot -- and I definitely see a bit of that coming through.
THAT would have been a perfectly fine explanation for why Stormbreaker is sentient. Literally one line stating this in the movie would have made me perfectly okay with this decision.

regarding Jane's storyline (aside from what others have mentioned), the other reason it's so clunky in the movie is because they ignored the most important reason why she becomes the Mighty Thor in the first place: Not to cure herself of cancer, or because it's magically calling to her, but because Thor is gone/unable to weild it anymore. Jane seeks out Mjolnir because "there must always be a Thor". She takes on that responsibility because Midgard still needs a protector with that power, and no one else was stepping up to do it. And then when she lets go of Mjolnir, she realizes that picking it up removes all her chemo treatments and therefore makes her cancer worse each time... But she does it anyway because it's a job that needs to be done.
Just sticking to those main points and adapting it to the situation of the MCU would have made so much more sense, but they decided to only look at the surface level stuff and turn almost everything into a silly joke instead. Wasted potential, and the source material was sitting there, already written out for them to use...
When I seen Jane batting cancer it takes me back to childhood of seeing my mom wasting away from it so this movie is very special to me
I'd honestly rather watch Love and Thunder before I ever watch Eternals, Black Widow and Antman Quantumania ever again cause at least I wasn't bored.
Sometimes people on RUclips have better writing ideals than the corporate offices of Hollywood do.That just shows that theirs a big huge gap between every single person and generation.
If you're interested here's how the comics handle the characters and the story L&T took inspiration from.
- Gorr's plan to kill all the gods invloved forcing the god of bombs to make a bomb that would kill every god in the universe. Replace the center of the universe granting a wish with the way it was in the comic and the story would be simplified and Gorr wouldn't be seen as an idiot. You could also get some laughs out if it as it would be ironic for the god of bombs to make the bomb that would kill every god.
- As for Jane here's how she became The Mighty Thor in the comic. It during a time where Thor was stripped of his title after losing his way and could no longer use Mjolnir. So Jane was chosen to be the next Thor. Jane hid her identity as the new Thor because she was afraid of how she would be perceived by people. Thor initially tried to get Mjolnir back and tried to figure out the identity of the new Thor. But soon accepted Jane as the New Thor after seeing how great she is and that's where his arc of self discovery starts to begin in the comic.
I'm not a person who usually says that the MCU and DC should follow exactly like the comics. I believe in creative freedom and borrowing elements from the comics to tell their own story. However this one of the few times where I say follow the comics as it would've helped fix a lot of issues people had

No. The fact that Korg is the one having the viewpoint is one of the reasons why this movie sucked. He annoyingly narrates the film like everything that happened in Thor’s life is a comedy when a lot of times it wasn’t.

Yeah we have the same conclusion, wasted potential, awful jokes although i found myself really enjoying the actual dramatic bits of the film, I liked it more than the average person for that.

I was scared coming into this movie that Taika Waititi was going to go too far with his humor, and unfortunately it seems that that was exactly what happened
I had no expectations, but I was let down
I don't love this movie, but i'd be lying if I said I came out of the theater thinking it was bad. Disappointing, sure, but my overall experience was a good one. I thought the third act was much better than most make it out to be. However, the movie is way too silly, even my dad pointed it out.

The reason Thor could even use the Thunderbolt and to have its powers shared to other people was in a deleted scene. Like imagine a pretty important plot point and it was cut. I also think the scene ties better to the title "Love & Thunder".
This is one of those movies with a pretty good story, ruined in execution. If this film had a lot less jokes, keep the deleted gorr kills and keep those fur caped suit this film would be pretty great, also use real helmets, not cgi ones, and use less cgi in general. Just take a camera to a real location and start shooting. The best looking marvel movie of the recent mcu is eternals because they shot on location. Sure they can shoot in space or on other planets but there are plenty of interesting places they could use

