  • There have been lots of different options for intakes over the years. Here is a quick overview of the most common designs you will find for FD RX7s. Many of the great quality functional cold air intakes like the Mazdaspeed or Knightsports are no longer being produced. Still plenty of options for open cone filter style such as the HKS, Apexi, Greddy etc. available but as you will see int he video, I'm not a fan of those style due to the exposure to the engine bay heat.......but I'll admit, they do sound the coolest since you hear all the compressor and impeller sounds

With the AutoEXE Intake, Is there any way to increase efficiency with the 92-98 front bumper?

@christiangarcia1668 update to the 99 spec bumper setup, it's all bolt on but getting expensive to source the parts these days. IMO it's not worth it because if you run a front plate it won't give that "ram air" effect advertised. You can always custom make your own splitter to direct air up that direction but then you may be robbing the Radiator etc. From some of the air flow. This still pulls air from the same location as 99+ cars so if you run a front plate, it's just as good in the older models. Airflow over the intercooler will be more beneficial than more to the intake I believe.
