I bought a small house in Florida and I have the same type of windows. The problem I am facing is all the cranks are broken, and all the aluminum is rotted and pitted, and the screens are either missing or some of them are bent. My area of the house that these windows are in is what they call down here in FL is the lanai ( enclosed porch) or sun room. The tinting is peeling off as well. I noticed that one of my neighbors has the same windows and they look brand new and keep the character of the home. I hope I am able to save these tired worn out old windowds
Ran into a few of these MCM houses in the Hills in So Cal back in the late 70s early 80s. Remodel work, The louvers were always funky. Lots of doctors and dentists offices were built in the same general time line. You see a lot of MCM design in those buildings no mater where you live. Good fix James.
Good Solution. I'm fixing an older crank out RV trailer window. I'm replacing the broken hinges, and have a similar pivot point. I am concerned about it pinching too tight and inhibiting the pivot. I wonder if you had to shim until after the rivet was in, so it didn't pinch too tight? But obviously, or apparently, you didn't have that problem! Looks good!
I'm searching for a source/supplier for the "aluminum wedge" and small set screws that hold the glass panes in place. We are rebuilding our porch and removed 120 panes from our Jalousie windows before removing the Jalousie frames and I'm needing to replace 1 aluminum wedge and 3 screws.
I have the rivets on slider arm popping off of the glass holder. Looks like the rivet remains in the slider arm but detaches from the glass holder. Ideas? Steve
Seems like ebay sells them. Doesn't seem like louvre windows are common in USA but I want them.. australia has new frames for sale but it would cost a mint to ship.. any USA sources?
I just bought a house that has these windows. And they haven't been cleaned in yrs. I used soap water, bleach water. And nothing. Please help with any suggestions.
Thank you much I got my window fixed from this video 👍
So glad we could help the Man in Black…lol

We were prepared to have to do a test and cut it out and shim but didn't have to. The "default" pinch on the rivet gun worked fine. Good luck!
Nice...

would this same problem as the glass is hitting top of frame & preventing it from closing

I wish I had an answer for you Steve but I don’t.
What happens when the mechanical part of the window wears out? Is it easy to replace?
That’s a good question. I would guess someone makes a replacement part for the handle/gearing?

How do I get the crank box out of the channel on an Armaclad Joulasie door?
Armaclad is still in business, they may have a replacement guide or parts diagram you could reference??

My camper has these and we clean with wd40 and a green scotchbite pad-- if aluminum.