I usually love your content but to accuse a film of being lazy and then not even bother to do the research to see whether storylines and certain elements of the film are based on the comics is just as lazy, if not worse. You can't have a go at a film based on comics that may have used said comics as inspiration for the film.
As someone who unapologetically enjoys "Thor: Love and Thunder" I quite like a lot of your ideas. I always saw Thor's overall humorous behavior to be a result of all the people he has lost and how he copes with loss, hence why his character has changed so dramatically since the first "Thor" film. He uses this over-the-top goofiness to shield his inner demons and closes himself off from everyone (even when he's with the Guardians). It's through rebuilding his relationship with Jane, her ultimate sacrifice, and learning to let Love (both the concept and Gorr's daughter) into his life that he grows as a person and learns to open up again. When you get down to it, Thor may just be one of the most tragic characters in the MCU.

I get what your saying about Gore’s motivation being the death of his daughter, a singular event; but she dies slowly, so it’s a drawn-out death. Still a single reason, but it’s over a long period of time, so slightly more complex and motivating.

Your points about not liking things even if they're from the comics I completely agree with. Just because something happens in a comic doesn't mean that it was good writing in the first place. Over the 80 or so years of Marvel content, plenty of it isn't that good.
I will say for people who have a higher standard for movies. They don’t like this or most MCU movies, but I went to Thor Love and Thunder with what I would consider. Offline people. Older, very young kids. And mostly uninterested in internet or high brow movies. Those kind of people who went with me. Had zero complaints with the movie. And still watch most marvel things to this day. I think it’s just so mainstream and simple. That people who turn off their brains and just watch the silly and flashy action. Will still love these movies, the MCU is only just letting down the hardcore, and more picky watchers like myself and others.
What we really needed to see as a movie was all of the things that happened off-screen. Gorr, on his grief-fueled rampage through the heavens, learns of a way to reset events from the heart of the universe. Unfortunately, the Titans have sealed it away from the petty gods and it is in a realm of its own now.
Gorr travels to Asgard to use the Bifrost to reach the sealed realm, only to find that Asgard has been completely destroyed by yet another atrocity by the gods. This further drives him to seek out Olympus and put an end to the self-important beings ruining the cosmos.
Somewhere along his travels Gorr discovers that Thor wields a new weapon, which has the power of the Bifrost contained within. This sets him on an all-or-nothing course to destroy Thor and take Stombreaker.
Now insert the existing act 3 of the movie and let it play out. We really needed to see and understand why Gorr does what he does as a traumatized parent, and why Stormbreaker matters to his plans, since honestly, the weapon didn't even exist when that portal was made so that whole aspect of the movie was nonsensical.
Thor needs straight men to play off of. Or many straight guys with Thor and Iron Man (who, even if recast, won’t be funny this time).

