wow, this is so amazing!! the technology is absolutely mind blowing. although, i do wish it had at least some similarities to the older mansion rides. i still can't wait to go here some day
To the theme maybe (due to it's Chinese cultural references that wouldn't work in the US anyway). That doesn't mean they can't clone the layout and re-theme it elsewhere..
Def a museum of the weird nod. a nod to the original medusa changing portriat. a nod to the singing bust... now singing knight heads. Even a slight nod to the tikiroom. Any other hidden HM refrences anyone? I cant wait till the music is released I love it!!! And the ending is awesome like a very updated version of PMs scene at the end with all of its chorus and stuff.
Wow, this is just magical! Disney Imagineers proof once more that they're state of the art. Hopefully, they'll use the same technology (not the cars but the screens and projections) for the Ratatouille ride in Paris next year.
Okay I get the portrait is a reference to Disneyland, but the busts are really iconic as well as Grim Grinning Ghosts, which was present in the other 4 attractions. I was hoping they would do something like the busts in the Paris version.
I hope that the Ratatouille ride at Walt Disney Studios @ Paris has the same type of vehicles as this one and has the same quality for special effects and theming, then it will be an awesome ride!
Wow, this ride is absolutely mindblowing and it really shows the level of attention to detail the the Imagineers strive to put into their designs. I'm a little surprised that there is no reference to the four other Haunted Mansion style rides. I was almost expecting the five busts singing Grim Grinning Ghosts somewhere in there...
Bravo! This is true Disney Magical Experience. If they bring this to Orlando it surely be a competitor against HPatFJ (which is currently my favorite ride). US Disney needs to not concern so much on budget limitations. People will know and appreciate where it went to. Just look at DisneySea.
Incorrect. If you watch his video carefully, you can see the differences. His is another ride-thru of the (amazing) attraction. In his, a reverse Nordic Chamber can be seen, with the same effects, but left to right, and the Mongol suit of armor not present in this video.
I find your comment offensive. Don't get me wrong. The park has just opened for about 7 years. The fan base is still growing at a slow but steady pace. The park is currently lack of dark rides. It deserves this ride and Disney should build more dark rides in the future. I believe one day local guests will enjoy a visit to HKDL as pleasant as, if not more so than, to ocean park.
Please don't simply generalize all Hong Kong people as the same type, there do have fans and supporters of Hong Kong Disneyland who loves the theme and story of the park, appreciates the ride system and show effects of the brand new WORLD EXCLUSIVE Mystic Manor. At least me and my friends really love it and are amazed by the Imagineers.
I believe there do have local people who are only fond of extremely thrill rides and are not used to the theme of Disney Parks. Indeed, local fans are trying to introduce the story of Disneyland to more local people. As fans, we really hope to share the magic of Disney's Imagineering to everyone, but this do needs time to change the rooted local culture.
Wow, that was amazing! I hope we get something like that here at our Disneyland at some point. At first I thought it was going to be some alteration of the Haunted Mansion, but this was...just... wow!
Wants ALL dark rides to use this wireless Tech. Its SO much cooler than On a track. (Although i Love Peterpan and Snow white with all my heart and soul). When you compare a snake-like layout of scenes with a room with no concrete tether to the ground marking your route....you cant beat full Rooms.
Are you kidding me -_- You did'nt see those armour who were singing? or the painting that chanced in medusa? That one is clearly a reference to the Haunted Mansions/Phantom Manor.
I'm from Hong Kong but now I live in Minnesota but at first when i came to America people were like wow you know English? I thought you were from China?
You are right! Most of hong kong people think that exciting rides are the first thing to concern about... Only a few of us appreciate dark rides like this ==
visually this ride looks fantastic. Shame as far as niche (dark story ride, slightly scary for kids) it is similar to Haunted mansion. They are both such pretty rides but they took a lot more freedom with this. I want to ride it.
wrong, this ride is for hongkoners, as well as mainland chinese and everyone else who visits hong kong disneyland, same goes for the future shanghai disneyland
Errr... I think what he meant was "Will Mistic Manor have a Nightmare Before Christmas version, just like it happens in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland?"
Too bad the local audience is not mature enough to appreciate such advanced dark ride. All they like are corny carnival rides that can be found in ocean park.
Its too bad Disney co is not willing to take the chance on an untried concept and do big scale like the Haunted Mansion if this had not been done so cartoonish and on such a small scale it could have been a ride to rival the likes of the Mansion and Pirates.
No don't unless Disney is prepared to shell out real coin to do this this well, do not attempt if you are going to scale it back like so many other imported attractions.
The Haunted Mansion will always be better, it has a timeless theme that cannot be broken. If Mystic Manor hits 40+ years old and still has a huge fan base, then we'll talk. Considering MM relies on its technology and less on theme, I don't feel it has that ability.
Can't wait until the soundtrack is released. I LOVE Danny Elfman's music.
7 years later, still not yet released…
wow, this is so amazing!! the technology is absolutely mind blowing. although, i do wish it had at least some similarities to the older mansion rides. i still can't wait to go here some day
This is truly something special. Everything comes together flawlessly, and Danny Elfman's score sets the perfect mood and tone. Sensational.
Absolutely amazing from start to finish!
Thx
Wowww! I loved every second of it. Amazing FX, amazing animatronic and the story line is super solid. The end its brilliant.
WOW!
Just goes to show what Disney can do when they really want to.
Wish they would build something like this in the US.
Wow! It ......is really awesome!!!
Sublime Worderfull I can't find a word to describe this...
possibly the best dark ride created in history. incredible... perfect mix of animatronic and projection effects... perfect ride
this is beyond amazing
Fantastic! Thanks for uploading this!
I have to say I think this is probably one of the coolest rides I've seen
Are they? I know there are some portions of the ride that are very hard to see due to the low lighting. I probably missed them.
This ride looks EPIC! Bring this to The Disneyland Resort!
Eeee, Danny Elfman soundtrack! Also, 4k projection, very nice. Disney HK needs more rides.
This is so cool! It's not exactly the same as the HM, or even PM, but it's still a really cool ride! I would love to see this in person!
Do you need 3D glasses for this ride? I've heard some things, but it looks good enough without glasses.
Has anyone found the music online yet?
中意迷離莊園,好震撼
OMG! I love this!
Same thing for us here in Italy. For many of us, the thrill is all that matters. What a shame.
This ride is Awesome! Disney should bring this to the Magic Kingdom!
sooooooooooooooooo much better than haunted mansion!!!!!!!!!!!!
To the theme maybe (due to it's Chinese cultural references that wouldn't work in the US anyway). That doesn't mean they can't clone the layout and re-theme it elsewhere..
looks kind of cool. Great 3D effects : )

