Thank you for this video. My cap was in front of my garage door yesterday. Was wondering how to figure out the size I needed and you answered that!

I dont know if you check your comments, but you need to see this; a local chimney/mason family-company in Mystic, CT charged me $900 for a chimney cap and labor to put it on! He said he had to order it at $385ish a pop!! I felt sickened. I knew he was taking advantage of me.
I texted, complained about the price gouging, guy texted me basically told me I was out of line and due to him coming to clean out my chimneys for $1200, “he saved me”. Well I got my 50% deposit back on the chimney cap he overpriced. Thank goodness!
Thank god I spoke up. Cripes and his family member was preaching the Bible to me for about 20 minutes on the day they did come and chimney sweep. Whacked.

Sorry that happened to you. I don't know how much an actual chimney cap would cost, especially in CT. I know some of the larger ones that have to be custom made can get quite expensive. Glad you were able to get it figured out. There are definitely companies out there that will take advantage of people. Thanks for watching.