If you don't mind, I'm sharing my own re-write for the movie. And it's also re-titled as 'Love & Death'.
It's just a plot summary, so more of the nuances are not included.
It's to be narrated by a woman.
It begins with a montage of Thor working out and going on adventures with the Guardians. After a brawl with other galactic bounty hunters, which started after they question Thor's identity, he recalls of his old days and plan to move on again, not most suited with the Guardians' lifestyle.
He and the Guardians tend to another SOS call, revealed be Lady Sif, fighting the Shadow Beasts. In the battle, Thor finds Jane, wielding the Mjolnir. Sif is injured so Jane, Thor, and the Guardian head to New Asgard on Earth to have her treated. In there, Sif reveals that the Shadows were summoned by "the god butcher".
At the same time, Thor reconnects with Jane, who says that the worthiness came to her "like a calling". Realizing that Jane is now known as him, Thor believes that the God Butcher would come after her; he seeks him out by going to places where others gods bave been slain. Korg as company.
In New Asgard, Quill calls Jane and Valkyrie unfair to have not informed Thor of Jane's development. Under Darcy's encouragement, Jane reveals to the Guardians that she's dying of cancer; she has lost her hair and appears frail whenever she drops the hammer. A flashback reveals what she has been up to as Mighty Thor up until that point. She have been reluctant to tell Thor, as she didn't know how to break it down for him, especially since their relationship have ended.
The group eventually learns of Thor's absence and track him down. Thor and Korg find themselves in a trap by the God Butcher; though he himself is nowhere to be seen, he raised the slain gods as his undead army to confront Thor and Korg. Jane, Valkyrie, and the Guardians came in nick of time.
At this point, the narration begins to breakaway from what's actually happening in the story.
Understanding that they do not have the advantage, they set out to the Omnipotent City to seek help from King of the Gods, Zeus. On the way there, Quill apologizes for his earlier behavior to Jane earlier and encourages her to open up her condition to Thor. Zeus seems jovial towards the group at first, but gradually turns against them, as he holds low opinion on Asgardians. He and Thor clash, but only briefly, before the group is held captive in the city prison.
Zeus and his fellow gods hold a festivity, just vainly celebrating their godhood. They're eventually interrupted by someone Zeus assumes to be one of themselves. He reveals himself as Gorr, the so called God Butcher. He wields a sword Zeus recognize as the Necrosword. He calmly taunts Zeus, enraging the latter. Gorr, after killing several gods, unleashes his Shadow Beasts, including the resurrected slain gods, onto the living gods while he goes on to fight Zeus alone. In the chaos, Thor, Jane, and the Guardians escape. Thor rescues Zeus, though the act goes unseen by Gorr. Zeus maintains his disdain for Thor, ungrateful. In return, Thor kicks him away and steals his Thunderbolt.
He and Jane form a duo, combating Gorr and his minions. An overwhelmed Gorr calls for a truce and presents an ultimatum: whoever it was who saved Zeus, they must to come to his place, the Shadow Domain, where they duel until the death. If not, he unleash his Shadow Kinds upon the universe.
The heroes regroup back in New Asgard, planning the battle with Gorr. Jane insists on going, despite Thor's reluctance. She then reveals to him that she is dying of cancer, Mantis confirms it, saying the next time she reverts to her human form, it'll be her last. Jane have settled with her fate and wishes her final moments to be with him, in the battle. Thor becomes upset and leaves the room to process it.
He is suddenly pulled into another realm. He lands in a pond and standing tall before him is Yggdrasil itself and the Three Sisters of Fate (I decided to blend the Moirai and the Norns together); the oldest sister is revealed to be the narrator. The Sisters are about three times Thor's size.
She tells Thor that they have found him quite pesky, having constantly move away from the fate they've written for him since Thanos' defeat. But Thor's rescue of Zeus is one act that irked them most; Zeus, being King of the Gods, is the only one of the gods to hold sway over the Three Sisters. He used to be wiser but grew vain, and they grew to despise him in return.
Zeus' latest request for them is to make the Necrosword itself, to be used to murder a god over a love affair with a goddess. The Fates arranged this to be his hubris and thus, complied to his demand. Zeus killed the god but was so self absorbed that he left the sword in the corpse of the god, and it would later be found by Gorr --- The Fates intended Zeus to be killed by Gorr.