Will there be a nightmare before christmas version like Haunted Mansion?
Are 3D glasses needed?
Okay I get the portrait is a reference to Disneyland, but the busts are really iconic as well as Grim Grinning Ghosts, which was present in the other 4 attractions. I was hoping they would do something like the busts in the Paris version.
My only question really is why it's all in english for a Hong Kong park. Is english commonplace over there ?
I hope that the Ratatouille ride at Walt Disney Studios @ Paris has the same type of vehicles as this one and has the same quality for special effects and theming, then it will be an awesome ride!
Wow there's no track. That's awesome.
You'd be surprised. The show building for Mystic Manor is pretty small compared to Haunted Mansion.
Disney really needs to bring some of this technology home to America
Add this to Epcot's China maybe?
Bravo! This is true Disney Magical Experience. If they bring this to Orlando it surely be a competitor against HPatFJ (which is currently my favorite ride). US Disney needs to not concern so much on budget limitations. People will know and appreciate where it went to. Just look at DisneySea.
That is impressive.
I agree with you.
I don't see this as an updated Haunted Mansion. The ride, this experience, stands on its own. I'm very impressed.
Aye. Imagine this ride system and all these special effects in, oh I don't know, an updated version of the original "Journey Into Imagination"?
Incorrect. If you watch his video carefully, you can see the differences. His is another ride-thru of the (amazing) attraction. In his, a reverse Nordic Chamber can be seen, with the same effects, but left to right, and the Mongol suit of armor not present in this video.

