    I'm known as the kesa guy here at my gym, all thanks to this series.

    That last Ezekiel setup Tho! That particular choke is accessible from A Lot of positions. I won my only Gold Medal with an Ezekiel from Mount, back in the good ole days of 2011.

      @@AdamBarkerThe For real though, BJJ is like Dark Souls PvP. All I need to do now is figure out how to zweihänder parry in BJJ.

      @@junfour when in doubt, ezekiel choke my dude. It will make even the biggest giant tap and you don’t need to worry about overpowering them OSS

    Love watching these, but as a 59 year old chubby white belt I spend all my time in survival mode. I usually roll with blue n purple belts and if I ever get in a top position…I’m not there long. I guess I just have to practice escapes n sweeps but that’s not as much fun as learning chokes. 😉
    Love your videos !

    Very nice 👍🏼 - use Ezekiel’s a lot, but not from Kesa Gatame - great 👍🏼 stuff!

    White belt here. As soon as I get into kesa getame, I get swept every time. Thoughts ?

      It is probably your weight distribution. You should be pressuring into their ribs but make sure to not lean back.

      when you wrap your arm around his head or under hook. if head wrap it around his head and hold your leg and he wont be able to sweep you. if under hook its your leg distribution to far.

      If they're doing the L sweep (overhead and to the side) then make sure your leg is pointing straight out from their spine/head. If they're framing you up to where they can swing their legs over for a reversal you need to tough out the frame long enough to set up a C frame on their elbow, and your elbow to your knee and shove their arm over into that arm triangle position

      Chest pressure, elbow control (!) and feet placement forming a solid base should do it.

    Kesa Gatame is a Judo move

    • @StillRolling
      @StillRolling  20 дней назад

      That is correct. That is why it has a Japanese name👍

      @@StillRolling I also learned that there are also two styles of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. One is Gracie Jiu Jitsu and the other one is Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu. The way I see it one is geared towards self defense and the other one is more sports oriented and both have different fundamentals. I don't practice any martial art. If I did I prefer to go with Kodokan Judo because the rule set is simple for me to understand and everyone has the same standard. I might be wrong but that's how I see it.