Thor calls out out their hypocrisy, stating that their desire for Zeus' death instead cause more deaths of other gods and now risk the universe into total chaos. He states that he'll kill Gorr and retrieve the sword to them. The Fates are willing to accept; in fact, they offer to grant a wish from him should he be successful. However, should Gorr kill him, his wish would be granted instead.
At this point, there is no more narration.
Thor returns to his group, allowing Jane into the fight, saying that he could save her. They set course to the Shadow Domain, which unlike the movie, is a shattered planet and in pieces, rather than a whole round micro planet. Nearly all is absolutely black and white, with the exception of the lightnings from the axe and the hammer, which are blue; the bolt, which is yellow; and the Guardians' blasters' beams, which are green and pink. Quill's goggles also remain in red.
In some walls, the group see shadow plays based of Gorr's memories with his daughter. When they find him, the Guardians try to reach him through his plights and loss. Gorr rebukes them, and calls them silly for risking their mortal lives for that Thor's, an immortal. He summons his Shadow Creatures to battle all of them; he himself sets focus on Thor and Jane, though he doesn't know who the real Thor is.
In the fight, Jane manages to wound Gorr, but in turn, he manages to fatally stab Jane, and he senses that she is a mortal all along. Thor rushes to her and Gorr stands still in bewilderment, practically giving the two a moment. In Thor's arms, Jane states that at a point, she knew dying to the disease is certain and have accepted it, she just had trouble saying goodbye to him. With her wish fulfilled, she dies. The Mjolnir comes apart again and unable to be used.
Thor then returns to another fight with Gorr. The latter's wounds grow fatal; however, Thor "forfeits", giving Gorr a chance to kill him. Gorr swings the sword but stops before it strikes Thor. He deems Thor "not like the other gods" he's killed. Time then stops, freezing the battle with the Guardians and the Beasts. The oldest of the Fate appears, in full color, and she comes to both men.
She scolds Thor for seemingly renegading their agreement; Thor must be the victor as Gorr is at the point of certain death. However, Thor insists that Gorr could've killed him still at that moment. The Older Fate yields and offers to grant a wish to Gorr; he chooses his daughter. She appears and reaches him. Gorr makes Thor vow to care for her before dying. The Older Fate then says that she and her sisters will not interfere too closely within the realms of mortals ever again before vanishing, taking the sword with her. Thor and the girl come out to greet the Guardians and Asgardians, now in color.
In New Asgard, Thor part ways from the Guardians to care for the girl. Quill congratulates Thor for finding his peace. Thor, in turn, wishes Quill would find his when he finds Gamora again.
Later, Thor puts the girl to bed, offering to tell a bedtime story. He suggests the story of "the Invincible Iron Man" or Captain America, but the girl chooses the story of the Mighty Thor. So he tells her the story, starting with how he met Jane in New Mexico. The POV pans out the bedroom through the window into the starry night sky. The credit rolls with the actors' name linked to their roles based on figures of the constellation. Like a star chart.
The post-credit scene is Oldest Fate narrating directly to the audience; saying while that concluded the chapters of Thor's love and Thor's death, it is not the end of his story, for he shall return.
I decided to just focus on themes of fate, narrativity itself, and godhood is sort of framed by mortality versus immortality.
I tried to explore the accountability of godhood myself, but it ended up overstuffing the text and I prefer the other themes. Really, I think that bit should've been explored in the movies before this one.
I based my Gorr on John Doe from 'Se7en' - Gorr is basically a serial god-killer anyway - So, we see what he committed, his victims, and his minions, through the first half of the movie, but he only appears in the flesh in the second half.
Instead of wanting to make a wish, Gorr is fuelled by nihilism. He just goes around, aimlessly killing gods. He knows he will be defeated and slain eventually, but he wants to take down as many gods as he could. At the least, he thinks, that in death he will be reunited with his daughter.
Thanos doesn't have anything to do with him, but I do have a piece of dialogue of Gorr, to provoke Thor, and calling out on his failure to stop Thanos:
Gorr: _The winds carried the words... that the Mighty Thor let the Mad Titan to wipe half the universe. Even when the god had him at mercy. So much for faith._
Thor: _So much for mercy. To the death!_
Gorr: _Aye, to the death._