NIce!

I believe they will add in a different ride to each park. like phantom manor a different way here and mystiv manor museum of the weird
my thoughts exactly
its not haunted mansion..... BUT the effects are amazing and they did a great job with this!
My mind is blown
ah okay makes sense now, thank you :)
True dat!
I believe there do have local people who are only fond of extremely thrill rides and are not used to the theme of Disney Parks. There you go. The World Showcase has all sorts of room. According to 1982 brochures they were going to add an Israel, Spain and African pavilion.
John, ask them about the Iran pavilion. Needless to say, it never happened.
Japan was to have a Mt. Fuji roller coaster.

With Baxter gone and Crofton in power? Not this century.
Awesome
I'm from Hong Kong but now I live in Minnesota but at first when i came to America people were like wow you know English? I thought you were from China?
maybe or they could put it somewhere in epcot or animal kingdom.
You mean at 1:18 ?
You are right! Most of hong kong people think that exciting rides are the first thing to concern about... Only a few of us appreciate dark rides like this ==
It's kinda like Night at the Museum
Disney gave Hong Kong Disneyland exclusive rights to this ride and Grizzly Peak for 5 years so until then this ride is HK exclusive.
I think it would fit very nicely into Animal Kingdom.
Better yet, that little traders outpost section in-between China and Germany sections.
That's why ya gotta save up some money so you can enjoy this and other great attractions.
No way... Adventureland.
Okay, there isn't enough space to put it there, but this is very much an Adventureland themed attraction.
Well let's see how many strings Disney will pull to bring it down to the US.
This is supposed to be Hong Kong interpretation of the Haunted Mansion. I don't think you will see this in the US.
visually this ride looks fantastic. Shame as far as niche (dark story ride, slightly scary for kids) it is similar to Haunted mansion. They are both such pretty rides but they took a lot more freedom with this. I want to ride it.

Errr... I think what he meant was "Will Mistic Manor have a Nightmare Before Christmas version, just like it happens in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland?"
Oh sure, there's probably a few plans stashed in Glendale but management won't greenlight it for a while.
I think the answer is no, but i really don't know.
Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland during Halloween, and Christmas every year.
What are Haunted Mansion fans threatened by? MM is about 40 years off of that mark.
oh my god
doesn't mean they can't plan ahead on where to put it in the us.
Too bad the local audience is not mature enough to appreciate such advanced dark ride. All they like are corny carnival rides that can be found in ocean park.
Come on WDI! This'll fit right in Animal Kingdom or World Showcase!
at 1:18 The 2 busts behind looks like they are from the haunted mansion
you are right, hong kong is not china, hong kong is china's penal colony
Maybe it can come to Animal Kingdom.
Oh stop it. It will SOON get a US release. Just wait and see.
Not fair 34 n 78 need to hear nail wo
Its too bad Disney co is not willing to take the chance on an untried concept and do big scale like the Haunted Mansion if this had not been done so cartoonish and on such a small scale it could have been a ride to rival the likes of the Mansion and Pirates.
tell them China ≠ Hong Kong
btw 個ride 睇落好正
It actually can't cause Hong Kong Disneyland has exclusive rights to this
No don't unless Disney is prepared to shell out real coin to do this this well, do not attempt if you are going to scale it back like so many other imported attractions.
Frank Welker!
I agree...it is like Haunted Mansion. If HKDL would add toy story mania in the future in the toy story land...it will be funny..
The Haunted Mansion will always be better, it has a timeless theme that cannot be broken. If Mystic Manor hits 40+ years old and still has a huge fan base, then we'll talk. Considering MM relies on its technology and less on theme, I don't feel it has that ability.
No, you don't need 3D glasses for the ride.
The busts are in this ride, just sort of on the side.
