    Restoring my 18 year old Outdoor Gas Grill Barbeque. it is a DCS stainlees steel 36".
    To replace the BBQ, would be about $6000.
    To have the BBQ restored by a service company would be about $2000.
    I decided to Restore the Barbeque myself and share this do it yourself video on the materials and cleaning products that worked best.
    My total cost was $140 to restore and it looks and works like new!
    Check out the BBQ restore DIY video and let mw know how yours goes and share in the comments products you found to help make the job go easier!

    On the broken Ceramic rods, I called Amazon Customer Service, since you cant contact the seller direct, and they gave me a credit of $45, so I could purchase a 18 pack of rods from another Amazon seller. Should receive those soon. Will update if rods are same quality when they arrive.

    I have a BGB30. I used WD-40 and 4 ought pads to clean the stainless steel. You never mentioned how the steel brush, oven cleaner, power washer, CLR and finally the Bar Keepers Friend worked for you. I just used my 3000 psi power washer to clean off the grates and the burners. Then used compressed air to blow out all the debris in the burners. Let sun dry for a day in this over 100 degree heat and then reinstalled. Mine is only 10-12 years old. Only replaced the radiants, ceramic rods and one burner plus the igniters. Thanks for the video.

    Great video, very helpful. I did a similar job on mine, and I would recommend using lemon, salt, baking soda and vinegar to clean it. It's amazing what that combination does. Makes all that grease very soft very fast. Thank you again for doing this video.

    thanks again for your reply. I found a video on RUclips saying that I might need to use a flat screwdriver to push down the 2 clips in the back.

    Had my DCS for a few yrs and I'm on my third set of burners ... just received my second set of factory replacements. Guessing I've got the 7 series(?) as my burner's holes are different than your burners.

    Thanks for the great video. How long did your burners last before you have to replace them? The burners look good. Are they the original 18 yrs ago? Thanks again

      Those burners are original. Maybe they don't make them like they used to! Or a different material?

    Thanks for your reply. One more question please: my burners seem to be stuck or held tightly on the grill, but your video shows the burners are removed easily. Do I have to remove some screws to detach the burners? Thanks

    • @CruisingTheLand
      @CruisingTheLand  Год назад

      mine twist to remove, no screw. But once you remove grills and clean up a bit, you can see what is stopping it from coming out.

      It's not too hard. Grills pull out, the only tough part are the burners, which you have to tilt forward, then pull out.

    Not sure if this works on your barbecue but on the barbecue igniter button if you turn that counterclockwise to take offthere’s usually a battery inside if the battery is bad it will not ignite as in hearing a clicking noise

      @@CruisingTheLand thats great news. I just picked up a free BGB48-BQRL (not sure how old it is) just needs some TLC, and there were no rods and trays. So where I can save money but not spare quality will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for the update.

    Took 18 years to clean, owners must have been in a coma.

    • @CruisingTheLand
      @CruisingTheLand  Месяц назад

      So not everyone cleans every month..Video is to show 18 Years of not cleaning how it can be revived. For every day someone is in a coma it's at least 3 days to recover..So 18 years in a coma would take 54 years to recover. So if you went into a coma at age 20, came out at 38, you'd be fully recovered by 92 ready to take on the world!!