I'm so glad that someone has finally said that Jane was the best character of the movie. I enjoyed almost all her scenes
Since now Taika Watititi's Star Wars will maybe coming but people don't really trust him because of Thor L&T. I certainly don't hate this not because its a funny movie although I did laugh fairly often while watching Thor L&T, but that felt distracting and predictable. Funny enough, Chris Hemsworth has spoken about this in a talks about a Thor 5 saying that the movie needs to be unpredictable if it does happen and he wont continue until the people get bored out of their minds whenever they see him as Thor. Good thing he's doing great in the Extraction movies. I maybe the only person who actually enjoyed the movie. I guess one of the only things I liked to point out is that they play the "Sweet Child O Mine" in the background, which I love that song.

I feel like the real problem with this movie was basically asking Taika Watiti to do the same thing twice. It seems like his directive was "Make Thor: Ragnarok again" and not much else.

I hated Valkyrie in Ragnarok, and I still do. Same with Korg, I wish both of them had died along with Jane, then Thor could find some reliable friends.
So, here's the thing that I've never understood... you reference 'the prologue' when talking about how Thor's pain isn't because of all of the losses... but you don't seem to get what the prologue *and* epilogue represent.
The movie is *Korg* telling a story. And Korg's an idiot. That doesn't mean you have to like the movie, obviously, but everything else has to be seen in the framing of 'you're listening to an idiot's version of events.'
I think it was an okay film to be honest. I gave it a watch a little while back and it did look good in some aspects. I just didn't enjoy it that much in general and we probably won't be getting any sort of continuation.
After the death of iron man and the retirement of captain America, they should have set up thor as the next in line to lead but they had to make him into a clown and shirk his responsibilities to asgard again!
One thing that I’ve noticed abt the movie is something that isn’t really talked abt. But you kinda mentioned in the end. The connectivity to the MCU.
Now. Im not saying that every single movie needs to be an Infinity War level Event Film. But I’d like SOME acknowledgement.
Iron Man 3 is a perfect example. You can watch it on its own & still enjoy it. But it’s connected to Shang-Chi, Avengers, & Civil War. Just by a simple MENTION of the previous project makes it feel connected.
& no. Not like they did in she-hulk. Some random girl saying “oh cool. There’s a lady Thor” in the background isn’t what I mean.
Marvel is more focused on keeping things from getting leaked that not even the directors or writers can know about it.
It’s especially seen in Moon Knight. The people who worked on that legit said “yea. Kevin didn’t let us know anything about anything. So we don’t know when specifically the season takes place In the timeline”.
But with a simple mention. You could’ve connected Love & Thunder to Moon Knight. The gods in moon Knight could’ve said something so simple like “yo. We gotta be on the lookout. There’s a Mf killing us out there”
Same thing with Hawkeye & NWH, they came out at the same time. & there is a clear connectivity that wasn’t mentioned. Which ruined my emersion. Hawkeye & Kate are having a big fight at Rockefeller center. & In NWH. Spider-Man swings on the tree that’s in Rockefeller center. On the same night. (I think they were both on the 24th).
I don’t need Peter swinging down & fighting kingpin. But fuck. Have him either swing literally ANYWHERE else. Or have hawkeye at least mention it if you wanna be lazy wit it “wait. Was that Spider-Man?” SOMETHING.
I can go on & on about how Easy it is to connect to eachother. Like Dr. Strange & NWH. It’s so painfully obvious that MoM takes place BEFORE NWH.
In NWH, Strange talks abt the Multiverse like he has some experience with it. But in MoM. It feels like he doesn’t know what tf a Multiverse even is. Yes there’s that 1 scene In the cafe where Strange tells America “I’ve dealt with this wit Spider-Man a while ago” but that was a reshoot shoehorned into the movie to “connect” the 2.
Phase 4, for some reason, HAS to come out in chronological order. Which immediately gets fucked up if a movie gets delayed (which happened). For fucks sake the Phase before was all over the place. & we still enjoyed it.
But why can’t we get that same thing now? They cared about telling a good story without worrying abt chronologically. AND IT STILL MADE SENCE CHRONOLOGICALLY.
It was obvious that Captain marvel was before iron man. Antman & the wasp before Infinity War, Black Panther right after civil War. Etc etc.
It feels like they’ve just gotten lazy “yea. We made Infinity War & Endgame. People will watch whatever we make. So idgaf how good the project is. Just go make it. As quick as possible.” Hence us getting like 20 projects in under 2 years.
Reminder of how they wasted what would have been a great storyline. Gorr was completed wasted.
I thought that gorr would wish to save Jane’s life at the end of the movie and let himself die so he could be with his daughter. I thought it was the stupidest ending that resolved nothing and showed no character development.

