But for now on a giant company like Samsung they should have done something with the gap between exynos and snapdragon. That's why I kinda hate the whole exynos-SD drama. Either you go with all exynos or all snapdragon
I'm considering shelling for one, but mainly because I miss having a stylus. Plus, the Huawei P30 I bought because it was cheap and my Pixel XL 2 was crapping out, is a device that I didn't think was possible to be this bad. The bloat is insane, you can't even disable the apps and they launch by default, even if you're just unpausing your music.
Could you test how long the display can hold maximum brightness. S20 can do it only for a few minutes in direct sunlight or in hot weather. There's a topic on Samsung support forum.

The resolution/refresh rate trade-off sounded silly to me when I first heard of it but I've read of some screen issues the OnePlus 8 Pro is experiencing. Maybe that's why Samsung is playing it safe.

Hello I'm planning to buy a Note 20 ultra 5g from the US (ebay) to use it overseas. The model is N986U (carrier unlocked - not the factory unlocked). The seller said it is FULLY UNLOCKED and works fine globally, my question is: 1- Is it going to works/update smoothly just like I'm buying it from Samsung directly? 2- Do I will feel any difference when using it? But overall if you are coming on older Galaxy Note or Galaxy S phones (save for S20 Ultra or Note10+) and have already moved on from the headphone jack then Note20 Ultra is worth your consideration.
Got mine yesterday, its amazing. The screen and the 120hz man... coming from a note 9 .. its a different world. But don't know about the battery life. On my first full day, I got about 7 hour OST. Is that good ?
Yes that is actually very good, especially when you consider the size, brightness, and high refresh rate of the screen that the battery is supporting. Impressive to me.
There's only 3 features that will keep a NOTE device in my life. 1.Schedule Text 2. S. Pen 3. Translate in text messages. Those are the big ones for me.
I am upgrading from my note 8. Only per 3 generations its worth upgrading. Your question is really concerning if you find it logical to update every year.
I don't get the obsession with QHD+ and high refresh rate. OnePlus did it, but their displays are having multiple issues from ghosting, to burn-ins around the camera. If Samsung being the original manufacturers of the panel, are abstaining from using high refresh rate + high resolution, then it stands to reason that the technology isn't ready to deliver.
It is all about selling phones and Samsung must get the latest features out to sell to their fans who overvalue the latest specs. We have seen with the S20 Ultra that pushing things through quickly can lead to a compromised product (camera). They would have had 120Hz with QHD if the Exynos chip could cope with it, but the Exynos GPU is very weak and fails for anything intensive. Of course, Samsung could not have the SD865+ having both and the Exynos only one or other. Watch Speedtest G, see how poor the Exynos is with 33% worse frame rates and awful performance.
The price for Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G in my country, Malaysia in year 2023, is RM 1,400.00 until RM 1,800.00. I still considering about it. My current phone is Galaxy A32

Jusr preordered mine here in Australia the other day, was not worried about exynos 990 chipset. Then read the specs on the Telcos website that was providing it (Telstra). Apparently we are supposed to be getting the exynos 9830 chipset not the 990. Hoping it is a mistake in their web specks. Went to check on Samsung Australia web site but for some reason the specks have been removed. So currently waiting to see if we're getting screwed here in Australia again, because cost starts at nearly $2000 Australian
This beautiful girl gives a sober review of the Note 20 Ultra! I understand her concern for the pricing compare to other phones. But the other phones do not have many features like support from a brand like Samsung, IP68, Gorilla Glass 8, and some others. But the Exynos 990 is something outrageous.

You are wrong lol the ultra comes in the same colours as the note 20 also the front screen of the ultra has curved edges the note 20 does not I've just ordered one in white as the black one and the bronze wasn't in stock 😅 I'd prefer your black one over the white but since I'm going to stick it in a case I guess I'm cool with it

SD865 without question. The difference in terms of performance and efficiency between Samsung's own Exynos 990 and SD865+ is huge, like 20% difference
It is a big difference and the biggest problem is that there is no Snapdragon version here in Iraq.
