Could you EVEN IMAGINE seeing your baby girl, who means everything to you, piling boxes in front of the front door, and telling you that you love the fans more than your own family. I think I would've just broken down right there on the spot.
I'd listen to this again. Three song is very similar to cats and a cradle until he says that the whole song was a dream and he wakes up to his kids on the swings and kisses his wife. The song becomes a literal wake up call to him to doing things different because that dream could easily become a reality for him. "Shady made me, but tonight, shady is Rock a bye baby". He actually stopped doing music for 5 years after this album and was a stay at home dad
Lori McKinney Proof’s death made it worse but he was already doing bad with the pills before Proof died, he’d been to rehab for it once at that point but didn’t take it seriously and did them heavy again soon like he said on Underground “fucking doctor I ain’t understand a damn what he said I planned to Relapse the second I walked out of that bitch”
He didn't stop making music for 5 years. In late 2006, the Re-Up album was released and he was also working on a solo album, which he scrapped. The song Beautiful was supposed to be on it, it was made in 2007. From 2007 to 2009 he was working on Relapse.
I think a lot of ppl misconstrued the meaning of this song He was publicly putting to bed his alter ego of Slim Shady. He was killing off Slim Shady. He was maturing.. this was the official end of Shady...but Eminem and Marshall are still here
It was written/recorded during the height of his drug issues, it was his retirement song at the time (released in 2005 with his greatest hits). He was putting Slim Shady, his Mr. Hyde, to bed, to try and continue a normal life. Obviously he OD'd twice in 2007 and he came back in 2009 with Relapse (with a return of the Shady persona) after getting clean. But this was supposed to be his swansong/farewell to music when he was burned out at the time. Would have been fitting if he never recorded another song
@@sjn6704 if you listen to the lyrics hes talking directly to his alter ego "I turn around,, found a gun on the ground and cocked it/ put it to my head said "die Shady" and popped it" With Shady came trouble, with Shady came drug and alcohol abuse. He was putting an end to him and all that. Retired his alter ego/got clean
Mad respect man. I love that you didn't pretend to love or even really like the song (even though it is one of my favorites off that album). Seemed like a genuine reaction and that's what we want. So many reaction videos are trying to act shocked or offended or amazed or whatever but you were just like ahhh, whatever. I subscribed off the back of that.
That's the reason he's stayed in Detroit and doesn't tour a lot. His life will always be Detroit. His entire life is Detroit and his daughters. He grew up in a very insecure situation. An abusive mother moving constantly. He's decided they won't grow up without security and I respect him for that decision 💯
This is probably one of my favorite Eminem songs and has actually inspired me to go back and listen to other famous songs like it. That's likely because I'm only 22. I respect your opinion, however.
It did well because anyone who has kids who has been so depressed over other things can relate. When my wife died last year after 20yrs I was borderline Suicidal my kids kept me alive I still cry when I hear this song today.
Surprised you didn't like this one by em...it's a good Song, the message is awesome...if your a big em fan, and followed everything he has done in the time it came out, this song was huge at the time. More of an em classic now. Thanks for the reaction! 🤟🏼🤟🏼
it was an NA group. Em has had issues with addiction in the past and even said in an interview that it got so bad at one point that the paramedics said that he was literally 2h from death bc he had so much Vicodin and Ambien in his system, that if he had gotten to the hospital 2h later, he would've been dead. Idk if this is like actual footage from when he was at the NA group or not, but he recently celebrated 11y sober. Also, when Hailie's talking to Em and says 'mom your wrists are bleeding,' she really tried to kill herself. Also, when he says 'the plane I was supposed to be on crashes and burns to ashes, he doesn't mean it literally; it's a metaphor saying that if he continues on the path he's on, everything's gonna fall apart
Another artist I grew up on. An amazing lyrical rapper. This song hits differently, my step father listened to this song all day the day before he committed suicide. He wasn't allowed to see his daughter, due to being married to my mother. Weird to say I still know every word after 10 years.
