I had a similar greddy exhaust on my FD when I bought it and it was too annoying, especially on longer drives. I have the racing beat single tip and it's just loud enough to be fun but at cruising speeds, isn't annoying like the greddy.
I think the racing beat is great but nothing compares to that Apex but man this has been great and the fact you’ve done more work then a shop has that got paid and you doing this because your friend deserves better is amazing also i would recommend doing a full fluid flush and ask the dude if he be interested in a different steering wheel i would say go QR but something slimmer over all love this and i will pray for you once iori sees u broke her pot
This is my favorite comment. Thank you so much. APEXi is king in my eyes. He is looking to get rid of the big steering wheel but it’s one step at a time for now
Great video! I used to be a fan of the super loud exhausts like the Tomei. But after awhile it got annoying. Maybe it’s cuz I’m older now but i definitely like quieter, subtle exhaust setups now
I have the dual apexi n1 on my na fc and I love the crap out of it. I just feel bad when I have to take my non car enthusiasts friend around especially on the highway 😂
There's a reason why the "RS" from the Greddy stands for Ricer Shit...:D I came to the exact same conclusions when my FC got its Racing Beat catback too. And the only thing that made it sound even better was putting in a 20B-REW. If a 13B-REW is like playing top string on a regular guitar (E note), a 20B-REW is top string on a bass. Quiet, low, subtle, and understated. Perfect for a sleeper build like I did.
I agree louder isn't always better, even for a car that lives on a trailer it can be hard to think and focus if the engine is too loud. If you have a spare Android phone or can borrow one, I like the free app 'Sound Meter-Decibel' (by melon soft). I'd be interested to know the decibel numbers for the Racing Beat and the Apex'i exhaust, if you swap those eventually. My RX7 has an aftermarket downpipe and cat converter but I haven't replaced the stock muffler yet. I can measure the sound level with my phone sometime to compare.
I've had racingbeat and HKS CarbonTi with and without resonators. Definitely best sound for me is the HKS with a resonated midpipe. Deep, not too loud, not farty...and it has the 90s/2000s cannonball exhaust style look. Also, a new exhaust prob has new packing. Cut up the Greddy one...im interested if it even has packing 😂😂
there's so many issues about that shop and those people that you can see rx7 / rotary forums. how are they still in business and accepted in the community? 😅
@@ioriOki my original comment was deleted by YT I have a full SMB SP exhaust that was developed for the homologation production race car here in Australia. The SP RX7. Only difference is mine is 3.5in and custom dolphin tip. It has a special pressed dump pipe to miss the steering rack/arm for right hand drive, high flow cat and the muffler looks similar to the racing beat. Sounds unique and far from a fart in a can 🤣
New exhaust def has a better overall tone. Less farty and the volume is more reasonable. Not sure it necessarily sounds better during a full pull, bit it's definitely better throughout the range. Can definitely hear the turbo and the stututus better now too, which is crucial. Nice work.

People who never own an fd would never understand. Especially the history of racing beat. Super underrated when they were record breaker.

I use to be all about hood dumps and flames too, but now, being able to think while on throttle is so much better
Another awesome Mazda RX-7 FD video :) Can't wait to see more XD
Thanks for always being one of the first to watch and support. It means a lot

Oh the Dual N1 is gnarly! I commend you guys for running it, but that things screams too loud for me 😂

I have never heard that RS joke. That’s classic.
The self adjusting planter pot
I'm gonna need a new pot.

I actually never thought of that. The packaging is probably completely gone. Lol
My buddies FB is the same way….😳🤢 the sad thing is…theres a turbo in mix on that noise!!!
Jeeze Louise! I high key need an FB

By full system I mean dump pipe, mid with cat and rear muffler section.
Stock downpipe?
@@ioriOki SMB dump pipe

First. All I'll say is, I'm not a fan of the full Titanium exhausts that are so popular. They just do not sound good on rotaries.

I really wanna get this car on an APEXi EVO hybrid, but it’s one thing at a time. I’m just glad the GReddy is off
Racing beat smoother and far less drone.
I agree completely.
