    Thank you for these tests, Andrei. I upgraded last night and was fairly happy with the performance when shooting photos but wasn't sure how the video updates would turn out. Such a bummer that even after so many years, we are still lightyears behind the autofocus performance of Sony, Lumix, etc. Oh well, at least we have film simulations lol. I also hope the Summer release with Reala Ace comes with some more improvements. Thanks again for this video!

    So, 1 thanks for making this video. I feel there aren't enough Fuji videos being posted when compared to the other brands. I searched Fujifilm this week and there isn't very much that pops up. Even when the tracking dropped for the X-H2s it was the same .
    Secondly there is a huge problem with this tracking update on my X-H2s . If you have the screen facing forward and you touch to track if you move you head one way the tracking box goes the total opposites way . Also, I'm having issues where if I'm recording on my X-H2s it will act as if the camera is in a product showcase mode where anything in the front of the frame will steal the focus from my face or eyes. I use left eye priority. If, I don't move the actual focus box to my face you will see the AF going crazy with me moving slightly in frame. The spot on the right of the screen where it says AF in the box that changes to tracking and green when you tap the subject will go crazy if I put something in front of my face. This wasn't the case before. I was really waiting for touch to track for video mode and now I'm holding off on updating my X-S20. I really hope they fix these bugs. I wish there was a setting where you can have the box just stay on your eye instead of trying to focus on what's front and center in the frame like there is a way in photo mode to change the setting to not front or back focus.

    Thank you for your honest review. I think Fuji has the best features layout overall , it’s just frustrating the autofocus is still such a continuous issue. I still get way to many missed single autofocus shoots on still subjects. The focus indicator will say it’s in focus but when you review the shot it will be out of focus. This is so frustrating. I have missed more than a handful of shots because of this. I honestly don’t think the hit rate is any better than my xt2.

    • @Zlaja192
      @Zlaja192 4 месяца назад

      It is a general Fuji AF issue, that for some reason way too few people are noticing, but luckily more and more…it happens with focal lenghts from 35mm and wider, at daylight, high contrast settings, AF-S Single Point focus (so the simplest task possible): The metered focus distance jumps around when focusing repeatedly at the same chosen point, leading to some shots being soft due to missed focus.
      After trying a whole lot of different Fuji cameras I came to the conclusion that every X camera having an X trans sensor with phase detect and contrast AF has this issue. For example the X-Pro1 and X-T1, using only contrast AF, did not show this fault. So basically anything newer than that will drive you nuts. Missing focus as a mirrorless camera on stationary objects is ridiculous. I also sold all my Fujis therefore…

      @@LambentLizard They are all the same. Its a general funny fault. People dont notice as they are way more focused on their Filmlook😄… honestly, even I did not get the problem immediately, I was just wondering where the special sharpness is, that everyone was talking about, when mentioning Fuji lenses and x trans sensors… until I had more and more shots that were not soft, but totally missed focus (x100f and x100v) .. that made me go investigate deeper. Tried to raise awareness on dpreview and never received funnier feedback with such literally dumb „solutions/workarounds“ in my life. Fuji really has some blindly-in-love customers

    yeah, this is the reason I don`t really prefer fuji and its a shame. Its definitely ok for most things but in profesional environment, you can`t focus on AF all the time. it takes a lot of experience to make the camera work. As for beginners, that is a problem. From my experience I constantly had to check if the photos were in focus and many times it was not the case. That create more stress and by simply focuring so much in getting the photo in focus, you might miss the moment or the opportunity for a great photo. Would not be nice to rely on the camera`s AF so you can focus on your framing, lighting, subjetc, etc? After owning a Fuji, I am scared to photograph a wedding....:D Not a friendly user camera. However, props to how the Fuji cameras see the world.

      I have another theory , The motors are fine (same 3rd party lens compared on other systems works like a totally different one, but it has the same motor , also aperture on sony is closing smoothly , on fuji is closing/opening in steps), I think the way the camera communicates with the lens is the issue. It communicates in small unaccurate steps. So I think the mount engineering/contacts/protocol is old technology and they can't replace it because they have a lot of lenses, that would mean they have to kill all of their xmount lenses.

      If you have an f1.4 lens you want to use it. No point IMO to test at f8 with plenty of depth of field buffer. This wouldn't prove a point.

      We are paying the large sums for these new primes because they are amazing wide open, and their linear motors react at like 0.04sec speeds. This isn’t a lens issue, but a body issue anyway

    I am on X-T3. Eye AF is so unreliable (I have a toddler) that I turned AF off and switched to old school Back Button Focus.
    I was expecting that my problems would be resolved as soon as I switched to X-T5 or perhaps to X-H2S if I saved enough pennies.
    One would expect that a camera (X-H2S) that costs 2.5K equipped with the stacked sensor would be reliable and impeccable after 6 firmware updates - why wouldn't it?
    I don't know what Fujifilm is thinking. I think they should fire their engineering team - all of them. This is embarrassing and ridiculous.

    However it’s a great stills camera for street photography if you manual focus. Just set the aperture to f8 and zone focus. It’s also a great stills camera for landscape photography. Just set the aperture to f8 and zone focus. 😂 For the weight/size ratio and the great EVF, it is still my favorite camera.
