I gasped when I saw this video listing. "You did not..." My first time hearing this sonata was HertzDevil's chiptune rendition, and it's been one of if not my most favorite Beethoven piece since. I often can't stand many interpretations of this piece, especially in the first movement's intro (they're always rushing it!!), but your interpretation is awesome!! I normally don't gravitate towards the 2nd movement, but your handling of dynamics and articulation there was astounding!! I was a bit disappointed to see that it was an abridged version and not the full thing, but I guess that just means I'll have to jump on making my own rendition sooner I guess. lol Awesome work all around though.

Thank you for the very kind words in your review of my arrangement! I'm happy to know that you were excited to see that someone made an arrangement of the Pathetique. I love covering classical music even though I know it's not the most popular genre. I'm thrilled there are still plenty of classical music-lovers out there!

No matter how good anyone ever plays this, when people ask, the answer is always, "It was pathetic". What was Beethoven thinking? Where are his follow ups, "A Really Stinky Piece", "This Tune Makes You Hurl", and of course the encore piece "It's All Just Crap". Silly Beethoven.
At least he scored the brilliant hit that people celebrate all over the world where people put signs in their windows and front yards cheering this beloved tune "Fur Elise" (But of course the English spelling is For Lease.)

Haha that's so funny, I never even considered interpreting the title in that way! Before posting, I did a quick search on it, and I guess it was actually named by someone else and the word "pathetic" in this case is to be defined by something closer to "tragic".
Either way, the self-deprecating version sure sounds more in line with Beethoven's personality haha!

@@MarkKlett Being the nerd I am, I did a wide search of the etymology of the word before posting, to respect your brains and not accidentally steer you wrong, even for a punch line. Pathology is the study of disease, and pathos are emotions, because emotions apparently lend themselves to suffering more than anything, and pathetic for a while meant strong emotion. Over all, path as a root word keeps changing its meaning every hundred years or so.
So there is your brain treat and it was mine to learn that he didn't name the piece. I thought by his era, all the tunes were now named by their composer. I know they weren't earlier or more often the name was just the event, like a jig, or a dance of some kind, or fire works etc.
Merry Christmas. (I found your channel because of your awesome Christmas songs. They will always be in my holiday rotation too : )
