Thanks for video. As a Slavic language speaker I usually do the same mistakes so it's really helpful to hear them from sb else. Marina speaks Russian more than English. It's obvious from her mistakes. I'm sure she knows the rules (like articles for example) but hasn't converted them into a speech habit.She is still translating things instead of taking them automatically out of her head.
If Marina were constantly studying the language with native English teachers, with books written by native people and corrected and analyzed by people more experienced in the English language, she wouldn't make so many mistakes, the fact that she doesn't stutter or think too much to speak gives the She has heightened confidence.

I think it is always more reliable and safe to learn English from a native speaker who has spoken the mother tongue since childhood or at least 20 years, and has a quality certificate.
There are no perfect people and there are no perfect teachers. If a person makes mistakes, it is no reason to stop doing what he or she is doing. If she makes 1% of the mistakes, why should she stop doing 99% of the useful work?

I just can't believe those popular youtubers.. honestly their speech sounds somewhat natural and as a non-native speaker I can't see these mistakes. They fooled me. Thank you Kevin and Lisa, I don't want to be fooled. Although, "meet a dog" was obviously wrong, but funny. It's like you see a dog and say "Hi!" and it says "good day to you, sir, nice to meet you".

People are drawn to them because they are great entertainers, but not because they are good tutors. I am glad you guys making your videos and correct the mistakes of self-proclaimed teachers. It is hard to navigate among all these courses and find a good one especially when you are a beginner. Some people are teaching others, writing posts without understanding the subject. And coming across these fake gurus is a total waste of time and disappointent. You guys aren't just correcting the mistakes but fighting this evil trend of poor experts who gives the illusion of knowledge.

It's one thing to know how to communicate in English, it's another thing to teach English. The problem is that many people think they have enough knowledge to teach. Then you have to go through this shame on the world wide web. Congratulations on the channel.
It is not the same in the field of Art or Philosophy. I came to the US in my 20s. I just started teaching philosophy at a US university. Philosophical thoughts can be expressed in a new way in English. There is no English teacher that can correct that. Philosophy and Art have the authority to create new concepts.
At the 57:00 minute mark he was right because in this example she should have said “ON” the stage or “ON stage” but it is perfectly fine to say “IN” the stage if referring to a period of time. Example-He was in the stage of his life when he was trying to decide if he wanted to start working or pursue his master’s degree. He was ok to correct her specific example but it is sometimes OK to say “IN the stage” when referring to a point in time. It’s good to be clear in all potential scenarios. Although he was right in correcting her, it is acceptable to say in the stage sometimes as well.
Additionally, in my sample sentence above-one could say “He was AT THAT stage in his life when he was trying to decide if he should start working or pursue his master’s degree.”

I try to learn english only from native english speakers, but the problem is that those native speakers , many times. dont know what could be a good way to learn a new language. Very is a good word, whoever says that using very is a mistake is very wrong. - P/S: I've just got corrected recently for using "very". That just makes me wonder, did they watch Marina's videos? 😂
Of course it's not a mistake the thing is we do have to use a lot of synonyms to expand our vocabulary to sound more professional but of it's not possible, it's OK then.
I guess the girl in the video meant it as over using it in contexts where you should use a different word with similar meaning instead of "very". (like as words like "much", "soo", "highly", "greatly" and there is even more that i couldn't recall right now) And the emphasis is on OVER USING. I also tend to fall for this over usage in situations where i should have used a different word instead.

There are many online resources available to check how English words are pronounced in various English speaking countries, so I can't understand how someone who's not a native speaker doesn't double check the content that's going to be taught when planning a lesson, which is going to be watched by thousands of people.

Marina does not even know how much she doesn't know about English. Her level is B2 with lots of mistakes. However, her confidence gives a false impression that her level is C2. I pity her blissfully unaware viewers.

Of course it's not a mistake the thing is we do have to use a lot of synonyms to expand our vocabulary to sound more professional but of it's not possible, it's OK then.
I guess the girl in the video meant it as over using it in contexts where you should use a different word with similar meaning instead of "very". (like as words like "much", "soo", "highly", "greatly" and there is even more that i couldn't recall right now)
And the emphasis is on OVER USING.
I also tend to fall for this over usage in situations where i should have used a different word instead.

@@howie253 Maybe she did explain it. We only seen a few seconds of that video before they did cut it off to complain about it.
There are many online resources available to check how English words are pronounced in various English speaking countries, so I can't understand how someone who's not a native speaker doesn't double check the content that's going to be taught when planning a lesson, which is going to be watched by thousands of people.

Can't believe she claims to be a teacher, and yet makes such mistakes, which would be okay if she wasn't "teaching" and on top of that she offers courses and makes profit deceiving people. She doesn't seem to care, way too much confidence. Thanks Kevin and Liza for teaching English correctly

I was about to say the same thing, especially about the "blowing out a candle" part. She's not only reading and teaching the word incorrectly but is also so sure reinforcing it with examples. 😭😂
You can have the same confidence. Just find reliable native English teachers with at least a master's in ESL.
For people to better understand what you are saying that is right or wrong, you should use a black and white effect on the video so it would be clear that your examples are wrong when you want that.

Thank you for your videos, I really enjoy all the learning and thanks to you I stopped following these fake teachers. I cannot believe how Molinko dares to sell courses when she speaks without caring about her mistakes. That's not ethical at all.
Marina does not even know how much she doesn't know about English. Her level is B2 with lots of mistakes. However, her confidence gives a false impression that her level is C2. I pity her blissfully unaware viewers.