Yeah, but I still couldn't finish watching the Movie. I mean It was cool, seeing Russel Crow play Zeus, but the movie needed something more than gimmicks and Celebrity Cameos. (I am glad I missed the whole, Kids come to the rescue, thing at the end. (Barf))

@greenman8 i actually really liked that scene, it was a lot of fun. Lots of messages in kids shows i grew up with was about about children empowerment, gave the warm nostalgic feeling.
Thor Love and Thunder could’ve been so much better. I guess I would rather watch it than Ant-Man Quantum Mania. However that’s not of a high/low bar to reach. Plus I could see Gor the God Killer to be the MCU’s version of Kratos. Sadly we barely got any of that.

The film is a downgrade from the source comic, which was epic. Even if they had to modify the story to fit the MCU and the already-established film lore, the decisions were baffling.
But even within the constraints of the story, the Thor that had lost every single thing he had learned, entire character arc reset to zero.
The Eternity was an ok substitute for the God Bomb from the comics, but for Gorr to only be shown killing one pantheon, his, and none else? Only offscreen with Sif being amputated. Just wasted. And for silly jokes.
One thing: Taka seems to depict that Gorr's pantheon were celebrating killing the last necro sword's wielder. And distracted from the drought during the fight. The sword called Gorr. That's why it was lying around.
In the comics Gorr comes upon his God (I'm not sure) in a death match with the necro sword's wielder. His God, though victorious, is mortally wounded and asked for his help. Gorr takes the sword and kills the God and vows to kill all Gods. Was the film's version an improvement? No.

Adn at the end, there was a big point of his resurrected child accusing him, and I paraphrase inaccurately, "What have you become, if not a god yourself?," in response to one more act of his villainy.

That movie has always gotten flack. One half of the fandom loved it, the other hated it. There were always idiots complaining about how it had too much humor.
Honestly I don't see the Love & Thunder discourse any differently. People are way exaggerating how the humor "ruins" everything. It's pathetic.
Am I the only one who didn’t hate this movie? Sure, it has some issues, and maybe it’s because Multiverse of Madness was such a huge mess, but I still liked it.
I though Christian Bale was great as Gor, I liked how Thor was a much more active protagonist compared to Strange in MoM, and I liked seeing the more mystical cosmic aspects of the MCU. Heck, I even liked Jane’s story in this movie!
I will say that I think they could’ve stuck with the earlier version of Russell Crowe’s Zeus, and it was a bummer they cut the scenes with Gor killing all the gods in the MCU.
Also, judging by the comments, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the MCU ISN’T bad. I admit not all of their recent projects have been flawless, but the stuff that’s been good (From what I’ve seen) has been REALLY good.

If I may, I think I have a solution to the necrosword. In the comics, it was a symbiote. When Gorr first found it, it was a little nub. What if the more gods he kills, the stronger the sword gets? By the time of L&T, he’s killed many gods allowing him to match Thor.

