Ever since I first discovered them long ago, I've fallen in love with all of them and the delightful real music they play. Long may they enjoy and prosper.
I honestly can't believe how good this is wow....... nothing like hearing something for the first time that resonates so deeply it's like catching up with an old friend.
Such special cohesion. We can be so proud that these musicians found what they needed at the New England Conservatory and then went lightyears into creativity. And they've stayed the course for a decade. Another Day, Another Time.
Just perfect 7 years ago... Thanks God I found LSD a couple of weeks ago and I am listening to every song I can dig. Perfect musicians. Live performances are when truth comes out. Hope destiny can keep´em together and evolving. Sooo good !!! Congrats, be sure you are beyond the standard of quality musicians and quality music.
These folks are all amazing, and I love the sound that Bridget Kearney gets out of that bass. Awesome stuff, with some of the tightest syncopations I have ever heard out of a "rock band" (these guys are so much more than that, I had to put it in quotes).
I love these raw sounding groups playing into really expensive audio gear its great and very effective. Great song writing and unique sound. Its like acoustic Zeppelin with an RnB singer.
I completely disagree. they do not have the equivalent of a Jimmy page or John Jones. I mean Jimmy was one of the best of all time, and most of the time he would take over songs. rachel is the centerpiece of this band. but they wouldn't be the same band if they had an over powering lead guitarist. they are perfect the way they are
Wow. Just freakin' wow. Great sound. Great voice, (understatement), great band. And if you get a chance to see them live (been fortunate to see them twice) they-will- blow-you- away!
We'll all have different opinions about this but... For me there is a very small group of singers that have always blown me away. Aretha Franklin, Cass Elliot, and Patsy Cline. Seriously, I bet Aretha Franklin sound good brushing her teeth. Until now there was pretty much everyone else in their rear-view mirrors. Until now. Move over ladies and welcome Ms. Rachel Price to the lineup. Absolutely, positively, incredible. Her voice will make your head resonate (in a good way). Saw them live a couple nights ago and was amazed. Magnetic, can't look away good. If you get the chance, SEE THEM LIVE!
It's hard to imagine anything better than this. The tone on that beautiful hollow-body, the upright bass, the sound from the drums (recorded perfectly, btw), the AMAZING Rachael Price and her seemingly effortless soulful voice. If I were to construct the perfect band and have them play the perfect song, I'd be too late, because it's already been done and this is it. Getting choked up while I write and listen to this because it's just so, so good.
Just picked up tix for a show in Philly. I haven't looked forward to a show this much in a long time. All beautiful stuff. Thanks for the BUMP Stephen.
That's a Miktek CV4 in figure 8 pattern, running directly into an Allen & Heath console (internal mic pre). Whole session is a live 2 track mix, mixed on headphones in the same live room as the players---studio control room was not used. - Aaron
Thanks for those details, I was wondering and could hear that it was a better mic from the getgo. Nice detail there in Rachael's voice. Got love A&H British Pre's for the win. Enjoyed all the outside "Steely Dan" voicing and syncopation. A tour de force really.
Kick ass power on vocals and instruments. Awesome. This is so freakin' good it gave me chills, I shed a tear and I think my weaner wiggled a little bit too.
@david lassell : Off the top of my head, the other mics are: RE20 on kick, Raven on snare, pair of Miktek C7's for drum overheads, bass is DI from the head, e609 on guitar, B58 on drummer vocal, and Miktek PM9 on bass vocal. -- Aaron
So sad. They were to perform at Old Settlers Music Fest and canceled, for some reason, on the day of their scheduled appearance. Darn!!!!! Awesome soul she projects!
It may remind you of Amy but she was a slavish and mediocre copier of superior talents. LSD are forging their own identity and writing cool original songs.
The first minute of this is better than anything else on the radio. Jesus.
This band is great! Her vocals and "soul" is off the chart! I just fell in love!
this is one of the indicators of a truly talented band. as crazy good as the album version is, the live will always blow you away
This the best stuff I've heard in years. They deserve every success. Four people just singing and playing their instruments. Makes my hair go weird.

Great original sound! Love the Bluesy voice. Cant wait to hear them on the radio!

Dude that is an excellent way of describing the sound.
Brian Cullen yeah but they sound amazing regardless of the gear

O my dear lord, her voice..
Damn. Just damn.
Why the hell this isn't "top 40"? Too smart for the masses?
Because the top 40 is pop music, they are far from pop
Keith Rose That's my point.. Pop as in popular. Why is this not popular?
Is it because most of the populous's taste is all in their mouths?
So cool to see musicians having a great time doing what they love ...its infectious , really outstanding musicians too

That voice. Amazing.
I like! Can't wait to see this band at the Montreal jazz festival!

Maybe you could tell us what brand of gas she had in her car when she drove to the recording session. Jeez. Really?
@@hotajax It was Shell brand gasoline.
@@MusicFog What a stooge.
She is absolutely incredible, and I'm not kidding.....
Own it, Bridget Kearney is an amazing Bassist. Her parts are the functional driver for every thing they do.
I have to follow every channel that features this band. Awesome. AWESOME.
Love this band. Hope to see them at the Gorge this Summer. Please send tickets to this poor guy. Your newest SUPERFAN

Im diggen the retro sound.... Kinda Louisiana a little. blues.. awesome.... keep sharing the music..

Man I love this thank you Music Fog!
I only watched because I'm considering adding a CV4 to my mic locker, but I stayed for the talented musicians and good song and forgot about the mic.

Sensational.

I like this one, too. I thought Scarlett Johansson was singing with you guys for half a second. Great song!
Damn...funky as hell. Very tasty all around
Nothing but AWESOME !
Love this band and Rachael's voice :)
Holy shit. I've never seen McDuck show so much emotion.
Love this!!!!
For all of you who say "lake street dive", why aren't they number one yet, well just wait
they will never be number 1, because they are not pop music
Keith Rose way to preach it from the mountain top brother... wait...
+Keith Rose They're not Taylor Swift-pop music, but they ARE pop, and that's the best thing about them.
Don't worry about that.
They are getting the respect on tour. Success in music today isn't from radio, it's from ticket sales.
wait for what? you think radio is gonna play this?
Koen...you couldn't be more wrong.
hot music, great chemistry!
She has a Amy Winehouse / Nikka Costa sounding voice. I can dig it. Musicians are good too. Glad I found her and the band.
love the "dissonance", great!
Holy crap, good stuff.
Great sound!
she has a great voice yea !
Jaysus.....it's really all I can utter.

They were to perform at Old Settlers Music Fest and canceled, for some reason, on the day of their scheduled appearance.

Awesome soul she projects!
So good.
It is an Epiphone Dot....I have seen him play it in other videos.
this girls voice is amazing... I would love to know what this mic is running through
I kind of like the idea of you got me food more than you got me fooled but it's such a great song
this here's the TRUTH!!

Got a Black Crowes feel. I dig it!
awesome voice! Reminds me of Amy winehouse
***** I feel ya man.
It may remind you of Amy but she was a slavish and mediocre copier of superior talents. LSD are forging their own identity and writing cool original songs.
