I like to think they rehearsed this one way, and then when it aired Kate decided to adlib some of the 'experiments' just to mess with Ryan. And it was gold.
They definitely changed the script to mess with him. Kind of like how John Mulaney did it to Bill Hader.

everyone’s talking about Cecily Strong, but i don’t think i’ve ever seen Mikey Day break.
He is an incredibly steady cast member(always solid, rarely remarkable) so he gets less overall attention IMO. He broke a little in the cut for time Drama Teacher skit with Ferrell, but he plays it off really well.
Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen him break, even when playing Don Jr. trying to wrangle Eric.
He broke in the Genetics Lab sketch. Other than that, I've not seen him break. He's great 👍

The writing is so good. The pairs of rhyming words that Kate McKinnon used to describe her private parts escalates from one syllable (bush/tush) to two syllables (choco/taco) to three syllables (pink pocket/stink rocket). That had to be deliberate.