I'd like to give my re-write as well. First change Mighty Thor is not in the movie. Also no kidnapping...
But movie starts off virtually the same except we never see the daughter die. Instead she's just sick, and the God refuses to heal her. Thor gets news of Jane's cancer and rushes back to Earth. We get extended glimpses of Gorr asking Gods for the location of Omnipotent city. Thor reconnects with Jane. And essentially, we get this tragic irony of a God who is incapable of saving the one person he loves because the threat isn't physical. Is a god who can't even save his love worthy?
So there's more focus on Gorr slaying gods and trying to find Omnipotent city and Thor's relationship with Jane. Gorr attacks Thor on Earth. Tell him he'll spare him if he tells him the location of Omnipotent city. Thor refuses. As Gorr is about to kill Thor, sick Jane shows up. Gorr is reminded of his daughter and flees. Thor gets the idea that he might be able to save her by taking her to Omnipotent city. Valkyrie wants Thor that the Gods will try to stop Thor from entering the city.
They go on the same adventure. except we get introduced to Hercules earlier. He's trying to stop Thor from reaching the city, but fails. The scenes of them reaching Omnipotent city occur much the same, except Thor is begging the Gods to save Jane. When Zeus refuses, he questions Zeus and why they refuse to help the mortal including defeating Thanos.
Gorr interrupts. He was able to follow Thor to Omnipotent city. He reveals he's not here to kill the Gods, but just wants to save his daughter. Zeus reveals himself as the real villain, and monologues about how unworthy mortals are/ beneath him. Gorr pleads. Zeus agrees to save her from her pain, and does so by shooting a lightning bolt through her chest.
Its at this point, Gorr loses complete control of the Necrosword and starts rampaging through Omnipotent city. Thor and co fight off his creatures in order to evacuate Jane to safety. Gorr kills Zeus. After getting Jane to safety, Thor decides he must return to stop Gorr, and leaves. Thor battles Gorr on the ruins of Omnipotent city. Gorr easily wins, and tells Thor of all his failings, convincing Thor of his unworthiness. Thor loses his abilities and becomes a "mortal". Gorr takes storm breaker and makes a gate back to Earth of which he kicks Thor through.
Back on Earth, Thor finds Jane dying and apologizes for all that's happened. Jane consoles Thor and tells him being worthy is about the ability to empathize with mortals and never stop trying to help/save them. Thor realizes that Jane is what makes Thor worthy to hold Mjlonir. He takes her to remnants of Mljnoir, and tell her to put her hands on the case. He states: Whosoever holds this hammer, if he.... or SHE by worthy, shall possess the power of Thor". Suddenly, the remnants fly into each other and reform Mjlonir. The hammer flies to Jane's hand and she's transformed into the Mighty Thor.
End credit scenes: Hercules vowing revenge against Thor. And another final shot of Gorr stating his vow to kill all Gods.
I really love the idea of the tragic irony. Thor this all-powerful gods being unable to save Jane. Also, I love the idea of essentially giving Gorr the same motivations as Thor. IMO it was a huge mistake to kill Gorr off after one movie... But the downside to this plot is it would certainly require a second movie to wrap up the loose ends of the first. BUT I think it would be an amazing inverse to this movie. The second one would be about a Mortal Thor trying to save his Godly girlfriend from Gorr/Hercules(?).

Lets just say it. Comics are Lazy there for any Movie based on Comic Books are lazy. All movies must be original. Thats actuly what Im hearing with this video. Its just my Oppinon.
All we need is serious directors, like the Russo Brothers, Benjamin Caron and Matt Reeves. Stop giving these wacky directors like Taika Waitit or people who don't know what they're doing like Chloé Zhao. Ultimately I blame Kevin Feige, he is the guy overseeing Marvel and he is letting this happen. The only reason heads like him aren't being blamed is because he doesn't really put himself in the spotlight Kathleen Kenedy. It is all weird and it needs to stop.

The best example of why Ragnarok worked and Love and Thunder didn't is the theatre scene.
In Ragnarok the whole joke is that Loki, disguised as Odin, is the one who set it up. The framing of Loki as the hero of the story is funny, because we know it isn't true and is a product of Loki's vanity.
Now look at the Love and Thunder. The theatre is just set up by the Asguardians, re-telling the story of Ragnarok.
I would argue that Jane's sacrifice would be to turn down a chance to go to live in Valhalla. That is what happens in the comics. She decides that she had more to give and risks her life to help defeat Malekith in War of the Realms. She becomes Mighty Thor and then becomes Valkyrie because Asgard needs a Valkyrie to re-open Valhalla which was closed after the destruction of the Valkyries. That would be an interesting arc for Jane after Love and Thunder. I do think that Portman and Hemsworth have chemistry. When they embark on their journey, Jane and Thor glance at each other and it is clear that they adore each other. As to the movie, I would have wanted more scenes of Jane and Valkyrie having discussions over whether Jane should tell Thor about her cancer.
I feel like by removing the heart of the film your version feels kinda empty. I'm all for exploring the god aspect further, but there has to be ana emotional core and theme beyond that ethical dilemma
The thing that disappoints me the most with this film is that when i watch taikas past work it's the ultimate whiplash. He CAN make great films but he's just going for the bare minimum here. Like dude.... you made Ragnarok and JoJo rabbit what happened?
Everyone keeps sucking the fart out of Christian Bale's Gorr in this movie, due to his performance, but I when I watched this trash movie, he was on screen for almost as long as Malekith from "Dark World" and didn't do much on screen to make me go: "Ohhhhh Sh*t!!"
Everything and Everyone in this movie was trash, and I'm glad I watched a pirate copy on my firestick...
Now, GotG3 and Across the Spiderverse, Those were good movies worthy of taking my ass back to the cinema.