Bradlee Walsh He already reacted to the Fall Eminem show album it’s on his patriae on I was asking if he was going to post it on RUclips and make it public
One of my all time favorite Eminem songs I can only find on youtube, is "difficult" it's a song for Proof. There is so much raw emotion in Em's voice. If you don't do a reaction video, I'd at least listen on your own time.
Totally respect your opinion. Honesty is always good. I guess growing up in late nineties and 00s. I can relate to him more then cats in the cradle. My older sister is the other way around
u should eventually do castle & arose because they connect to his daughter and are really personal songs that connect together castle is the song that goes into arose so id listen to castle first
theres alot of factors your missing out. even if theres other similar type songs, its about how the message has been conveyed through the chosen genre. many misses out on making the listener connect and relate and therefore while being the same type song, just wont have the same effect. its his wording, metaphors and how you as the listener is in his shoes for a while. another example is modern theater vs old. how a modern theater can just blow people away with the same play just a modern tweak, doesnt make it bad because its done before. same for music. also it conveys a little more than what you have read into the song so far..
He made this song because he thought it was actually the end of him; he wouldn't be around much longer. He was at the height of his drug addiction and super stardom. It's why it's such a fucking masterpiece. His last hoorah.
Who cares if its fair or no one else is going to win. The people have spoke, give the people what they want. If most of your subs are wanting or asking for Eminem wouldn't you want to make videos for them? That's why you're making videos right? For your subscribers to watch. Give them what they want. That's my opinion any ways. I wouldn't care what's fair.. But I can see the other side too, Making videos of what you want and not wanting to do the same artist every week. You just gotta find that balance. Maybe do one Eminem song per week. Make a Eminem Thursday's or something because I bet you have a lot more STANS subscribed to you than you might think.
I don’t know why you are surprised it won the poll, it’s one of his most regarded songs. I can see the side of Eminem you like now though, pretty much just the Slim Shady side, which yeah it was a good era while it lasted, but from this video it doesn’t seem like you like his more real stuff. Which I find very unfortunate, cause they are awesome. But to each their own I suppose. 🤷🏼♀️
The song is about Eminem,Putting Slim Shady to bed and not being Angry and on Drugs..... The is very Deep and in HipHop this kind of song as not been done alot..... Great F'n Song
I've said it before and I'll say it again: please do "who do you believe in" by 2Pac, if you get around to it... other than that, a little surprised you didn't really seem to like this one
My father left today at 5:30am and is right now having a meeting that began at 9pm. After it he's taking a bath and goes to bed. When I asked him to stop working so hard he basically told me he's working for my sake. His parents never supported him. He wants to be different. I just hope that I don't hear he hung himself one day. He's already on anti-depressives to deal with the stress. 2.5 more years of this and he'll leave me a solid 10k/month for the rest of my life + a nice job. So from his perspective it's worth it.
Yelawolf - Elvis Messy and Yelawolf - Mountain Dew freestyles please, actually no, react to every freestyle he put up until his last album ( there's like 10) that would make for an epic video

Honestly if there are 10 songs I actually "like" of Eminem's, I would be shocked... I do like his rapping, his styles, his lyrics especially, all the double entendres and even triples at tims. Songs like this one, I don't even like "Lose Yourself". Feels purposely pop, although the lyrics are incredible. Same with this one.
This song is iconic because he was publicly putting to bed and killing off his alter ego Slim Shady. He reflected on alll the drama and trauma that life brought him (drugs, lawsuits, drama) he matured and put to bed a whole character that made him famous. I think a lot of people don't get that...how huge that is "I put the gun to my head said die SHADY and cocked" and the chorus "and when I'm gone carry on don't mourn rejoice everytime you hear the sound of my voice" and he never went blonde (shady) after this

I'm an Eminem fan who really likes this song but I have no problem admitting when Eminem isn't at his best unlike some of his crazy Stan's.
which is not this case so its not relevant at all
His face says all, em is the best, heed the call, never fear the tear