Imagine thinking there's any difference between Ragnajoke and this crap, or that Waititi has ever gotten Thor right. Reminder, in Thor Ragnajoke he made Thor into a dimwitted cretin who lies to Hulk/Banner to get them on his side, he forgets about Warriors Three & Sif, who were his best friends and were ready to die for him in previous movies, and instead whines throughout the movie about losing his hammer. He's made Thor an unlikable, unloyal, dumb d1pshit since day one. But it appears it only caught on to you MCU fans only know. And now there are rumors Hacktiti is coming back for the fifth one. The MCU is literally repeating a mistake WB almost committed when they thought about continuing Batman franchise with Schumacher after the fourth one.
Thor love and thunder along with multiverse of madness I had the biggest expectations for, and both failed to meet them. However, for some strange reason(pun not intended) MOM worked better for me, and each time I rewatch it it gets better. But for Thor 4, its story was just generic, and didn't do what it needed to---see Gorr kill!!! And the "save the children" story was not needed, 1) because its a lame plot in my opinion, and 2) Guardians 3 did it 10x better!

They kinda did this to themselves by disconnecting or bad-connecting the Movies/Series they have been throwing out since endgame. Spider-Man: No Way Home and now Guardians 3 were the only good Movies (by far) and just because they worked on their own respectively the had a great foundation in the older Phases. Every other Movie/Series fails no connect and if they do it's done very poorly with extremely bad writing story and characterwise.

The heads at MCU have pissed on the notion that a few actors charisma was the initial hook and bait. Without RDJ in the 1st movie, would it have taken off? Maybe. Regardless, with Gunn packing his stories up and most of the Guardians we like being done, the MCU is trying to sell us on the teenage girl lineup. There's 4 to 6 teenage girls in line for some upcoming Avengers movie probably with Captain Marvel running the show. Who has any personality that's different? Are they all sassy kung fu geniuses? Ugh.

Save for a few things, every movie and show is the death of the MCU.
Like you say with Star Wars, it supposedly died with The Rise of Skywalker yet the Mandolorian and Obi Wan did great and I assume Ahsoka will do well too.
Remember that the Gorr introduction is apparently thousands of years before the modern era, so the snap didn't affect Gorr at all.

That actually would have been a better introduction than what we got.

Eternity is in the comics, but isn’t some wishing well. That character is the kind of power that is maybe one tier below Thanos with the gauntlet if not a slight tier above. Usually the kind of character dr strange encounters. That was a total waste of a character. That dude has legendary power.
This movie sucked and really shit on quality comic source material. Cheaply made. Insulted the legacy of Thor in so many ways.

Why do you get pissed off about people saying Star Wars is dead? There maybe some points that don’t make sense, but there are so many points they make that are valid. I wouldn’t say that Star Wars is truly dead, but I am most definitely not a fan at all of the sequel trilogy and consider it creatively bankrupt.
Thankfully they retooled the infinity saga because originally Thanos began a conquest for the hand of mistress Death. He wonders how to get her attention so decides on annihilating half the life in the multiverse. One of the major Flaws of Marvel as a company is their flippant disregard of their characters. There are too many storylines with single characters killing all life in the multiverse, or going on massive crusades to have the outcome be a fizzle instead of a satisfying conclusion. These stories were never meant for such exposure but the proven method to sell and maintain book sales at least for months at a time until the worst habit being reconning all of the events to then return without consequence to point A. There is limited promise of success and growth with these practices and that's why the entire franchise will fail. By the way thank you for making this rewrite, well worth the time.
I would have liked Atlantis Attacks or The Evolutionary War as a story arch in the movies.
